Stealing of Road Tax disc

Hey guys, happened to any of you before?

 

I found out my disc got "broken" into 2 and my Road Tax disc slip was missing, presumably stolen. Then I had to renew RT, but no disc, so I called LTA, they said have to go all the way down to Sin Ming and pay admin fee of $10 something to get a replacement, which I find quite stupid. They wouldn't send me a new one cos it's 6 months renewal and not time to send a new one.

 

I'm thinking of just renewing online or AXS machine. But I still won't have the disc slip, which isn't legal to ride without.

 

What are your thoughts?

That's why i never display the road tax. For me, I use the rectangular coupon holder, keep in there, together with my bike keys (just like a key chain). In this way, whenever i on road, road tax is always displayed.

the screw secure the disc to the bike is still intact..

but the whole thing is gone.. leaving the loop area on the bike..

Ya la. The only reason I can think of is bo liao. I mean, I think the holder will be a better thing to steal than the RT slip. Maybe they think they display the stolen slip they no need pay RT. So every time steal new one. hahaha

Basically the one who steal ur RT is as good as retarded lah. think next time u just keep ur RT in ur wallet then. my friend told me if never display RT is ok, but must be with u so that if kena spot check, u must be able to produce or..........

err...I also dun carry wallet. HAHAHAH. I just dump everything in pocket. But yea, probably next time put in box or something. Lucky it's RT slip, imagine it's HDB Season parking. Kao man!

Think they only interested in the holder and not the disc.. Crazy bunch of ppl.. I throw my road tax disc under my pillion's sit.. No TP/ROV will bother to check oso.. CUZ if u get caught/spot check, they first thing they will say is : " IC and lic "..

does checking of your rd tax display still apply?

hmm..maybe to some tp nothing to catch on you so take this as an issue on you if you did not display..

now road tax no need display anymore ma.. jus keep it in ur wallet.. no wallet? nvm.. put at ur box/backseat .. no box? scared rain go in backseat? nvm .. put into a plastic then put at ur backseat lo..if roadblock tp or whatevr ask... take out n show.. now different road tax not a must to display anymore right..

I think Road Tax must still display. I remember reading it at LTA website, although they say windscreen, generally it should mean for all vehicles la. But I guess a lot of TP don't really bother, unless they wanna kwa lan with you.
