wOW tOday i dono doing what sia. was on the "right turn" lane and wanna turn right to expressway but donno y i nv close trottle till too fast and saw e curb liao cannot corner liao , go straight against e way and later i u turn(filter lane) back to e expressway.. lucky no car no TP . if not lolz .. and lucky nth happen . if i nv pillion my GF i try to corner pass alr , but scare she hurt :X

i dun understand y cars wanna tail gate bikers very very closely, give way liao still wanna play, i dun understand, is it to show tat bike is inferior to cars???

For the first time after one and a half years of riding in Phoenix, Arizona.... some lady driver actually cut into my lane without signalling causing me to have to swerve into the next lane to avoid collision.

 

No time to press the horn button even.

 

The strange thing is I did not have to do or say anything. It was the other drivers who saw what happened that were horning at her and gesticulating at her telling her she is crazy.

 

Vehicles here tend to give way to bikes here alot. I find it weird but its nice.

Yeah true. In case of emergency, my mind goes blank at times.. and i dun reach out for horn at all.. I try my best to swerve out only.. BUt within dat split second, i will use my mirror to check before swerving.. It jus happens automatically coz very used to checking mirrors before changing lane.

i agree... when i had an accident and was lying on the road shoulder... i could see cars crawling past me, ppl are pointing and commenting... only bikers stop and came rushing to my aid and lifting my bike up.

Although I both drive and ride, but I feels that ridders are generally more united compared to drivers out there. Sometimes during traffic light stops, stranger ridders sometimes smile to each other and at times chat a little. thumb up for all fellow ridders:thumb:

50% of the drive still see us , but they just heck care. When going straight road near traffic lane , the car at opp lane can see incoming liao but still proceed to turn when u come near to the junction then they know they cannot go pass and stop in the middle of the junction .I had to jam my brake .Hate this kind of driver which they think their car veri fast :angry: ]

Just wondering, I heard that you can be sued for showing the finger on the road? Is that true?

 

Anyways if I encounter such "skillful" drivers as these, I'll give them a thumbs-up. If they're smart enough, they still know what I truly mean. That way I won't get sued! Lame, I know, sorry..

Just when i escaped frm a major accident myself, witnessed one of the most major accident ever in singapore jus now.

 

WAs on d way with family frm newton towards wdls.. ON PIE.. suddenly vehicles slowed down.. dad predicted correctly that confirm d other side gt accident n so every1 slow down to see.. and we aso did d same.. haha..

 

TO MY BIG HORROR,, I SAW A a few lorries(around 3) all over on PIE.. and d LONGEST LORRY overturned occupying all 3 lanes of PIE.. and there was a van stuck under it.. i really hope no bikes involved.. dunno wat was d cause of accident but d lorry really overturn sia.. VERY LONG LORRY sia.. one of d longest i ever seen.. didnt noe such a lorry can overturn aso.. pity d van stuck under it.. and pity d ppl who wil be involved in clearing it..

 

On d way towards town earlied ard 8pm aredi i saw d sign sayin PIE(CHANGI AIRPORT) closed.. at d particular exit there.. and on d way back jus nw still like dat.. so d accident stuff cant be cleared i guess.. will take very long time.

 

Those using PIE CHANGI AIRPORT STARTING frm bke.. pls avoid it.. even if u dun.. u will be diverted to exit at one of d exits. if nt mistaken i tink lornie.

 

After seeing dat incident, dad asked me to be careful on d road frm now on. And now, thats really an eye opening experience..

 

RIDE/DRIVE Safely ppl.. stay away frm reckless drivers.. nowdays even BIG LORRIES ARE involved in accidents. Scary.

One of a methods I use which I find very useful is when I know there's a car near me, I'll keep my finger and thumb on the both the high beam and horn on standby and keep an eye on the vehicle in case they do something funny, which mainly is change lane while not knowing you're next to them. I'll also be more attentive to both my brakes in case I need to do any sudden braking. Oh, I also standby an evil eye to stare at the driver with and a finger to flip when needed. hee

 

I find this method helps me a lot to allow me to ride without much stress. I also get to use more evil eyes and flippy fingers than high beams and horns. hahaha

 

hahahx..my dad drives too but he's not one of those a$$ drivers out there..

 

anyways..yea, good point, having ur fingers at the ready at the horn & high beam..usually my hands & feet r on extra alert on clutch & brakes & gear pedal during those 'testing' times..lols..

 

standard one lah... there are cases of cars on lane 2 of eway... cannot anticipate the exit... last min cut into my lane which is lane 3... expect me to give way when the car is right beside me. tried to slow down but lorry on lane 3 is tailgating me.

 

makes me wonder, slow down, wait lorry bang me. don't slow down, that idiot from lane 2 just don't give a damn to my horns. (if i am driving a 10axle lorry, i would have run that car over...) in the end, the car just come in and ebrake, forcing me to ebrake and that lorry also ebrake. knnbccb...

 

ppl who use PIE(Tuas) the exit from clementi ave 6 and bukit batok shd know. its a crap when u have cars trying to exit to bukit batok and cars from clementi ave 6 joining PIE.

anyways..just now while i was lane splitting at a road after exit aye, a orange n yellow bus from the right lane suddenly wanna change lane w/o signalling..i was squeezed btw the bus and a car..boths lanes slow moving or stopped..i just chionged to get out of the squeezy spot..haix, lucky sia, the car beside me saw n gave way..or else me n my bike roti prata already..bus driver shud haf signalled, at least i can stop and/or react accordingly..*shakes head*

Yah, many times. When I went in my carpark, there will be either a CAR or BIKE tailing me behind. everyday...
