I need help!

On many occasions, petrol has been stolen from my phantom 200. I really need help here.

Do anyone knows of any method or shop which are able to custom make locks so that I could lock the petrol switch? To prevent the thief from turning on the petrol tank and stealing the petrol.

Or if any one have any good suggestions, please do share your ideas.

Thank you.

I think there's no such mechanism on the market now. Maybe you wan to check with your mech for latest gizmo to scare off those low life f***ers who steal petrol for their vehicles. Phantom are v prone to petrol theft,as there's an inlet tube leading to the tank which pranksters can steal from it. I shant expose soo much or else many phantom bikes would suffer.

There's a thread up in Phantom Knights talking about petrol theft. Search it up. Hope the Knights can help you. :p

They do? I mean the Phantom knights have a thread on it?

Thanks man. I will go search it up.

You have no idea how much effort I have put to try stop the thief.

I even tried putting notices at the car park asking residents to help take note.

Hahaha. Thanks man. Wow. U seems more angry than me.

I really super piss for with this petrol thief lor. For the past 2 years liao. Once a month I will kanna. Thought of selling the bike but dun know wat to buy.

I need a cheap and easy maintain bike. I live in Bedok and everyday must ride to sch to NTU. Image the distance.

I read up the petrol thief thread at the Phantom Knight there liao. OK not too bad, got a few ideas which I think I can give it a try.

I can't park my bike near the wall, cos no slot there. LOL. Wait i park there kanna summon for parking at a non parking spot.

I may try using the cover again and this time using pad locks to lock the cover. C if can work. Kind of worry cannot as I am the only phantom bike in my area liao. (The other uncle riding phantom has a custom lock for his petrol switch. So only me left unarm.)

Haha

honestly speaking, I thought of that before. Ambush the idiot. But this thief does not do it on a weekly basis, is more like a monthly basis. So i kind of hard to plan when to do the ambush unless I can afford 30 days of no sleep and camp out there.

I actually thought of going simlink and get a spy cam. Than put in my box or wat, than can catch the guy red handed.

Every fuel tank should have a breather hose that allows air into the tank so that the petrol can flow out. Now pinch this hose, just fold it and clip it. The idea is like putting your finger on a straw to draw out water from a cup. With the breather choked, the petrol will only flow out abit before it stops.

ya i also thought that it will be difficult to catch the theif. He is in the dark while we are in the light!

Hi ANR Impex,

I am quite interested in your recommendation. About this breather hose thing.

Sorry for being a noob, but could you kindly provide me with more details on where I can locate this hose? Is it around the petrol switch?

Thank you.

Oh yeah, for the pumping of petrol half tank, is kind of a trouble for me as from my sch to room there is no petrol station. I would to take a detour. Than from my house East to sch West every day, u can imagine if I only pump half tank, how many times I would need to go petrol station. HAhaha. Thanks for the advice anyway. Appreciate the help I am getting here.

Thanks

Ah.... Jfor_Jimmy1986

Petrol can be stolen from phantom quite easily, but I kind of do not want to spread the way it can be done even though I believe alot of ppl already know how to.

Hope u can understand my intentions. I do not kind of wish to increase the amount of thief.

* I not referring that you will be come a thief. PLease dun misunderstand.

Don’t overlook the possibility of a defective vacuum operated fuel c*cok + defective carburetor float needle which allow the gasoline to overflow from the carburetor and sip through your intake valve, passes the piston rings and eventually accumulating in your oil sump when you park your bike. Please perform a simple check, remove your engine oil dip stick and smell your engine oil for the scent of gasoline. If you smell strong gasoline smell in your engine oil, it’s worth to check your fuel c*cok and the float needle :thumb:

Lift up your fuel tank. Most tanks will have 2 rubber tubes (other than the one that contain fuel) connected to the bottom of the tank. One tube is to drain fuel/water that might collect in the area under the edge of the fuel tank cap, the other is the breather. Identify the drain tube (be imaginative), and you know which tube u want to clip.

Support this idea. :thumb:

Let them have a closer look out instead. It should help to deter a bit if the petrol is frequent. However, it is worth taking a look at the other suggestion mentioned by others too. :thumb:
