After 6 weeks of impatient waiting, daily visits to pester mike, drooling at the harley davidson's next door, caressing the MV Augusta sitting outside minerva, i finally collected my gleaming yellow monster... hurray! :) finally get to wear my new helmet and jacket.

Wow!!! your first bike is a duk & its a class 2.....Not bad.. I like you already. :thumb:

On a serious note, all of us cannot persuade you either to buy or not to buy, coz simply put....its your money!!!! :p

However, if you read the posts above this, you'll notice that EVERYONE says your gonna have fun and lots more fun with this breed.......guess what.....so I am.....

Bro....you're going to have so much fun with it, you'll begin to wonder how you survived all those years.

Sure there are better bikes out there. Sure there are cheaper bikes out there. Sure there are crappier bikes out there, but I kid you not, when I say the intensity of fun that you're going to potentially get out of your monster is exhilarating. 100% guaranteed.

In life, most decisions are made based upon emotions which we try to rationalise.

This is no different. There is a deep beckoning within your belly that draws you nearer to your Monster 696. However, there is the reasoning which is cautioning you, telling you to look before you jump.

Screw that! You know you want it. Your heart yearns for it. Your eyes are glued to it, and your head is constantly painting pictures of you on your Monster 696.....

GO GET IT!!!

The mind is like a parachute; it only works when open.

Hi,

Need to ask the more expriences monster riders some questions:

1) I recently change my pipes to a pair of slip-on Termi and performance airfilter. The mech took the top cover of the stock airbox off and told me to ride without the airbox cover. According to him, this is how it should be. I am new to this and a bit worried that with the top open, water and dirt might get into the engine and spoil my monster. So have anyone exprience this before. I feel like putting back the cover but i don't want to mess up the tuning they have done. They did the tuning without the stock airbox filter cover.

Can anyone give some advice. Please.

By the way the termi ROCKS !!! Now everyone can hear me cuming..oops i mean coming ...ha..ha

Dude.. riding without the airbox cover should be fine. If you want to use it with the airbox cover you should get the K&N non high performance filter(yup there are 2 types). Coming for the trip tomorrow?

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

Thank you hann for the reply. Ya.. i did not know there are 2 type. I paid a very price $$$ for the performance filter. I nearly died when they told me how much the bloody thing cost. Ordered and installed so no chance of rejecting...sigh.. now i am only worry that water and dirt get into my engine.

I have been wanting to go for the meeting to get more advice from you guys. But unfortunately i work weekend and after work it's family time.

Anyone else have anymore advice on my airbox issue.

Thanks

yo yo h@nn... silly me forgotten how to get to the west coast mac

i'm quite sure i'll be there tommorrow if it not raining.

can please help me with the direction again tks!!

Yo guys, may I know what is the purpose of riding without the airbox cover? I have a pair of Termis on my bike too but all the while I have been riding with the cover on. So if I want to remove the cover, I should get the high performance filter or will the original filter suffice?

Thanks.

Dude, you ride along ECP all the way till AYE. When you hit Clementi exit(just after NUS), turn left all the way down to West Coast Highway. Turn right at main road. Macdonalds entrance should be about 50 m down. See you there!
