Vandalism is act of damaging "PRIVATE" property. U need to verify your legal rules. Anything that is not own by you can be classified as private property. Of coz dun lame talk about the leaves of a tree or the sh1t someone else left behind. =D In your case, the taxi driver rents the vehicle from the company so it will be considered private property belonging to the company on loan to the driver.

Road rage or road bully is the act of violence towards other road user, u r right but it can be used as an INTENT. Similar to how murderers who fail to kill their targets r still charged with the intent becoz the target didn't die.

Anyway, not telling u to stop or wat becoz wat u wan to do is ur choice. I also pissed with all this road situations, but just wish for u to be careful, tat's all! Take care k.

The Vandalism Act is a statute of the Parliament of Singapore that criminalizes a number of different acts done in relation to public and private property, namely, stealing, destroying or damaging public property; and, without the property owner's written consent, writing, drawing, painting, marking or inscribing the property; affixing posters, placards, etc., to the property; and suspending or displaying on or from the property any flag, banner, etc.

only if they stopped. else would be dangerous to close their mirror while moving.

Not really leh... Just backhand slap their mirror when going past them... But make sure u wear carbon fibre knuckled gloves... Wouldn't want you to injure your own knuckles because the mirrors are damn freaking hard... -.-

den they will tell u, "these are just SOME examples of what cannot be done"

although the link to the full list of what cannot be done is just a further elaboration of the points that is already stated

apparently LTA likes to be unique, just like the case of PSB approved helmets vs DOT and Snell certified helmets

Not really about being unique or not la... It's just about whether they can earn money through it or not... They sell the certs, no certs then summon... Got cert then no summon... It's all about $$$$$

Didn't ride the whole weekend cos was in batam for a short getaway with wifey.

Was damn surprised that cars and bikes can Co exist with each other in the same road without trying to get the other party killed. The cars there actually stops and slow down to give way to bikes

u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive

Of course... They consider riders as humans too... Not like singaporeans... Some consider riders as poor people that's why they ride... So the drivers are arrogant here compared to other countries...

Same goes with Thailand. No matter how rubbish they are when driving car against car. They generally don't fail to give way to bikes no matter how big the car and how small the bike.

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

What I was told anywhere in Indonesia if a car gets involved in and accident with a bike the driver will be at fault. For not being cautious of the more vulnerable groups. :D

Its the diversity of statuses. Its sad but its very obvious. When they hit a bike they will think the repairs cost like 20 or so.

Ya... Previously had an accident where the driver wanted to settle privately with me... And I was thinking he would offer me about $500-$1k... So I couldn't be bothered to ask his settlement amount and took ambulance to hospital... And now his insurance is offering $6+k to settle... I counter offered them with $10k and they didn't reply... And my lawyer agreed with me that their offer is too low... Lol... That's why I say he's a good lawyer... ;)

I sometimes end up using my 'Passing' swtich or indicator switch instead of horning. Lol.

Index finger tap on pass and thumb press all the way on the horn till I pass the f***er

My lawyer went to court to apply a writ of summons against the driver because he didn't reply to the offer...

so what happened after that?

I feel its more natural for bikes seeing that riders do not need to let go of the handlebars to press the horn but not for most cars as drivers would need to let go of one hand from the steering wheel to press the horn unless their horn buttons are not in the center. In time it will be second nature to press the horn and brakes at the same time. As taught in driving schools both hands should always be on the steering wheel unless you are changing gears.

Hi bro. How did u decide to take an ambulance? Was it a bad injury that you were immobile or some injury bad enough to stop u walking normally? I had an accident last time but since I was alone without any friends available and with an injured ankle. I decided rather stupidly to accept private settlement to which I was ripoff...

IMHO, sounding the horn doesn't have to be second nature, so no need to kan cheong until miscue/hitpass accidentally. If you have time to think to sound the horn, that time could be better used in taking avoidance action.

And yes, if you want to make a point to the driver after the fact, you should probably be out of danger and can easily hit the horn button.

Though I'd much rather merrily be on my way. Insist on your right and you might be dead right. There *may* be a tendency to tunnel vision to the point of oblivion to other approaching dangers.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

True. But simultaneously sounding the horn and applying brakes will need some get used to just like blipping the throttle.

Nothing serious la... Just some neck aches and backaches and fear of fractures so I took it... And I wanted the tp to handle the case so I went to the hospital...

Naturally, whatever is practised often enough becomes second nature. Thing is, blipping the throttle on downshifts can be picked up through daily use. Downshift at every traffic stop? Blip. However, it's a little harder to do with training of hitting the horn and carrying out braking/vehicle avoidance. If one is to find him/herself in such situations often enough to become proficient at it then well.........you get my drift. Perhaps other things can be looked at yeh?

Then again, can always look for nice stretch of road with no cars and carry out horn+brake drills? :cheeky:

That aside, going for HOV organised by fellow forumers together with reading Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Hough has provided much useful and practicable tips on how to ride safely or spot things out of the ordinary well in advance.

Of course, I do use the horn, mainly when I spot vehicles drifting in from afar. Just a light tap is enough. Some times, holding down the horn and blasting em just inspires them to react with menace.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

True enough. I have been in some vehicles and a light tap of the horn of stock motorcycle horns is quite next to impossible to hear. Hence why the need for louder horns. However some ignorant drivers could care less when horned and will still drive on as though nothing happened.

I work quite closely with LTA senior staffs, & it's really true how cock they are

Too much of 'by the book' attitude. No such thing as logical reasoning anymore.

Thrash? Don't mind if i do.
