Hey, got a question abt dented rim repair. Anyone knows wea got press bk rim? One of my fren kana in m'sia due to pothole. Would like to know the shop and the price. Tks

Abt the rear box if u guys are looking for something similar to Pelican cases, i would suggest the SPEAR shop along selegie. Its a military shop and of cos paintballers get their "military" outfits there too.

The box they have is of very good quality very much similar to Pelican cases where armories and ammos are being carried BUT at a cheaper price. Can't recall the brand though.

These cases are used in the US military. So its waterproof, has airtight function and also floats. Very much similar to Pelican.

Last i recall the price was ard $140 for the medium case that suits the FJR. If Pelican model 1450 i think (cant remember).

 

Its located at Selegie near Rex Cinema along the shophouses just beside an indian coffee shop. So if u guys happen to be in the area maybe can take a look. Its 1 of the wishlist items i had for my FJR but no chance to buy. Gotten used to the cashbox already and lazy to take out.

 

Just my 2 cents worth.. Alot of the previous old birds gave tips to me so im sharing it back to u guys where good stuff can be found. Still miss my FJR though .

1) i do not have tools under my seat when i bought.

What tools are needed to tour?

 

get tools for all nuts n bolts, hex wrench, screwdriver (flat n phillips), long nose pliers. I also bring things like duct tape, cable ties, small tube of quick drying cement/silicone, tire kit with CO2 canisters, air pump, torchlight..couple of other things I can't think of now.

 

2) tyre pressure for daily riding?

 

FRONT 270 REAR 290 ( I check it weekly too)

 

3) any idea where i can get bag liners,iphone holder for fjr?

 

bag liners - local are pretty expensive. Ebay has a few. I just use any old bag that can fit and ziplock everything.

 

phone holders - can't go wrong with RAM mounts. Local is JK Commercial. Can also get online at various sites. (which can be cheaper considering the low US dollar now even with shipping)

 

4) where can i get the small goods box for the rear rack?

 

I aslo interested in this. Especially how u guys mount it. I don't want to lose the grabrail. Got some ideas but if u guys have a proven method that would be great.

1 bolt won't b strong enough for palacan case. I tie down with 4 onto my base plate.

Okie guys..didn't want to part with my beloved Jammie(given bike name..hehe), but I guess I've to part with her somehow.

Due to family commitments I'm planning to buy a 2nd handcar early next yr. Can't possibly fit my 2 babies in both the panniers.. Haha

I've ask around and even ask my bikeshop(speedway) and they told me for early settlement I will need to pay the remaining outstanding loan+1.4K. Is this true? Even if I'm trading in for another bike, I will still need to settle the outstanding first.

Any idea?

First time selling bike still under hire purchase. Need your feedback on this.

Also any idea of the market price of 2005 FJR? Some website I view selling at 13.5k. When I search for 2006 model, they are selling at 18k.

Yes bro the early settlement is true, i got shock to hear that at the first i know also, but this a trade in bike shop they come out this thingy to get u to buy bike from the same shop so if u are still under hire purchase with them and u sell to other bike shop the early settlement will come in but if u trade in to the same bike shop where u buy your bike dan there will be no early settlement.

thats why i went there to ask the process flow..but i saw stars in broad daylight after his explaination!! haiz..

Tell u what, I bought it last year. Bcoz jealous of bro envie's(old bird) strobe lights. But I haven't got the chance to DIY on my bike. I forget the price..so I guess u can just give me kopi money. Pls bring a working switch and batt so u can try out first.

Btw it's 2sets of LED Lights, 1 red n the other blue. Comes with a pattern switch.

So it's all open circuit..the mount and on/off switch u need to source yah.

mine 2009 model with a few accessories plus low mileage, 22k nego is not unreasonable.yet some thinks is overpriced.

 

those wants big peanuts with low price tag maybe go sheng siong supermarket can find.still got ppl insist buying from direct owner is MORE expensive then SHOP, all i can say is..either their maths is F up or their RICHIE RICH$$. LOL
