the first signs of this, is the sound when u start up your engine, once the revv comes down it, the sound of the bike should be at a very low minimal instead of a loud clanking, (Once if heard, Change Tensioner ASAP, do not play with your idling this causes more damage than good)

I had mine done at the saddle shop a few doors away from LAB, the auntie reinforced all the seams for less than $30 (To be confirmed)

 

But I dare say that Eugene probably could do it too, I like his customer service more

I also agree, that Eugene does a great job on these things, his no more in that ARAI shop when i used to ride my Super4...his one heck of a magician, (helmets/Seats and tank bras alike)

hi guys,seldom online nowadays..anyway,my bike is service by a guy named ah [email protected] nice guy,i think quite knowledgable in FJRs oso..he oso told me the batt is ard $220,but the transport over to the workshop plus labour will cost you abt $260..tat's why he recommend me to downgrade to lower amp,and pricing cheaper by half,can ride for 6 mths more then change to same model oso cheaper than the current original batt..

 

Still sounds a bit EX, i'll check with Ah Kiong how much he charges again la, usually i go to him for FJR as some of our long time riders here would agree..

Just went down to Auto Machinery enquiring abt the FJR batt today.. Well, the price has gone up to $220!!

Nowadays everything also go up..

 

Also went to Chong Aik for the batt and they quoted me $145 but its for YUASA.

 

Anybody uses YUASA for their FJR? Any reviews people??

 

Serious!? Now so ex? I do have a spare one cuz that time had the stator coil problem. Anyway, GS and Yuasa merge already. I don't know wat you mean by Yuasa only.

i didn't know abt the merge and all but wat chong aik quote me for YUASA batt is $145.. btw GS is our FJR batt brand is it?

Ours used to be GS battery. But now all is "GS yuasa".... Thats wats printed on our batt now.

I just checked the newer version battery. Its 12Ahr / 10 hour. Maybe 06 model's battery requires higher power rating? My battery part number is 5EA-82100-11.

i always test my ABS before going on long trips. for safety sake.

car batt is wet type. its a lot more cheaper than motorbikes ones & made in Japan.

yah... its better to test 1st. but how do u do the test? touchwood, if the ABS dun work during the test how?

 

yah hor... car use wet type batt. dun drive so i nvr take note of such things.

Fyi, i had my battery changed just now in the day. Bought the battery at Auto Machinery for $220. As stated in the 08 FJR manual its the same model made thruout.

Example will be the pic above by bro kaychan.

 

There's only 12 amp (as supplied by AM) theres no 14 amps which i tot there is.. The only difference is, its now made in Taiwan rather than Japan.

 

Had it fixed at Southern(old workshop) only to find out they also have the battery but CHEAPER at $190!!

Took out my old batt and it looks exactly the same as the one i bought, also made in Taiwan..

 

Just to share ya....

Thx for ur info. Pretty ex for a batt huh... How long can an FJR batt lasts? 2 years should not be a prob rite.

 

Need another advice. Any recommended shaft fluid for FJR? Prefer a thicker type.

currently im using MHR helmet..just bought it at 219 for $65 bucks..not bad..quite comfortable..but im tink of buying xtra helmet..MHR let pillion use..since theres so many brands of helmet out there.curious...wat brand of helmet u r wearing for your daily ride...? anyone can recommend me best/ MORE comfortable helmet below $150.? i wanna have kind of 'aircon' feeling in my head...keke...and a NEW RAINCOAT too!...now using those 'apek' raincoat riding RXK..yellow colour..no style lei...riding powerful bike must have 'powerful' raincoat..

i'm using the Motul Gear Oil. 75w90. the best i've ever use. but a little ex.

RS Taichi is the best.
