Are u very sure that there are leakage at the gastket? Doesn't sound like EO to me. More like petrol.

Since Phantom is a 4-stoke system. It will take 4 stoke to complete a cycle. There are 2 valves hiding inside the Gasket. One controling the airflow and the other control the petrol intake. As usual, due to tear and wear, the valve might create a small opening for the inlet and outlet...therefore causing sipage and loss in power.

You can do top overhaul to adjust the valve and at the same time, check the air/fuel mixture.

Just like bro cheong explained, petrol will evaporate, EO will stay on, so it shld be EO ba...

winthur: U've realised a mis-firing system in TA200! Hooray for ya!

Nah, juz joking. It's actually abt e air-fuel ratio. Ur fuel ratio is too rich. Tune down e idling spd, n it may help. Others hav reported tat using a better spark plug may help too, eg: NGK Platinum G-Force. (",)

recently i notice my exhuast got this "POK POK" sound when i lower down gear to go down slope... is there anything wrong? intermittently i will hear it... at first i tot might be due to my box...but this time i'm cfm it's my exhaust...

Sky Vince, good advice. You can tune it on your own or go motordiam to fine tune for you. But that does not garantee that there will not be any backfire. Chances that you will still get it....very normal for Phantom TA200 if you close yr throttle too quickly...

Yes, I agree. Regardless of EO or petrol, leakage will need to be check. Overtime it will cause disaster to your engine, and endanger yr life during rides.....:thumb:

winthur: Haha! Guess u still havent experience e real loud pop-pop sound wif e flame shooting out of ur exhaust yet. =P It's super loud, n gives u every kick u need. It made my heart skip a beat everytime when I hear it in e past. It's exactly e same visual effect as those shown in Initial D etc, juz tat there's no power increase. Now after some tuning on my Phan, no more soft/loud pop-pop. Try riding in a more relax manner (open n close throttle smoothly), u'll enjoy e ride much better. Cheers! (",)

Hi guys.. Just had a question to ask.. Will riding TA200 in the rain affect the performance of the bike? Because 2 days ago, I rode my phantom in the rain for the 1st time.. However, I felt the engine performance dropped a little.. Dunno how to explain.. Just tat the engine doesn't seemed as powerful as riding in dry conditions.

My friend told me it's my own thinking that riding in the rain affects the engine performance. So guys, is it true that riding in the rain reduce the engine efficency? I just rode my phantom for a month and I never encountered this problem b4.. Hope u guys can clear my doubts.. Thank you..

Sometimes Results may be Disappointing, but it's never Discouraging..

winthur: Will damage e engine. As to which part of e engine, I've forgotton.. Remember someone posting it somewhere before. =) Anyway hope to c ya soon. Guess we still havent met each other. Haha.

Technician III: Hi! =) Affect performance? I've no idea. Perhaps there's more wind resistance bcoz of e weather? Plus ur tires muz b able to grip in wet conditions too. For myself, riding in e rain feels as normal, juz those distractions from e rain drops, which some hits real hard on my arms. Haha! =P Anyway engine performs better in cool weather as compared to hot weather. Cheers! (",)

hey guys,

need some help here.

after washing my bike today, tried to start it. key in, press ignition, bike starts. however, noticed neutral light blinking. neutral light gone each time i try to rev a little. not thinking much about it, i just switched it off. hours later, tried to start bike. key in, press ignition, nothing. no cranking sound at all. neutral light gone. managed to push start bike, tested battery, multimeter shows 12.75V. is that healthy?

anyway what could be the problem? fuse? sparkplug? or something else?

another problem i face is the difficulty to kick to neutral from 1st gear. i just changed EO for less than 50km. last month checked with bike shop, clutch plates still good.

if clutch cable too much freeplay, will affect?

lilium martagon: Welcome to PK! (",)

fleaz: 12.75v shld b okie I guess. My mechanic told me tat e voltmeter rating shown shld b btw 12-14.5v. Try checking if ur fuse has broke. Btw for ur engine oil, I hav a suggestion. Personally I feel tat engine oil has to 'season' 1st before they feel smoother. Perhaps a few more hundred km to 'season' it ba. Tat's wat happen for my Phan's engine oil changes. Cheers! =)

i feel nth less of power when i ride in rain than ride in dry condition.

in fact, i think i feel, the bike has more power and run smoother... not just in rain, in cool/night time also...

so.. i m seeing quite a number of u saying got some prob riding in rain, while mine seemingly performing slightly better...

so.. i m wondering, is it my bike only case? or is it their bikes? or isit just me? haha..

Bike cannot start might be also due to spark plug, weak battery or fule/air ration tuning. If see you at dam, will help you take a look.

I'm not sure about when but its bcos of my EO leaking onto the engine, which needs to open up the top part to change, and at the same time, do some cleaning and change of damaged piston rings...

$150++ excluding piston rings...

Strongly recommend Planet if do big job.....like servicing or changing EO can be done around the motordiam you are staying....so far ah Koon servicing is the best and near my office...so I usually drop by his shop.....

Will be going down to Koon on Wednesday to fine tune my RPM....some how air/fuel mixture a bit out of tune.....:sian:
