hey guys...

im new to FJR...

i've been riding it for almost 6mths and im loving it...

btw i wanna ask to u peeps out there...

wat tyres are compatible for FJR..

like michelin, battlax?

and any shop to recommend me?

and my front tyres are already worn out.. but my rear tyres are still in quite good condition..

y is tat so?

If ure riding With pillion everytime, then ur rear will worn out fast too.

For FJR ur batt is at the front right side..so u can imagine the weight the front tire is carrying.

So most of the time, ur front right will wear out first..

Which u prefer good grip or last long?? Can refer to previous posting

The RPM is normal.

The second issue you refering to.....

If you try to engage when the RPM is high, it'll be like what you describe.

If the rpm is 1~1.2 and you give a positive step, it should engage nicely.

I usually pump the clutch a few times, while the bike is warming up. That helps shifting into first gear be smooth.

Ok, now that is considered abnormal. Its a common problem and so far i thinks its mainly affected the Gen 1. One ex-rider had this problem and before he can do anything about it, his timing chain snapped and the rest is history....

Some had it as early as 10,000km, some nv have it at all... I got it around.... can't rmb.... but had it replaced, twice....

how much does it cost to change the timing chain?

Usually you change it with the tensioner... Chain is cheap, $20+ I think. Tensioner is around $70. From AM.

The first time I let Meng Tong do it but somehow the problem came back only after 10,000km. The 2nd time I let HL Jabar do it. Up till now still ok. I won't say MT did wrongly cuz its actually quite a simple job. maybe its luck.

So for workmapship, expect HL's to be in the range of $130-$200 including parts. For Meng Tong, I think it should be cheaper. Don't quote me, its been very long...

Personally I like to use Metezler M5. It nv fail me in corners right till it grain ur footpags n drag it out of the corner. But pocket reli burn alot n I reli mean alot. 2 sets of tyre in a year due to track n long distance ride. It's tested n proven tat it's a good tyre for wet n dry. Love them TTM. :)

Hi Guys, wonder if there is any FJR rider with the same height as me? I'm 1.65m. I worried that my legs are too short for this. :(

Are you riding FJR now? Or intending to get one?

I am 1.67m and I have to tip-toe when both legs are down.... but if I put right leg on the rear brake pedal, my left foot can rest fully on the ground.. the bike is slightly tilted but it doesn't weigh too heavy.

Thanks Bro for the reply! I am intending to get one, but only worry abt the seat height as I'm short. Do u have any idea what is the current 2nd hand price range?

Depends on what year you wanna get. I'm selling mine at just 14 months old. You may check out my tread posted at Used Bike Section.
