Bikes no mod for intercoolers, turbos etc ma but pound for pound bike mods are more expensive but cars are more expensive overall.

 

But the difference is, no matter how you mod your car, you can almost not escape the LTA in Singapore while driving, riding, no jam can run, got jam even better.

 

That's not the issue here anyway, issue is why we have a moron running the LTA.

even if your led light onli lights up when u brake.

 

 

LOL fire. If you do the wiring properly and ensure all terminals are properly insulated there is no risk. LEDs are low powered solid state devices, unlike the fuucking incandescent light bulb. Which is more the fire hazard?

Makes one question on how these people become engineers by providing such a respond. If they do have the supposedly credentials and experiences to be one then they are a disgrace to all engineers and a hypocrite to engineering. :sly:

Ban all these Kuching kura shops from doing wiring, if improperly installed by inadequately trained personnel, there will be fire hazard (or so they say).

 

Say must be installed by LTA-approved electrician.

 

Start LTA scheme for accredited auto-electrical technicians.

 

Charge training/accreditation fee, yearly recertification and renewal.

 

Outsource.

 

Raise taxes via Road Tax for bikes etc to cover cost of said scheme.

Pretty peeved with the LED signal lights clamp down. I couldn't clear my annual bike inspection with my OEM LED signals (though they were meant for a later model year..) and had to pop back to my bike shop just to Frankenstein some dangly lightbulbs to clear Vicom. Bloody hassle.

I heard a stock Pulsar failed inspection at a Vicom...just when you think these dogs cannot be anymore stupid. Everything was bone stock still can fail, obviously the head of LTA is just some d!ck on a crusade against bikes or perhaps all vehicles. Overloaded trucks is not a concern but modified pipes are, his mother suck my pipe better. Stock but good.

Most of the time, tales from friend's friend/ neighbour's uncle/ colleague's brother had to be taken with a huge pinch of salt.

That LED is not allowed is common knowledge, enforced for years already.

When I was at the VICOM some months back, they are checking those aftermarket exhausts in detail. But so long as you got the cert, noise baffle in, you shouldnt run into any problems.

 

For the formality of passing the test, just remove those unapproved modifications. Life goes on.

 

Saw a few burnt bikes at the shops before, some obviously originated from the poor wiring and probably connections to aftermarket parts.

When modifications are done by sub standard shops/ mechanics, the issue of passing the annual test is minor compared to the potential damage to your bike.

any1 tried writing in to lta before? if didn't, let's write in. i don't mind drafting a letter. But in order to have some impact, pictures, research studies/evidences/surveys/ are necessary. who is willing to chip in?

 

eg. evidences that led signal lights are proven to be brighter and more visible to road users, pictures to go along with it, stock and led signal lights.

 

they are more focused on catching what's easy to generate revenue from us instead of catching what is really more dangerous for the road users.

 

I really don't see how exhaust wraps, led signal lights, pole lights, aftermarket adjustable rearsets, weld repaired exhaust can be more dangerous than a douche on a road oblivious to its surrounding, driving like he owns the road.
