was on pie towards changi, heading to work..

need to filter onto the off-ramp leading to TPE, 1 idiot driver started to drift out of his lane and i honked at him.. he still continue to drift out slowly, so i LL have to take evasive action and keep to the edge of my lane and overtake him..

stare at him while i overtook him, he gave the 'i have the right of way look' back at me.. and once i overtook him, he completed his drift into my lane.. i wun call it filter, cause he didn't even filter nor lane change.

he completed his drift and was tailing me closely.. i was about to take the bend, drop a gear, jam a bit of rear brake to slow down, the bugger behind got stunned and dare not play with me again..

unsafe, but sometimes alittle too hot-headed when meetin this kind of drivers.. do not follow me!!

while riding today... wanna take another route back home

reach this down slope and its converging lane as I move in I turn on my right signal... check my mirror and blindspot whenever two lane about to merge.

Approaching the last merging lane, speed up a little, mirror is clear and check blindspot. A black BMW 3 series by my side now. Whenever I travel there vehicles just don't give a damn to me... wonder if i'm slow hogging their lane...

aiyo, cars won't expect bike to slow down at bends cos most drivers are used to cornering at higher speeds (cars can corner faster than bikes). careful dun play brakes with cars. i know that when im driving i wouldnt wanna play brakes with a container truck! o_Oo_O

Not all cars. The average MPV and saloon can't take the corners that fast. They wobble.

However the Type-Rs, WRXs, Evos and anything above those classes. Now those you gotta watch out for. They can outbrake and turn with you anytime. What you have that they don't is acceleration out of the bends.

haha eh i know u racer got skill to corner, I was just comparing the normal transportation bikes to cars haha, i know sports bike, motards very capable at cornering~ but its still not wise to play play corner with a car tailgating anyways, i heard cars like to eat motorbikes nowadays and spit the rider out from the exhaust pipe~

had a bad day at work today, feeling very moody, i also dunno why la... have to admit i did something reckless and even immatuer while riding home from work... so here goes my story

this malay p-plate rider on a kup (looks like a yamaha spark) tried to play punk with me, while waiting to move off as the traffic light turned green, he tried to overtake me dangerously from behind and that was enough to ignite me.... perhaps he see phantom no up, think can makan easily, but he didnt notice my phantom is a 150cc 2-stroker (some say, it is a SP in disguise of a unglamourous cruiser). he pick a fight with a wrong ride.... so i decide to play along and whack throttle and let him smell my 2T. 135cc 4 stroke wanna play with 150cc 2 stroke...haha, joker.

well well, little did i know, he still wanna play for the next 2 junctions we stopped at... foolish rider. tried to play drag with me, each time i let him smell 2T smoke... it was not even a close fight...

for some reason, i had the oomph kind of feeling within me when i taught him a lesson. it was stress relieving! like some of the pent up frustrations were released! for some reason my experience with kups, 80% of the time are unpleasant ones be it JiuHu kias or locals.

Yeah, thinking back, it was kind of uneccessary and dangerous, not good for my engine either as i really subject it to extreme stresses, really dragged it hard. but well, that poor malay rider chose to play punk with me at a wrong time...

same same. i wont play brakes wif a container truck too ! and also, i wont lane change infront of a trailer, big lorry and their close cousins. once, i lane changed infront of this trailer, to filter towards jurong island, kena horn big time by that trailer. super duper shocked . the horn so loud summore!

today whilst riding !

didn't expect the rain to come. when i left home, east side was sunny. as i was approaching clementi, strong winds literally blew me from one lane to another. then it started drizzling. i thought, okay, still can make it to work safely. then omg ! it started raining cats & dogs when bfore entering jurong island. i was already shivering coz of the cold. and the big puddles caused from the unevenness of the road at jurong island was a killer ! felt my bike fishtail several times ~ zzz ~

otw back home,

entered AYE > ECP after pasir panjang there ... the cars on 2nd lane wanted to filter and get into the 1st lane to enter AYE. i was stucked between four cars. the car infront of me (car A) on lane 2 tried to get into lane 1 fr quite some time. but the car infront of me on lane 1 (car B) refused to gave way. when i managed to squeeze in btween car A and B, i noticed that the driver of car A was sitting in quite a weird position. i looked into the car , it was a lady driver, sitting in a very very relaxed position, left elbow resting on the dunno what tat thing is called, TALKING ON THE PHONE!!!

just as i was lane splitting, i kicked a taxi coz it caused me to hit onto the car on my right .. just what on earth was he thinking? lane change? lane change what lane change ! traffic moving so slow, beside him also no space to lane change. never signal and straight away move to the right.

oh ya, yesterday an army dude rode past me, very close, giving me a shock. guess he saw my reaction through his mirror, and he raised his left hand as a gesture of sorry.

sometimes, little gestures like this is enough to make my day, especially after a long hard day at work.

+1 on watching out for those. Some of them can be quite good, especially those who go Gudang. Bikers are not the only trackies after all  The Type-R is pretty impresive on youtube with the right driver, but not so impressive if they dive deep into the bend alongside you while braking.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Yup, it was uneccessary and dangerous, but the ta150 engine is quite capable of handling abuse. Oh... and high revving for this engine is not considered abuse, though we don't get a tachometer for it...

Some are good, and its rather fun to dive in together watching each other... then powering out of the corner leaving the car behind before the driver can finish saying "nice looking bike..." :cheeky:

Some good habits can be picked up from track riding.

Despite what BBDC or whatever says... it is safer to downshift first before braking for the corner regardless of your speed. The higher the rpms the safer you are then you can make use of the engine braking... all you need to do is close the throttle and the bike will pull into the corner instead of drifting out.

And to make the bike turn faster into the corner... trail brake on the front brake into the corner. That changes the geometry of the bike..ie lowers the front allowing it to turn easier.

Never, never use the rear brake when going fast into a corner.. confirm crash.

Go to a track like Tuas to learn how to ride fast...you will be surprise how effective the front brake is and how well it makes your tyre grip when trail braking.

woah! thanks a lot bro for the info! i learnt that by trial and error. that's the thing i wonder about. bbdc teach me not to use front brake when cornering but i prefer to push my load to the front when cornering by using front braking. when you say trail brake, what do you mean? just brake a bit enough to transfer the load to the front eh?

my father teach me not to accelerate and NEVER clutch in when on the turn. i NEVER clutch in when turning but usually, i used brake halfway and accelerate out of the turn. by letting engine brake control the turn, i just don't feel safe.

and bbdc teach me to use rear brake when turning. but i NEVER use my rear brake ever. rear brake is only for emergency only. i don't know if i'm right or wrong but it's nice to hear you share the same sentiments as me.

Listening to music while riding on the NSH makes sense to keep out the boredom and sleepiness. But to listen to music while riding on Singapore roads... thats abit dangerous IMHO.

Situational awareness helps you survive on Singapore roads. I like to hear the sound of the engine and the bike when on the move and also keeps me aware of the vehicles around me.

but soft enough to hear the surroundings while listening to music should be safe enough right? cos i listen to music ALL the time and i can still hear stupid cars honking behind me thinking that i should give way to them on lane 1 of normal roads when i'm already travelling at 60km/hr.

aiyo, cars won't expect bike to slow down at bends cos most drivers are used to cornering at higher speeds (cars can corner faster than bikes). careful dun play brakes with cars. i know that when im driving i wouldnt wanna play brakes with a container truck! o_Oo_O

really? where do you always ride? cos for me, i always think that cars always play safe. they brake super damn early, then they negotiate the turn ever so slowly, after the turn, then they stomp on the accelerator. too many times this kind of thing happen until i never queue behind when going into filter lane. just cut from the side can already. even for a slight bend on the road, all their brake lights will come out! seriously, those cars that you've said just belong to small minority of drivers la.

you can be the best rider in the world, but out there on the road, all it takes is just an idiotic driver to bump you off.

TOTALLY AGREED!!! so many times i rode the BKE>SLE bend in MY OWN lane but some cars think that's a race track. they can happy happy use both lanes to negotiate through the S curved road. they think F1 is it? only my horn will make them shift back to 1 lane. be careful guys when going on the outside of a tight bend. watch out for cars beside you. for me, most of the time, they tend to go fast and somehow, drift closer towards me. and most of these situations, i'm out of their blindspots and a horn is required to make them stick in their own lane. so do be careful!

in this past 1 week, so many things happen to my bike. 3 days ago, my bike cannot e-start or kickstart. need to push start sia to bike shop. and push start a scrambler is tough!! need my friend to help me get it moving! after changing spark plug, then can kick start already but still cannot e-start. phew! and the bike shop still dare to ask me to leave my bike at the shop while he find out the problem. i just told him to change the spark plug and we'll see how it goes. it turned out well and he charged me $7 for it!! neighbourhood shops seem to be expensive eh?

that 1 incident over already but the following morning, i walked to my bike and saw a long slash over my bike seat!! wah!! damn long sia! almost 1 metre and 5cm deep!! confirm use pen knife! sigh... need to spend another $30 or so to get eugene to fix up the seat.

today while riding..

traffic smooth.

few days back. wasnt riding. jalan raya aka go out w family on hari raya. transportation. daddy's taxi. i asked him. why he didnt put those blind spot mirror on the side mirror like i see some cars/cabs do.

he said.

"Only stupid drivers do that. What are rear view mirrors for."

i wanted to laugh at that. it was funny to me.

and my dad is the only person ever who inspired me ever since young to want to take up driving. when i see him drive, it makes me wanna take up driving too. but other drivers make driving such a freaking bore. and the public makes cars seem even boring. 'safe' la what la. bike dangerous la.pui.

i digress.

i love traffic today.

and sleepy. super.
