For those who are still waiting.........

FJR13 goes semi-auto

Yamaha has announced its FJR1300 is to be offered with a semi-automatic gearbox in 2006 – a first on a sports tourer.

You use buttons on the left hand bar to shift up and down.

Unlike twist-and-go scooters, which have constantly variable drive, the FJR will retain a conventional gearbox with individual ratios.

Today I bought a battery from Auto Machinery Supply Pte Ltd, 5 Verdun Road.

Model no: 5EA - 82100 - 11

Cost: $161.90

GST: $8.10

Total: $170.00

I think this battery is damn expensive, a normal car battery cost anything from $80 to $120 only.

Yamaha motorcycle manufacturer specially arrange for such a odd size so that we have no choice but to buy their original equipment. :sian:

Also bought a set of rear brake pads to replace my almost worn out brake pads.

Got it from Hong Leong, Yamaha Motorcycle division, 178 Paya Lebar Road.

Cost me $66.15 with GST.

Will fix them tomorrow if it don't rain

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

I didn't know that Auto Machinery is a Yamaha parts dealer, I thought they only sell the battery for Yamaha.

If I know that they are their dealer, I might have got the brake pad from them as well

I also thought that getting parts from a dealer should be cheaper.

Anyway I went to Hong Leong first to buy the pads and then ask for the battery which they quoted me $198.
