This is why I say drivers makes riding dangerous. If rider never check and did that then the rider die but if driver never check and did that still rider die. Thankfully you are safe.

Which is why i always advocate riding faster than the dumbarses in case they play stunt right beside you.

@duo. Was driving. Lol. Bike no install camera yet. But i feel really need. But must ensure we tahan e problem and religiously use it!!

that is my error, good touring bike , but not good on sg road, to me la, need to keep withing certain rpm,if not got the irritating bogging

Well I agree good female drivers r rare but there r. Maybe in our country due to stress, blur, high rate of smart phones, the numbers r even lower. Just consider e fact tat we see so many bad male drivers around, it is only natural tat for every female driver we see, it may also be bad.

 

Another reason y good female drivers r rare is becoz of human behavior. If the car in front, beside, behind or anywhere around u drives nicely, properly, professional, etc, do u bother to see if they r male or female? ^^ So even if u see a good female driver, u may not ve notice tat it is female driving. =D

 

For me, it is the same when i drive/ride. When the vehicle in front is using the road nicely, i dun check. But when using the road poorly, i will look and think "*****/*******" depending on the gender... This actually leads to a false impression of personal opinion of a high percentage of lousy road users...

 

For me, i noe of at least 1 good female drivers (My gf drives better than me) and ve seen a fair share of good female drivers. But base on my own opinion, i am surprise tat it is more likely to see a good female driver than a good male driver... ._. Just my opinion.

while walking i also check blind spot alot. Even on pavements or in shopping malls, i also "check clear" before "lane changing". ^^

Kudos bro. Same same. Lol. Maybe becoz i big size ba so i dun wan accident knock into a small size lady or grandma calibre later trouble many many.

 

But kanna kids often. Becoz didnt c them. Worst case was i knee e face of a kid. ._. bo pian, e parent allow kids anyhow run. But i still apologize. But if e parent scold me then "lai liao"!!

Just now while riding from KJE-BKE, at the bend connecting into BKE, this Peugeot 2 door sports car SKA8**9Z swerve into my lane within 1 sec & I had to E-BRAKE to avoid hitting his rear left wheel side! I held my horn but he just continue in my lane. It was just 1 meter in front of me! I wanted to confront him but he ignore me while I'm on his right side. No choice, gotta let it go

he said he got his license in 1984 (I guess he's at least 46 now) and called the 2 of us young boys and slandered that I'm driving my father's car... >.> noob....

 

old uncle still need to get taught the law by 2 working adults aged 29 and 30 about the laws and what not...

 

what a disgrace to Singaporeans... really wanted to tell him "I pity your children, for having such a sad example of a father like you"...

Record evidence. Keep report to tp. Word of mouth, forums, etc encourage everyone not to lose hope and help report any dangerous road users. 1 pf us wont ve a effect. But if we spread and spread and get more pple on board to help report maybe e society will be able to tone down on this dangerous road usage.

i had my close shave. but there was really nothing i can do but thank whoever up there that i am still in one piece in spite of someone else's plain disregard for other roadusers.

A rough diagram of what happened on 12 Jan 2012 ard 11pm along Penang Rd.

 

The tip of the red arrow indicates where the front of the bus was, and the orientation shows roughly the bus' direction and position as it drove out of the bus bay, and cut across the road, without wanting to wait for Bus 1 in front to move off.

 

And yours truly is the blue arrow, who veered into the rightmost lane to avoid the bus as it came out into the middle lane and then into half of the rightmost lane, and my having to squeeze between bus and kerb to avoid a collision. No chance to look behind for cars coming up... but a car did brake hard and it was an Ah Beng who also swore at the bus driver as we all stopped at the Killiney Rd junction. Self-control kept me on my bike instead of banging on the bus door and giving the bus driver lecture.

 

Instead, I rode all the way to Bt Batok interchange and gave the bus office there a verbal tirade. They kept apologising but I told them why apologise for a bad driver? And better still, they told me that guy got his licence for a month... and I said, that's horrible, and I almost got killed by him. I told him that I had literally plucked my life back from Death himself! They asked me to wait till he returned to the interchange but I said, no need because there is no use.

 

 

Someone up there surely loves me deep deep...

 

To Mr Bus Driver of SMRT 106 with plate no SMB47B plying Penang Rd at ard 11pm: you DEFINITELY dont belong on the road cos you will get someone killed.

And to SMRT - MRT screwed up also not enough, but must send one-month old drivers out on the streets driving like they are the only ones on the road.

I dunno where u got dat facts but having it for 9 mths now i certainly dun have any issues with it... Besides e 4500km touring dat ive done to Thailand, ive clocked 13000km in sg bro.. Rode it daily without any issues of bogging n i dun have to keep it a certain rpm to feel e smoothness... Fyi e 6th gear on tis bike is OD - OverDrive gear, travelling at 110km/hr n e rpm only just above 3000... Everything stock n it will remain that way... Even though ive own it for awhile but it have always keep me smiling when im riding her ...

In fact like i said, this "check clear" habit has already been incorporated into my life. Pavement, riding, driving, shopping mall even jogging. I also "check clear" before changing lane or stopping. =X but of coz it is impt to understand tat humans r not the same. ^^

I will either stop them and tell them to watch where they r walking. Becoz they r guys and will like be stronger at their "core" and may knock down other pple unintentionally.

 

Or i will brace myself and knock them. then say sry. ^^ becoz this type r those tat around tight areas they dun bother to adjust themselves and take up less space. They expect others to siam them while they no change. So i pretend to be same as them, no change lo.

That reminds me of a time I was run over by this chap who was tailgating me on PIE. I was riding at a comfortable legal speed keeping a safe distance of one car distance from the car in front on lane 1. Lane 2 was slightly clear and I do not want to be speeding as I was not rushing so I do not see why I should change lane as I feel the speed was comfy enough and there was a small jam up front. Lane 3 was filled with small lorries and travelling at a much slower speed due to the jam upfront. Lucky for me I had a habit of checking my mirrors every few seconds. Saw this car SJA1881T tailgating me. Its number is now engraved in my mind. Few seconds later saw the car speeding up trying to run me over. He knew I would swerve coz he is protected by metal and I am not. That has to be his mentality otherwise he would not have done so. I swerved to my left and true enough the jam upfront was making all vehicles to slow down. Rode past this bugger and he can still look at me as though he did nothing wrong. Kept my cool and just rode on.

Then again i cant say i ve encounter anything similar to ur case for my last 7 years of riding.

 

Good tat u check often and in this case avoided instead of head on with him (in this case is butt on) better to keep ourselves safe since u will c him at e next stop point.
