A good riding jacket and gloves are good stuff, but a pair of good EARPLUGS are crucial, too! The wind noise will drive you nuts! I strongly suggest anyone who intend to travel long distances to get yourself some quality earplugs (like ER20).

bad cos now i hv to share the load of buying wax lah, shampoo lah and all the jazz

Aiyoh, every expensive meh????

My 2 cents is, a cheap soap, but the best wax.....and kerosene or diseal as degreasser.

I use a spray bottle, spray the soap on the sponge direct to soap my bike. More efficient. I illegally use gahment watah.......using a hose with a controllable valve, so at least watah not flowing non stop lah.

But kind neighbours keep reminding me "Aiyoh!!!! Ah tee......careful ah!!!! Wait police catch......" and I sheepishly said "Thanks huh!!!" but hey!!! I'm always using the water hose, ha ha......I also use bucket lah, but using the watah there is not right in the first place.

Wow.....yeah, I can imagine the fog after the storm at that area. East coast. I was in Dalaware for a short while before, went to New York, cross the Canadian Border to see the Fall, Alantic City cutting thru New Jersey (hometown of Jon Bon Jovi???).....but the bad thing is, all trips were done on car, I was not even driving.....only a passenger. How boring, but I have no choice.

Regret not getting my bike license in the States, as I was not far sighted. I ONLY assume getting a license in the States is to convert it back to a Sg bike license, which I do not see the point as I already have my 2A.......I never thought of being able to ride in the States as during my time there, as I'm not allowed. Getting caught on one (other than learning in a riding center for the license) would result in my arse getting exile, in the label of a "bad boy".....

But now I regret.....if I have the license, at least I could ride a fren's bike while I'm visiting my in-laws in CA......taking 3 days to get a license while I'm there on vacation??? Unlikely. o_O

I really envy you man...... :thumb:

Tp made a comment abt my rear p plate cos it's kinda placed in a rather awkward position but i told him tat it's the bike shop tat did it for me and it had been like that since day 1. in the end he can't summon me for anything just to warn me abt riding a bit fast on a then 50km rd and let me go. i was pretty heng

No need to envy lah. Singapore has got its good points. The affordable and accessible PG track, a nice 2nd link and NSH to work your engine, and lots of petrol stations and rain shelters.

Imagine the panic I felt when my bike started running on reserve and it was over 30 miles back to town. I was so desperately looking for a gas station! Plus no rain shelter for miles! :giddy:

Riding in the States is surely a lot of fun, but I feel that it is way more risky here. I am not going anywhere out of my town without gloves and jacket.

Yeah.....in US, it's more travelling......places are farther. The ppl there can be real friendly or the other way around. :giddy: Sg prices if compared to per Gal is around USD$3.75 for Ron 95. Kekeke.....expensive here but less miles to cover. And the option of overseas cheap gas.

I will be figuring how far is Laguna Seca from Oakland, CA. Or maybe the track upwards (nrth) at San Jose......most likely if I'm going USA to work in the future, I'll be staying in San Frans or Oakland......

I still have to go track.....else the brain will rot. Track using bikes or cars??? Hopefully both!!!!

In CA, I can wear my leathers all day long, ha ha!!!! The weather there, sunny but cooling!!!! Great for sweathogs like me.

Working niteshift is the best, as I get to go to work later (hence missing the mad peak hr rush, less hazardous rd users) and coming home after midnight when I work late, the rd is mine.......nothing to piss me off at all!!! Literally shiokness 100% :thumb:

Thanks for the tip! I am going to Jersey to visit a classmate, so I will be riding their, lock it up in the garage (she lives in a house), and then drive around (or get driven around) in her car or take public.

I wish I can go to Laguna Seca to watch USA MotoGP, but I think tickets are out, and airfare there from NY state is not cheap. I guess I am stuck with watching MotoGP webcast on motogp.com.

i second that. it rocks! tea break can go jb put petrol!!!

Today , not riding , so took a bus due to the rain , then was left out of the bus .

Reason :friendly n warm passengers .

The story : Was planning to go china square earlier , as it was raining , t i decided to take a bus , when the bus came , i was 1st in queue , but the door didnt open n i saw the driver urging the passengers to move further behind , but i can c that the whole bunch of humans r stuck to each other liker glue , not even moving an inch ,l then the bus LL , have to move off , then to my horror , the rear of the bus has enuff space to fit an elephant . :faint:

Thanx ppl , now i know the reason y i ride bike liao , looks like the gracious society we have , has cultivated ppl who r "friendly" n "warm" , n like to stick to each other .

Or many the rear of the bus is "dirty " .

*sigh* duno y they like to stick to the door.. probably worried that they can't get down at the stop they want and the bus will move off.. :giddy:

usually i will force myself up the bus if i see alot of space behind... just to force the pple to move to the back...
