He can believe or make up whatever law he wants, but let's just say even if that law did exist, there is absolutely no reason he should have brake checked anyone. Super close man...

On a brighter note, no one tried to kill me on the way to school so that's good. Haha. Lornie this morning have speed traps...saw tp officer standing on top of bridge...no wonder traffic slowed down so much and backed up .

Majority of drivers have no consideration of laws.

Just taking the norm to be the law too.

Sadly they all become whimpering cowards when there's a QX or LTA or TP plate on the road.

And its these cowards that ironically cause accidents when they slam on their brakes at the sight of a TP at the side of the road or on the overhead bridge.

Take a deep breath, count to 10, think of your family and loved ones and ride away... Works for me.

I always think if I'm a construction working riding a moped with a front metal basket, with tools that are inexpensive to own.

I would really like that; see a bugger driver, go infront drop my tool and faster scoot off.

Well, just hope that enforcement is bucking up. Straits Times reported that people are receiving summons for failure to signal, failure to form up properly, (so for those riders who have a tendency to sneak a right turn from a straight-going only lane, beware), road hogging, failure to turn on headlights between 7-7 . Although the numbers are small,

Then again, there will always be the geniuses who see you signal, speed up to cut you off from changing lanes.

Accept the fact that there are always buggers like that out there, ride defensively, make yourself visible and anticipate rubbish driving patterns. Most importantly, don't insist on right of way. Granted, we should be entitled to equal road usage rights but we have to face the uncomfortable truth that bodily safety comes before right of way.

If a driver is going to cut you off to exit, let the fella through, then if you can do so in a safe manner at the next traffic light or what, let the fella know.

That may cause the driver to slam on their brakes or swerve to avoid the tool. Could potentially take out other road users to the side/rear of his/her vehicle.

But think of other riders behind that car. Better don't leave it on the road...put it thru his windscreen better.:eek::eek:

But seriously, Singaporeans need to taste street justice we see in Malaysia. Cagers here just hide inside their cars and behind the laws that so much favour property and money over life.

Well said. Let us also do our part and ride safe and be responsible too. Can't expect drivers to always be looking out for us when when we have our own bad habits too.

Any comments about Lane splitting, tho? I'm afraid in this sudden surge of traffic regulation and enforcement, we bikers get unnecessary summons for lane splitting/filtering etc ..not only about saving time for us, but potentially saving our lives. Twice I've already avoided being sandwiched because the idiot behind me was tailgating. Would really hate to see some ignorant LTA fellow pass a law that bans lane splitting. Yes, its a grey area but that means they could decide to 'open both eyes' in the future as opposed to 'close one eye' now...

No hard and fast rule about lanesplitting. There are no provisions for or against the act of riding between lanes. However, riding dangerously or without due care would attract summons from the men in white. So split if it's to your fancy, but with some common sense, e.g. 10+kmph faster than traffic if it's crawling, or running pace when traffic is at a standstill. Always anticipate pedestrians doing their own splitting across the flow of traffic near bus bays, approaching pedestrian crossings.

Have been involved in an incident whereby a pedestrian ran between cars 15-20m away from a junction, instead of using a pedestrian crossing and ran into me when I was lanesplitting. His statement was that he was worried that the pedestrian crossing light was going to change, so took a shortcut. Was investigated for riding without due care and the pedestrian was investigated for jaywalking. Both parties let off with warning, tp waive right to prosecute.

On a fair number of mornings, I ride down Marymount and Thomson road and encounter 2 LTA riders. They usually stick to their lanes, but I'll happily lanesplit past them in the Thomson road jam. So far *touchwood* have yet to be hassled by them. Have also observed TP lanesplitting without blinkers on. So I reckon it should be fine so long as you're not nutters when doing so.

True. Seen a couple of times TP on right lane of PIE and suddenly so many cars simultaneous left signal and swerving to change to left lane. That is what create accidents.

Was so angry I forgot the number despite reading it out loud to myself. It absolutely frustrates me knowing that we bikers get caught for silly, little trivial stuff like LED signal lights etc. when people like that road bully gets away with it and put others in extremely dangerous situations on a daily basis.. urgh!

Really considering picking up a GoPro or something now...

Or maybe sometimes having a 'fake' camera on your helmet might be as good as the real thing when it comes to making errant drivers/riders think twice about being aggressive or trying something stupid. Don't know about actually recording la, because it seems that a lot of people online are saying that TP doesn't follow up on video footage anyway.

Remember that SMRT cab driver that got his suspension after somebody uploaded a video of him trying to swerve into a rider's path?

Note he only got fired from SMRT... how about the fact he tried to hurt somebody? No penalties from TP...only his employer? Disgusting man..

I have submitted my own video before to report a reckless driver. Since it was my first time, i was surprised that a IO personally email me and asked for the footage. After i sent, the IO said they will follow up and will inform me of the result. Still have not heard from them though. But it has been a few days only. Do your part and just send your video if you have them.

Driving culture and mindset in Singapore is relatively worsening over the years.

Too many people too scared.

Just today along the road going towards Bugis Junction from, think it was Kallang road, right before the ERP gantry was waiting to turn right towards Bukit Timah Road.

Light for incoming traffic turned yellow, everyone slowed down cause of a TP on a bike on the 3rd lane.

The lorry driver infront of me did not dare to turn, I just looked at the tp and turn straight without the green arrow coming up :)

Yesterday while riding, I was going from Yishun towards Evans road in the morning for a workshop, and there was this Super Duper slow white Mercedes driving into the carpark. Traffic was clear, and there were no other parked cars coming out of the lots. I got impatient following this rascal and overtook him from the left, and as I overtook the white Mercedes.... WAH LAU AIEEEEEEeee..... The driver was watching some movie or video using his HP or ipod with ear piece!!!! :faint:

KNCB@#$%^&*! Wishing my helmet cam wasn't left in the office because of a flat battery. This type of people need to retake their licence.

Then on the way home, on the way from Yishun Stadium going towards the Yishun dam, I was about to lane split between a van on my right and another car in the middle lane, when the the driver of the car slowly edged towards the dotted line. Not wanting to risk getting "Kiap-ed" between a car and a van, I slowed down and waited for the van to overtake the car before following the van. But then..... when I overtook the car, the lady driver of the car was holding her phone, yakking away, driving single left-handedly wearing her big ugly brown sunglasses. :sian:

As usual after overtaking people like her, I gave my signature handphone hand sign with my left hand and wagged my index finger in the "No! No! Naughty! Naughty!" fashion. The car then slowed and slowed and disapppeared behind other cars. I even slowed down to see if she would reappear again as she seems like can be quite "Chio" if she throws away those big ugly sunglasses. :shy: But she never reappeared!

A couple of days back while riding, I was going to my favourite Planet to get my bike's engine oil changed, since I was running low on fuel, already on reserve, I was going slow, 70km/hr++ or so, when in the distance I saw a person seated on the side of the road, Then when I got nearer, I saw that it was a white ghost talking on the phone with a camera pointed at my direction.

I glanced at my meter and it was nearly 80km/hr. :giddy:

Hope that because the Phantom meter is off and the actual speed is in the 60s. Speed limit at that stretch along Yio Chu Kang road towards Hougang at the shell station is 60km/hr. :sian:
