Someone told me I should shift to the extreme left and let him pass me from behind w/t the lane :giddy: I think doing so will send a wrong signal to the drivers that bikes do not have a right of use of the entire lane . Wats more that is so dangerous !

If you notice the ah peks that rides very slowly on highway and roads, you should also notice that they ride very close to the curb and allow vehicles to overtake them on the same lane.

Thats why maybe the drivers thought that ALL bikes should give way to them so that they can overtake ALL bikes on the same lane. (Which in my opinion is very dangerous)

Slow in Fast Out, Fast in Never Come Out.

2. I keep up with the speed of the traffic in my lane. If the traffic speed is too fast for me on the middle lane, I'll get out of the way, let faster traffic pass, then move back into the middle lane.

I agree with contrarian, follow the flow of traffic. I strongly believe this should be the way how riders and drivers should behave on the road. If the speed is too fast for you, just get out. Have you guys seen how inconsiderate people slow down to look at an accident on the highway even though it is clear, resulting in a jam behind? The same occurs when an inconsiderate rider/driver die die follow the 90km/h speed limit on lane 1 of the highway when his front is clear and a queue is forming up behind him.

haha.. Pai say Saboon. Wrong person. Its what QX does, playing with drivers on the road that I seriously don't agree with. I agree with all riders that lane 1, the fastest lane on the right is meant for overtaking only. I never stay there too. Usually, i will ride at lane 2 and use lane 1 for overtaking, and if a car or bike appear behind me in lane 1, I will try to get back into lane 2 unless traffic is too heavy and i have no chance. Yes, there are many idiot drivers who drive at speed limit on lane 1. When i encounter this i simply overtake from the left or suqeeze when i judge that it is safe. I usually like to cruise at 110 (120 on my speedo). So i have no time to waste behind those idiots on lane 1. Those familiar with NSH will know that staying on lane 1 regardless of your speed is courting trouble, unless u are trying top speed (class 2) already then dun say la.

I am strongly against what QX does, about playing with drivers, slow down... let him change lane and then speed up to block him, or change same lane and block him etc simply because i do not know the state of mind the driver is in, and i do not trust his driving skills and handling of his vehicle. If he goes berserk like that taxi driver who deliberately killed the rider, I will have to pay for his mistake with my life. At the end of the day, I want to go home to my loved ones. I don't want to lose my life over the poor judgement and lost of control of a car by some stupid driver i irritated, or worse, some silly mistake he commits.

When i drive a car, i may practice what QX does if i feel in the mood to return the favour and disturb him. Simply because its easier to block the idiot. And the mentality is "If you dare, you buang me lah! I will claim your insurance." Surely, this makes more sense than "if you buang me i die". Never assume the car won't buang you. He may not want to, or dare to, but he may not be competent enough with that huge cage of his, or in a proper state of mind.

Hehe.. :sorry: Never read carefully anyhow post liao. Peace

Haha Bro , agree on this point , follow speed and flow of traffic , if too slow cannot catch up , change to slow moving vehicle lane ( lane 3 ) and have the courtesy to let the faster moving ones behind take over. If u read again my first post, u will be amazed with the driver i encounter; slow moving traffic at 10 - 15km/h , heavy rain, all cars move like snail , me following behind a car at minimal allowance already and this joker behind me high beam me twice :giddy: { think i realise why....those who drive may agree with me, it seems like in traffic jams where drivers have to step on gas and break continuously , gauging the closest safety distance to stick to a car butt w/o hitting it is easier than compared to gauging the distance between the car's bonnet and the bike's butt.since bike is more streamline.. juz my guess :bounce:

No lah.. Its a matter of attitude. I drive and ride also. If its a manual car, ok, maybe more frustrating in jam. But its no excuse to disturb you like the idiot driver did. Freaking slowest lane also want to tailgate. If i riding a scram, maybe i will break to a stop one day, mount the pavement and wave him through humbly. Maybe he will feel embarassed. :cheeky:

hey bro.. i usually ride slow and doesn't squeeze.. just ignore all those tupid drivers..

^5! i normally ride in the middle lane following traffic speed and don't squeeze. My practice is to pick a car that travels at consistent speed and follow it at a safe distance.

As for other vehicles who wants to filter into my lane, if they are in front of me and SIGNAL, i will give way. yesterday i gave way to a taxi who wanted to filter into my lane and he gave me the 'thank you' hand signal after he successfully did so. :thumb: it's really nice to practice good road manners and it makes riding more enjoyable.

so far i have not experience anyone high beam at me. even if they did i would ignore them if i'm not blocking anyone's way. I will move to left lane to allow other vehicles to overtake me if they are faster. even for faster bikes, if i see them approaching at high speed i will make way for them to pass.

why let others' bad manners upset you? enjoy your ride and more importantly, be safe & stay alive! :cheer:

i think is just some drivers just bullying other road users.

I have experienced on several occasions where i am riding on the centre of lane 2 on the expressways on the speed limit and there are cars tailgating me even though they can overtake me on Lane 1. Some how its boosting their ego to make bikes switch lanes just for them.

I will normally slow down to piss them off.

Thought don want to argue or risk my life of being knocked down filter to 3rd lane since he is rushing on his way to heaven , then just as i signal left and filter , this dude filter with me .got a schock and arubpt back to 2nd lane , he give a grin and sped off . :thumb: Wat I do ? I juz mumured " Na mo al me tou fuo " may the lord bless him . :thumb:

Agree that slow doesn't mean safe. Slow reduce your chances of getting into self -inflicted accidents , but may increase the risk of others inflicting accidents on you . For me so far, I always travel at the speed limit when situation allows, no more (unless short overtaking) and no less ( unless slow or harzardous condt like heavy rain ) . Usually on 3rd and 2nd lane , never realli want to move to first lane due to my small bike sz .

I have experienced all of d stuff u have. For d past 7mnths of my riding.. I dun squeeze thru at all.. UNLESS..on expressways wen traffic doesnt move at all.. other than that.. on neighbourhoods i alwys dun squeeze thru.. and gues wat.. some give me that kinda look as if im doing sumthing offensive.. but sumtimes i feel bad la.. coz its like taking one whole car space.. but my dad told.. do wat i tink is rite.. i mean safety comes first.. dun care abt these ppl la.. they duno how to be courteous.. if they hi beam then jus ignore.. dun create trouble on d road or wat.. and pls dun change ur safe habits coz of such reckless annoying drivers.. Ride safely aite =):cheer: :cheer:

Yeah tis is good.. i do dat too.. but once when i was driving dad's car n he was beside me.. he scolded me off.. coz sometimes in a rush to give way.. we may not check our mirror n immediately move to d left lane.. but this can result in an accident.. haha.. so even if we wanna rushingly give way.. alwys check blindspot before changing lane aite =)

i just cant stand those young riders/drivers.. sum of them.. jus so impatient n fast.. i tink these r d kids that came out of mum's tummy in 6 mnths instead of 9mnths coz they r too impatient... ahakz... sumtimes i seriously wonder ppl are alwys rushing to.. esp taxi drivers.. if ambulance or police i understand la.. but d rest? :giddy:

I have to agree with Ladyrider's method of riding. Sometimes i also feel squeezing or riding fast and impatiently doesn't really get you any faster to your destination. In neighbourhoods, ride fast fast also no use. Some uncle on vespar will often catch up with you at the next traffic light. Makes you wonder why u whack your bike for? Squeezing on expressways also does not get me much faster in smooth traffic. I may feel like I'm much faster, but someone i remember seeing at the back always catches up with me without squeezing. In the end, i concluded, that squeezing only gets you faster to your destination when there is a traffic jam, or at red light junctions, and you have to clear the next traffic light while others are held back. So... not much point la.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

motor cycle is alway a safe mean of transport. other four-wheeler that make it dangerous as what ppl alway said" motor cycle are dangerous to your life on the road". even the motogp racer comment that motor cycle are dangerous on the road. they driving as mean of transport but race & survice on the track. why? i ever xperience riding with those malaysian motor cyclist during peak hr when the road are full with moto only, even there are malaysian motor cyclist who ride fast sqeeze left right, but around me i still feel safer that riding with four-wheeler. Educated the four-wheeler first how to drive B4 blame the moto cyclist. to pass the Class3 doesn't mean they r one big F driver in S'pore. u still learning on the road after u pass though.i myself drive & ride on the road for several yrs liao.

I think horning is a worst case then high beam , a case of road bully in yr case imo . so far if I kena stalled , i juz shift slightly to right and wave cars behind to overtake me.Most will be able to sense that I stalled my motor.
