since u going ns soon. might as well wait till u finish ur bmt and course before you go buy whatever bike you want. becos if you going to get a bike , u are just wasting it. no time to ride one.

Delay the purchase. If you're going OCS or SISPEC, you won't be riding it for at least 8 months to almosta year.

That's why I sold my Mito. :sian:

My opinion, is that whether you get it no or than doesnt really make a difference. However, getting it later does offer you the opportunity of comparing a bigger picture and some time to think it through what bike you want.

Just a question. Is there still a need for NSF riders to have cleared defensive riding course before they are allowed to ride to and from from camp?

Posted

i would say phantom ta200. yes you still need to clear defensive riding in which SAF would pay half of $50 you pay.

i've been riding to camp daily... and not much problem..and fuel economy is 35 km per litre.

Wat they said is true bro. wait until finish BMT den buy lor. den best is you go other motor shop see see look look first before buying. good luck in your BMT.

I seriously think you wont have time to ride any bike. Even if your home is far away from the camp, keeping a bike out there for a week without moving it will be problematic. Second, you wont know what happened to your bike until you come out of your camp.

Also, resist the dark force, and when you enter bmtc, you wont have the time to think of it. :)

but also .. think before you buy. paying $15 monthly to park is not really worth it.

wait till you get your posting after your BMT.

yupz.. best is wait till u hav a perm posting..

whether phantom or sports bike?? my suggestion is

if u wan to save $$, then buy phantom for 2B ride(only 1 yr nia).. y? coz u can save alot, ie: insurance for ur age/riding experience on phantom is much much much cheaper than sportsbikes... FC.. and so on......

or, if u can't resists the temptation of chiong-ing in sportsbike, or u r too damn rich to even nid to worry abt $$$.. then go for sportbikes lor...

:cheeky: after bmt... i got think of that too but if enlistment is december or so? will it be troublesome to have a bike.. as some of you say if dun ride the bike, it will be problematic also.. and now thinking of financial status during NSF i think get a phantom shld be a better choice huhz.. i agree that just ride for the first year and change into bigger bike.. anyway really really thanks alot for all the valuable advises... i got a clearer picture now... between got a question puzzle me too.. i am 1.82m in height.. will it be a problem for me to be sport bike owner?? :thumb:

fwah... 1.82m ride nsr will look like giant on a bicycle. Lol... I know, cause I'm 1.77 and it takes some geeting used to. Would also agree its better to get phantom. Since your enlistment is Dec you might as well start riding now. Get used to the bike, better still get your defensive riding course on your own. Sometimes army do things ah... i tell you, the defensive riding course available for you to learn thru army that time ah, maybe you ORD liao. So.. might as well clear it now while your time is free. Some camp may have restrictions on servicemen tiding into camp, so be prepared. My camp last time my CSM was a fuc*er, corporal and below cannot ride into camp, sergent also end stage nearly ORD then can. Only officers can ride in, cause my CSM rank not big enough.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

thats what i'm talking about... but anyway, its not about ranks when they restrict soldiers from riding in... its for the good of the soldiers... CSM is a higher appointment then PC anyway (ranks aside).

CSM and PC is answerable for each individual soldier... so maybe when you're of higher rank in saf (i assumed you're on of them then kenna ******* by your csm ;) ) then you'll understand why restrictive measures on bikes are emplaced...

2 cents though... cheers!
