Today while riding, I was riding outside Chongfu primary school. There was a yellow taxi on my left that went to the side of the road to pick up a group of passengers. Now because there was a slow moving bus behind the taxi, there was a gap on my left, I signalled, check blindspot and went to the left lane.

After traveling for about 5 more metres on the left lane, a blue taxi I was overtaking on my right swerved left and nearly bang into me!

And that was when I was on my way home after my wife messaged me that my baby girl just started walking today, and I came home earlier to see her. Nearly made me never able to see my baby girl walk!

Who knows where to buy 3M vecro tape?

I want to vecro my camera to my helmet! :box:

Thankfully you got home safely.

Home Fix. :)
And how much would that be?

They really have some skills to be able eat and ride at the sametime. I always think that action can only happen when driving.

Hope they Only do that (side swapped) to their fellow country mates and don disturb us with their stuns. Do u all think that after seeing them approaching from behind by your mirror. By "kicking"our leg sideway will prevent them from sticking close to us ?

The last thing we want is to skid due to such rider behaviours. Totally not worth. I don't expect them to stop and attend to us when we drop.

The thing about them is they are not afraid to fall.

Better not try that. Never know when they will take your leg with them when you try that stunt. Seen a Malaysian Kup rider stopped and helped a fellow rider when he skidded and fell. Not all are pests. :thumb:

I would say, Singapore always have a very huge safe distance.. of cuz, this is perfectly normal.. & even I myself sometimes have "doubts" about our safety.

Malaysia ride near each other but they ensure they wun "kill" each other other than those "robbers".

Vietnam sight is even nearer.. I was a pillion and i dare to say, I can put my arms across another pillion while they are riding together.. Of cuz, their speed limit is only 40.. 60 is consider racing already.. lolx..

Most of the SG drivers are speed demons and they just chiong or just change lane as and when they wan..

Not trying to defend or etc, just stating my point of view... :)

Last night while riding along Lincoln Road at 11.10pm... it was very dark and lit only by a few street lamps and something scared the **** out of me... 50m ahead of me, there was a white robed humanoid figure floating across this 2 lane straight road...

.

.

.

.

Slowed down... and quietly rode past that figure after it crossed to the other side....

.

.

.

Only to realise that it's an Arab in white robes talking on the phone....

As for me I now ride with high beam in the day. Only way to get the drivers' attention is by their mirrors hopefully. Just a while ago a lorry swerved to change lane without signalling as usual and then it LS. Most likely the driver suddenly saw me in the mirrors hence the LS. So its change lane then check mirrors instead of the proper signal check mirrors and if all clear change lane gradually. Sorry no video clip as I have yet to get a new memory card.

Witness a boy being knocked down by a lorry this morning. I ran to a nearby hospital to get help.

The IO called me up for statement as I was a witness. He told me the boy didn't make it through. He's only 3 years old.

Rest in peace little boy..

Oh crap. What the hell was the lorry driver doing?

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Probably he didn't keep a proper look out. Anyway he didn't try to run away or sometime like that and the driver cried when he was at the hospital with me. TP came and take him away.

R.I.P. to the boy. Its too late for the driver to cry be it sad about the passing of the boy or of the punishment coming that will change his life. His negligence costs a life that will never come back.

Not to be pointing fingers but the boy was with a Filipina maid who at that point of time was probably distracted by her iPhone.. Cos when he was carrying the boy to the pavement she had her iPhone in her hands.

If the maid had been more careful and the lorry driver kept a proper look out, the accident wouldn't have happened.

On a lighter note, you guys can read my bone head story and have a good laugh.

Today while riding....

Actually should start the thread off with the last few days while not riding my DR800.

A few days ago, my bike for some reason could not start after being serviced by Ah Chong at Planet. And the bike got no reaction when I push the electric start button. So no choice, hot wire the bike, also cannot start, got cranking, but no ignition.

I have been scratching my head over this, thinking the starter relay burnt out or maybe the spark plugs fouled again. But why will the starter relay spoil when I didn't use it, plus it was fine when I last started it at Planet. If spoil should hear a click sound then no more cranking. So suspected it's the spark plugs. Took out spark plug hot wire, no spark, confirm spark plug got problem, so took out both spark plugs and cleaned them but.... after taking out the newly changed spark plugs and cleaning them again, the DR800 still couldn't start! :faint:

So look the bike over and saw this... ... :sian:

"THE STARTER SWITCH TURNED TO "OFF!!!!" KNNB CCB somebody itchy hand go and fiddle with my bike and left the kill switch to off!!!

Made me late for work and made me dismantle the seat to hot wire and then dirty my hands taking out the spark plugs to clean them!

So after putting the switch to "ON". My beautiful "Scarlet" (DR800) started on the first try, but the idling still very very low and suddenly cut off by itself, so restarted the engine, I turned the idling screw much much higher and rode it 10km to stretch "Scarlet's" long legs. Along the way, I revv her a bit after the first 3km to 4,000RPM and the speed was at 100km/hr. Full throttle a few times to burn carbon, but was surprise the pick up wasn't as responsive as when I went on my solo round malaysia trip. When I got back, I saw the exhaust pipe smoking like crazy, and saw heat waves coming off the exhaust was really worried it might catch fire!!!

Then when I squat down to check the rest of the bike, I saw something that made me want to face palm myself.... :sian:

I forgotten to connect the wire to the first spark plug. ie; I was running my "Scarlet" on only 1 spark plug just now during the whole 10km ride! :slapforehead::slapforehead::slapforehead:

No wonder the idling so slow, acceleration no up to par with my normal days riding and exhaust got smoke come out!

So I reconnected the wire and restarted the bike and VRrrooom! The RPM straight away jump to above 2,000 RPM  Quickly adjusted the idling to 1,500RPM and off the engine.

When I got home I took a heck of a long time to wash my hands clean again...

I didn't see he being handcuffed cos the police were asking me to move my bike which was still at the scene. But when I was at TP HQ I saw they brought in the driver, and wasn't handcuffed.

Same case as Silent Hunter. Was at Raffles Place and attempted to start my engine. Got cranking sound, but refused to start. Since mine scooter. Don't think can do much too. I was like WTH, going to be late already. Tried a few more times still cannot. Then I checked all the switches on the bike. Wondering why I did not turn off the left signal. Then realised that the Red switch is set to off as well. Not only that, my high beam was activated, and then I finally realised some mischief going on.

RED switch off, high beam on, left signal on.

Did an all round inspection, but nothing suspicious. Who would be so bo liao...
