O... I think I realise the confusion here.

Parking light is actually the tailight which will light up when you switch on the headlamp. Not those pattern lights that those cars have when they are switched off.

Of course, it drains from the battery but it will stop draining when the headlamp is switched off. :)

I think you're making me more confuse now.

My concept of parking light is this:

You over turn the igination key after lock, the tail light will lit up.

This is good when you're parking in very dark places and able to locate your bike for some other countries.

My bike comes with this feature (not phantom) and hence have to be careful not to over turn the key when lock. Else, the "parking light" may drain the battery I think.

Cheers!

Alamak.. I think I am the one who is confused. I think you are right.

Coz I bought the LEDs from a forumer and he called the tail light without the brake, park light.

I noticed something peculiar....

While riding, if i were to let go of both hands from the handle bar, my bike tends to shift to the left on its own.

Is there something wrong with the steering cone or something? Wheel balancing required?

sometimes its the road, try it on different highways..if still happens then its your bike.

I've tried on different occasions already... still the same. Anyone tried?

normally, i tried to let it free hand on low speed,

mostly it goes straight, or move left (coz most roads are lower on left for water to drain)

So, is it true that Shell only accept credit card payments for >$20 purchases?

Does it have to be for fuel only or can you purchase other items too to hit $20?

So troublesome since 7-11 took over....

what would be the possible troubleshoot if my engine just got louder and louder?.

sometimes i feel that i need earplugs when i do 120kmh.

the sound of the engine got louder and if i were to be on this certain rpm (due to the absence of a proper tachometer i do not know how much), there would be this kinda sound , the sound particular to that when you gently rub your hands around the top of the glass... the EEEEEEEEEEE sound... the type of sound that is kinda high pitched.

why is that so?. hint of metal-to-metal contact?. piston?.

*p.s, i ride a ta150, checked tyre pressures they seem to be fine, what could be the problem?. sprocket teeths are stock, heavy duty chain.. hrmmmm.. 2t cable is fine...

bro you're riding 2 stroke man, why speed so much ;) be careful of piston jam and doing a superman on a phantom.ride safe, replay will tell you about me saying "ride relaxed" :cheeky:

The vibrations in a 2 stroker that you're experiencing are normal. Just keep in mind that if you want to whack, you cannot maintain a high rpm unless you premix your 2T. It's better to do your high speed runs in bursts to allow sufficient 2T to flow into your combustion chamber for sufficient lubrication.

i think it's about the need for speed?. last time i used to ride 80kmh and then i feel it's fast. now i keep on wanting to speed. immature?. maybe.

hrmm. yep, i get what you mean by bursts, 2 strokers need to 'breathe' and should not stay on a certain rpm for a long period of time.

but i've got a problem, i ride from yshn to airport almost everynight, sometimes for comfort, i would stay on that rpm for quite sometime in 1st lane. well i guess that's my prob.

but another newbie ques is,

when i engage in gear 1, i throttle, as rpm goes up, suddenly it cuts power and engine sounds clogged up. unless i throttle more, then can i achieve the best rpm rate to change to gear 2, or else, it will just stuck there like as if something is pulling me back. well it sounds more like a ta200 when it starts to clogg up man, super bassy, sometimes i like it. heh. ..well it only gets better after gear 4 then.after that no more cloggyness. sup?

metalfyre: wanna ask you, if didn't use premix? would it cause piston jam more likely? my friend told me his bike using premix because of "faster/better response". Such a thing exist? btw :offtopic: you missed out soccer :p

Posted

to slutgaden: like i told you before, the bike is made to speed. u need to open throttle more cos of the filter. unless u wanna forsake power for that kinda comfort, then change the filter to the stock air box.

lemme explain ROUGHLY..

premixing is a safe way to ensure that your piston will not get jammed. of course you need to add the right amount. :cheeky:

because your engine parts need lubrication, which is 2T, the 2T pump may not supply enough lub to the engine parts. for example, when your 2T pump spoils for no apparent reason, or if your 2T tank is dry.

pre-mixing also helps to prevent the inside of your tank from rusting.

quoting what a* k*** told me months back, pre mixing is one sure way to confirm your piston won't jam.

as to better response, i'll leave it to metalfyre to explain, cos i nvr felt the power of using the 2T pump. =]

knn seems fine !. ever since i heard it's got a lifetime warranty, it will still not die even after the engine dies. hah hah.

well i agreed. should my friend have premix his bike , his piston would not have jammed due to insufficient 2t running through the pump. so premix would otherwise save you from jamming your piston literally.

premix might prevent your piston from getting jammed due to any unforseen circumstances.

it would be better if you can accurately calculate the amount of 2t to be poured in versus the amount of petrol in tank.

it's a win win situation... :thumb:

some newbie questions from me

does phantom TA200 need any oil like those 2T bikes?

what kind of DIY maintenance does a phantom needs? and how often?

What doesn't kills me can only makes me stronger.

ta200 needs only Engine Oil (EO) whilst ta150(2 stroke) needs Engine oil, 2T whether premix or 2T pump or Both ways And also coolant is it?

what kinda diy maintenance you mean? Lubing chain, Change Eo(some say 2.5k or 3, some 5k), nothing much if you take care of it. I got mine in january till now did change brake pads to stock then to MFizz, Eo changed monthly or so + top up, chain+ sprocket, gasket, spark plug..

thats about it, for me I prefer a silent ride so I try to keep everything quiet other than exhaust which i can't and keep ride in tip top.I'm a guy who likes performance so yea..

still ride relaxed most of the time.

nice! i'd like to keep my bike as silent as possible too! sometimes when i'm trying to push the speed up, the bike can get a bit noisy. and my hands gets numb from the vibrations when i go beyond 80-90km/h

What doesn't kills me can only makes me stronger.

Hi PKs.. got a question regarding de-greasing.

When I wash my bike and clean the chain, I will degrease the chain with a degreaser. So I was just wondering

1) how did the grease get on in the first place>?

2) issit we must grease the chain every now n then OR chain lube is enough?

3) is it okay to wash off all the grease off the chain n sprocket??

Thankew!
