Hi guys..

i'm just wondering if phantom perform better in cooler days..

'cos i feel that my phantom runs more smoother on days when it's cloudy, rainy or cooling...

just a thought...

colder days => air is denser => more oxygen for combustion => slightly more power

It should be pre-lubed (& sealed) with grease from the factory. Don't think greasing your axle is a DIY kind of thingy...

Dear all,

Just collected my 2nd TA200.Chain very very tight, mechanic lub it, went homw still find so tight.Saw dirt particle around sprocket & chain.

a) Is it the bike put there for so long, thus the lub dired up?My chain is a DID O-ring.

b)Or do the lub needs time to "settle down" into the chain O-ring? You see, after mech lub it, I went home straight & was raining?

c) Could the lub been washed away by rain coz my wheel hub (should it call, the whole wheel plate, don't what's call) has all the oil marking droplets?

d) Or it's it time to change? Then should the shop replace me Free of charge as they didn't check if it's working properly and sold to me?

Any kind soul please help to assist.:help: :help:

Thank you all...

wah chain tight you better loosen it, it might spoil ur engine...

lubing ur chain should be done after ur chain is warmed up, if u lube then immediately ride off, your chain hasn't expanded, the lube hasn't penetrated all the way inside.

Thank you niqyap,

Maybe more details & hope I explain well. My chain still has the slack of about 30mm (according to TA200 manual, it is acceptable.). The tight chain I'm referring to is when you try to "bend" the links, it so tight, even until today.

Could you please explain how do we warm up the chain? Is it we ride for a while first, then stop & lub the chain? Sorry if you have answer this before, but please advise again.

The bike shop (Yishun) never check until I checked & tell them. Then they said ya ya it's tight, will lub for you.Isn't it is their responsobility to ensure this bike is in road worthy condition. They may expect the chain to goes retire & goes back to them to change new one. Expensive to change whole set as I know.

My goodness, anyone experience this. when you brake gradually using your front brake, your whole bike jurk forward & normal & forward & normal, just like when you use intermediate (not sure correct spelling) braking method. Like you brake (you feel suspension going down), then release brake, suspension went back to normal, then brake again...goes down, noraml again...jurks feeling. IS it the front brake oil is low that causes this "jurks" thing?

This bike shop just didn't check some major stuffs and expect me to go back and pay for the changes. Maybe getting bikes are more or less like this, got to spend another sum$$ for changes...Well but at least they must do it...

Sorry for the long winded facts.

you are welcome bro . well you can check if tis 2 night any knight going down to dam or not . so that your question can be answer more clearly .

a) do something about ur over thighten chain b4 you spoil sproket .

b)wat did you use to lub in the first place ??

c)ok now i kind of think tat you use oil to lub your chain right ? well if you use oil ,chance of been wash away by rain is faster.(the oil marking on the rim cos by the oil fling away from the chain )

d)i think it time for you to change to a proper chain lub or wax tat does not fling off so easily. f.o.c things you should have ask b4 the deal , or if the bike shop give you any kind warranty.

hope the above ans will help you somehow :D

ya the FOC thing he already said if spoil, than change. They said the chain needs to run as it had put there for so long, thus lub/oil harden. The lub/oil...I think is oil as it's quite liquid though... I saw him "lub" my chain, that's why can see the flying oil marks.

If we put wax, should we just apply onto it or must we clean the chain (to get rid of as much oil/lub as possible)?

The manual said some chain lub contains solvent which might damage the O-ring, to some extend, it is true? Any good oil lub or wax to recomand?

Problem man again.

whenever I brake gradually & lightly on the front brake, the front suspension is like bouncing:bounce: , just as thought like the ABS brake, but this time you can feel it. Anything wrong?

I notice the brake fluid is about full before starting bike, after start, the level went down below half, then when switch off engine, full mark! godness, anyone really kind to gives advises???:weep:

Heya everyone ...

Just about 2 days back, I noticed a strange clinking sound while cruising. Starts at around 30 km/h. When I clutch-in, and let the bike roll, it's quite noticable.

At first, I thought it was the chain hitting onto the suspension, or somewhere. Went to planet motor to tighten it a little, but while riding back, I still heard the clinking sounds. So, it can't be the chain.

right now, I think it's the timing chain or maybe the tensioner. What do you all think? When I move off, I don't hear it. Also, when I'm slowing down to stop, don't hear it also. Only when cruising.

Oh, I'm riding a FV TA200. Guess it's probably about time for a change of the chain inside the motor block?

u can just apply lube or wax onto yr chain , wont damage it unless u apply those that are not meant for chain.

Apply yr brake gradually, i guess u are still not used to it yet.

for yr brake fluid level .. pls make sure it is at sea level when u make comparsion.

it better clean away all the rust & dirt b4 you lub ur chain . i use castrol chain wax , as it is good enough for me. as ur brake ,must try and see wat's wrong . (maybe ur ta really fix wit the abs thing :D ) as ur brake fuild it got nothing to do wit the bike started or not . when you park ur bike cos your bike is tilt to the left ,so ur brake fuild level will not be acurate. place ur bike up-right than you will see the true brake fuild level .
