Piaggio stopped producing 400cc engines due to several factors... I wanted to wait for that MP3 version however the price quoted was over the price I'm willing to pay for a bike. Although it may have a better branding, it's not even a true 300cc bike too. Plus the fact that I have a Runner currently, I don't wish to have the same cost of maintenance.

The MP3 is an easy choice for a three wheeler if people are to ask me. However the perks of the AD3 are often come in a form of pleasurable surprise to the owner.

The price on the road is about $15K, + $550 for original box behind.....I think it is a bit X, but then you pay for you get, in terms of a fuss free ride, don't have to worry about loose tyres or bolts as they say their in house mechanic will go through with owner on bike ,all aspects, on delivery day to make sure all is 100%.

I get annoyed, when I buy a new bike and do so much to make it comfortable and worry about things, that should not happen, like buying problems home......BUT then that's me!

In all fairness, I think they carry only one brand, so they put 100% of their attention to it and do a good job, whereas the others carry so many brands and models, they become jack of all models and master of a lousy attitude.........

It is simple things like this and attitudes, that I am looking for, in my decision to buy a bike, that's why I gave up on the AD3. I will be getting the all weather kit as, my brother is going to Europe next month, so will ask him to arrange it for me. I may even go if my colleague is not taking xmas leave, will hand carry back as oversized luggage, but worried about the extreme cold.......

From the picture you posted, it seems that the model is the LT version. Frankly speaking I still have the kicks for the MP3. Hahaha! Maybe I shall wait till there's a used MP3 LT in the market and trade my Runner for it. :p

All in all, you won't regret in getting a 3 wheeler. At least I never did!

Btw, as I mentioned, there seems and interesting design in the mudflaps and there seem to be cuts and perforation which is cut into the mudflaps, maybe someone can go see and explain......I am just curious to learn from the experts.

Created this in spare time.

As expected, AD3 is prone to have electrical add-ons therefore it is ideal to have a electrical power distribution block instead of making multiple point of tapping into existing wiring.

I made this to tap power directly from the battery, two pair output always on(alarm) and four pairs for accessories that needs power only when bike is switched on.

An 30A inline fuse is added for protection. Total cost me less than $10.

I worry about the performance of the canopy. One, it doesn't come with wiper and two it looks like it may catch a lot of wind.

Do let update us.

Initially I ordered that, but got lost in shipping so I got a refund and got this instead. 4 channel output, MP3/FM radio with waterproof handlebar controls. Separately ordered a pair of 3" pod speaker to insert into the front vent and another pair of 3.5" to place somewhere at the

No updates from the shop I wanted to get to install the mp3 player, so I ordered a set that is quite similar to Andre's. Except it has MP3 player built in, but no line-in port.

Still waiting for it to reach SG.

I saw this while browsing online too. The blue surround looks quite nice IMO.

Word of caution that add on accessories must not be the heavy current consumption type. Radio or MP3 player or LED lightings are said to be ok....

I once tried to increase the front head lights from current 35/35 wattage to 55/35 wattage that to notice the voltage meter drop from daily dynamo charging voltage of 13.5 to 14 volts and found it had drop to 11 to 11.5 volts....

Whenever brakes is apply to the bike, the radio always cuts off which to further notice the voltage meter reading drop to about 9.5 to 9.7 volts.

Now that I've change the light bulbs back to orginal recommended 35/35 that everything are back to normal......

It would be best that the weather kit has to include the wiper as part of the retrofit kit.... The front windscreen visuality is almost close to blindness by the water droplets in a downpour if is left unwept....

Thanks for your kind reminder, adiva89. I have no intention to attach the headlights to this and power consumption of the accessories is calculated to be within range.

Actually the most power hungry accessory I can think of is grip heaters which we dont use in our climate. I will be attaching alarm, camera, speaker, rpm gauge, LEDs which is all I can think of now and all is relatively low powered compared to that. The advantage of this setup is can easily add on and remove accessories in the future without the need to solder/terminate/cut wires after the first time, just use the screw to fasten.

Also it has its own fuse so you wont blow any original fuse on the bike. Let say you tap(share) power from the wire harness for a device and it short circuits, a fuse will blow. If the power was shared with the speedometer then it will be out too, until you replace a fuse. And certain fuses are absolutely necessary for the engine to start.

It had happened to me before so I do this in anticipation of adding more items to the bike. So I'm sharing this just in case someone here also interested to attach more than one or two accessory the proper way.

I highly concur with bro adiva89 had considered getting the MP3 400 in the past and retrofitting the canopy + screen, but drawing on my experience with the 1st gen adiva I know wiper is a MUST especially in rainning stop and go traffic. This reason alone was enough to make me hold out until the AD3 arrived.

When you are riding behind a car, the finer droplets or mist on the windscreen diffracts the brake light into a dazzling display. It would be very dangerous to ride in that state. You might consider applying a hydrophobic treatment to the windscreen to pre empt the situation.

Thanks for the advice, I think a huge dose of the RAIN X is definitely a must regardless of wipers or not......but

I will read up and work from there, my brother is due to leave next month, so timing is important......due to the xmas season.

Please be warn and abstain from using rain-X product or similar chemical as this would blur and yellow the polycarbonate material windscreen....

They only works well on glass or the windscreen of cars.....

My friend got me to warn and to stop fellow forumers whom has the intent to use rain-x product on their ADtre windscreen or plastic parts on their bikes.....his previous Adiva AD200 windscreen was damaged due to windscreen turn blur and discolorisation......after applying the rain-X.....

Thanks for the contribution and suggestion to improvise the add on gadget for the electrical connections....

It be an advantage if you able to provide further details on the breakdown items require and entails the complete circuit connections diagram?

This shall entice fellow forumers interest whom may not of electrical background but with the guided instructed steps shall able to produce the gadget.....

Thanks for the info......I will go find out more n buy one when the all weather shields comes in.

My friend whom once owns a MP3 wanted the canopy but the 2k to 3k price deter his wishes for shelter....

For pricing analysis between AD3 300 @$14,200 and verus MP3 300 @$18,550 (bike 15k, box $550 plus canopy estimated $2.5k) note estimate modify wiper system at $500......

He also mentioned that the workshop services has nothing to brag about either.... when he bring his MP3 in for service, was declined and told to call them first for appointment.....

That was before on the mentioned service atititute but now is nice to know that their sales rep Mark is professional and helpful.

Sorry can only come up with this lousy drawing.

Thank Ben for the info.

I have all the components except the relay. Was thinking to go down to SL tower to get one, then after looked at your pic then I realized I actually have a horn relay which I ever installed. lol

Btw, do we need to loop the neutral? I normally just connect to the nearest metal body as return.
