1st day using my cam and this happened just 2 traffic lights away from my hse.

the kr came from behind aft traffic light turn green and turn into my lane forcing me to almost go into the next lane. luckily there were no cars on my left.

Use the horn. Its there for a reason. Using the horn on a rider is much more effective than on a driver. Sorry forgot to include link in my above recording. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time.

TP has replied to my email about jaywalking at upper paya lebar road and mentioned that they will be sending patrol cars to monitor and forward that email to LTA for permanent measures... I wonder how effective that will be...

the white QX plated car kept trying to force his way into my lane despite knowing that i was just beside. aft that proceeded to follow me very closely. notice that his front bumper can be seen in my mirrors

no offence, but at 00:15 to 00:20 i would have given way without a second thought and be done with it, even if i didn notice the 'QX' designation. i dun think the move was 'sudden'.

today while riding,

 

spotted temporary speed check by TP on ECP right before keppel road exit 2a.

 

the car was parked at the shoulder, with flashing LEDs saying "SPEED CHECK".

 

All the cars in the area immediately brake and slow down. heng i was lane splitting so my speed wasn't high.

 

1st time seeing it deployed in my 2 years plus of riding though....

yup, his move wasnt sudden and true that i shld have given way to him but just cuz i am riding a bike doesnt mean he can force 1/4 of his car into my lane knowing that i was right beside him. he started to force his way slowly into my lane when the front of my bike was at his passenger door. if it was a car or lorry beside him, i dun think he will force 1/4 of his car into their lane

that's why i nvr horn or flash high beam but still not very nice to force 1/4 of his car into my lane.

Today saw 3 to bike and 1 car on sle. Then 1 tp bike on kje. Quite surprised becoz felt like long time no c already.

When i see the video, the mentality of the rider is 'cannot lose' one. I agree with you that he paused there to see what will the rider do. And the rider has been signaling for quite some time also before that. I think this one is suay because the car i think was in the blindspot so cannot see the signal. Sometimes also this happens to me. The car signal but i never see because in my mirror dont have him.

actually, whether i'm riding or driving, i 'see' more screwed-up drivers than riders all the time.

 

but not because there are less numbers of screwed-up riders than drivers. more because generally reckless riders endanger only themselves while screwed-up drivers endanger those around them. hence i 'see' more screwed-up drivers than riders since the riders dont usually force me to take evasive/defensive actions, be it on bike or car.

 

this doesnt vindicate reckless riders, merely a statement of fact.

Yesterday while riding on PIE towards Changi at around 6pm, saw 2 LTA plate bikes on the same stretch of the expressway.

 

Nowadays so siao on?

Just my opinion but we need to rethink this statement "reckless riders only kill themselves" or cause danger to themselves.

 

I think many of us would ve encounter before riders doing stunts causing us to ve to react by braking or taking evasive actions. Things like cutting into ur lane etc. Not to mention a rider can cause a driver to react to avoid e reckless rider causing ham to e vehicle on e lane which e driver evade to and e reckless rider may not even noticed or suffer from it.

 

I had this uneasy feeling about this statement before but only now able to put into words. Hope tat others agree and thus not promote tat reckless riders r just in their own bubble not affecting others. It i my opinion tat as long as u r on e road, it is not just about urself. :/

That is one way to see it. Do remove the word 'only' from the sentence. Think in terms of the mentality of 'flesh over metal and metal over flesh'. Car vs bike and vice versa. Whatever it is we riders will always be in the losing end in any accident minor or otherwise.

sometimes when we are jus crusing on the road ,and then a car suddenly cut to our lane..

how sure are we that the car never signal and jus cut in ? even if they did signal and cut in , do we get angry ?

 

cause i also see bike doing that . speed up signal and cut in . hence that set me thinking .

 

at which point do we get angry ?

Its a habit of mine to check the side mirrors every 5-10 secs. If the vehicle did not cut me so dangerously close I am fine with it. I guess I have a bit more patience. Because at the end of the day even if you advised or told the person off its no used as it could be put to deaf ears. Its only when advices given are heeded then it would make a difference.

Now LTA also like to hide under flyovers at the rain shelters.. spotted 1 at the Alexander flyover on AYE towards City..

was told that they recently so siao on got few reasons

 

1. starting of the mth so wanna hit quota den mid and end mth can relax abit

2. rmb a minister commented abt the roads on his facebook while his wife was driving? heard that the tp got pressurised from the higher ups
