sian....

2 days ago just met wif an accident at clementi ave 2 slip road joining AYE towards city.

a lorry was in front of me suddenly jam brake.

i was looking out for traffic coming from my right then i saw him brake.

i siam to my right but its was too close i hit his back and left side faring smashed.

i then slowly put down my bike to its right.

i am very sure that there is not traffic coming from the slip road if not i will had been "died" by then as my bike and i landed on the slip road.

But on whole, its still my fault. Hiax.....

The lorry driver was very kind and helpful not to claim me and help to move my bike to the side.

Just then i then discover that my left hand is in pain and swell.

I apologised to him and he offered to send me to hospital but i rejected.

Damaged:-

Bike: left side faring, head faring and etc smashed which will cost me $1300++++....????

Myself: left hand factured. My shaft bone connecting my ring finger at the back of my palm broke.....

Lesson Learnt:-

stop to check for traffic and not move while checking.

luckily i am not speeding, if not head on to the back of the lorry and worst things could had happen......

Now must rest at least 6 weeks before i can ride again..........

Hey - sorry to hear of your lang-gar. Hope you not feeling lousy about it coz you did not do anything silly while riding...

Do take special care to rest the fracture as those are moving parts of your hand... and thanks for sharing and the advice...

Everyone stay alert and defensive when riding!!

i'm 1.7m tall but with short legs, everytime i ride , i need to tip toe all the way. Having problems when bike is stationary or slow.....

My friends advise me to have a lowering kit but din know about whether got any problems or not after install (etc like main stand unable to use)

I'll be interested as well. I'm shorter than you and also tip-toe-ing. Good thing is I can tip toe with both legs on ground. My '05 FJR is kinda low.

'06 models comes with adjustable seat-height. Which year is yours?

Hi SBF...just bought a 06 FJR,need some advice from u guys..like wat r the accessories for FJR..and the basic things abt this bike ,and may can meet up with u guys for coffee sometime!!

IMHO, must have: tank bra, frame slider, headlight protector. The rest depends on how deep is your pocket.

Mr hugoboz, no matter what you do, go INSTALL the pair of frame sliders FIRST, the rest like tank-bra, head-light protector can wait... Head-light protector can wait if you are not going for touring at this moment.

But frame sliders cannot wait.

As this is a heavy beast, quite a few of us here have already experienced the "stationary-fall" of the bike when moving the bike in the car-park OR reversing it out of the parking lot, etc...

The frame sliders will protect your babe, should you experienced "stationary fall" like us.

So first thing first, install the frame sliders.

Cheers.

I also totally agree. Frame sliders saved my right side fairing. Without it, i think my repair cost will double up due to my accident.

So do install the frame sliders 1st.........

and make sure u get the extended length type. otherwise when bike drop, will scratch the underneath of the side boxes.

but not too long. cos will injured the main frame or worst break off upon impact. thus unable to save the bike.

YES!!! Priority is to get frame sliders!!! if u juz bot an FJR. The other accessories can wait, but fraklider cannot.

I learnt my lesson the hard way! At that time, My brand new FJR was onli 4 days old when i dropped her at pavement and really heartache to see scratches on fairings & my rite-mirror cracked!!!

Question:

Anyone over here install a top box on FJR? Am thinking of having one, but do not know which brand has the appropriate mount on the FJR tail-plate.

Thanks.
