Ah Koon don't sell bikes..

i bought mine from bukit merah lane there, near queensway shopping centre. the shop is Southern Motor.. dunno abt its reputation though...

but i guess trustworthy.. cos that time when i buy, i didnt know a thing abt bikes. they said they'll change this n that for me, like batt, plug, filter etc..

when i collect i didnt check also.. check also no use, i didnt know how to...

then few mnths later, i go ah koon... he said those things are pretty new...

yah.. so i guess u can try there.. but i think every shop will be expensive than buying from this forum...

I guys

I went Planet motors on this monday 6th Mar , change Cone bearing , due to I drop my bike earlier , change tensioner near to the starter motor , change Air filter , change spark plug (good one ), They did a very good service I spend about close to 4 hours there , I paid about SD 140 including a bottle of chain lub ...

Hi guys.. I understand that our phantom's chain nd to be lubricated about once a month.. However, everytime I look at the chain, it looks the same to me? How to tell if a chain is too dry and needs to be lubricated? Any syntoms?

My colleague told me that using grease is better than lubricating oil becoz it's won't be washed off during the rain.. Is it true? If it's true, tat means any type of grease I can use.. There's some grease at my workplace and it would be great if I can use it to lubricate my chain..

Feb 06 till Present - Phantom TA200 Custom 4

Sometimes Results may be Disappointing, but it's never Discouraging..

Assuming that u are using the stock DID O-ring chain, you will need to use chain lube or chain wax that is O-Ring chain compatible (it will be stated on the bottle)

Try MAXIMA Chain wax, pretty good & it does not fling (about $10 only i think - Koon got sell)

:btw: Generally, grease will be more water resistant, but it WILL trap sand and dirt on your chain, resulting in faster wear, so I think using machine grease on your chain is definitely a no-no...

In fact, as a rule of thumb, grease should only be used in enclosed places (bearings etc), NOT on chains that are exposed to the environment.

One last point, try to lube bi-monthly. Once a month sounds a bit too long for me...

If you notice the chain is dry....then is too late. The friction cause between the chain and the spoket will double or even triple the speed of wear and tear.

Just like what they say, is better to be safe than to be sorry. I lub my chain every once a week after washing and cleaning my bike. I got the lub from Ah Koon. It is a spray....that's makes things easier. It only cost $6....I think....:thumb:

The procedure depends alot from the Motordiam. If they already have all the documents ready, you still need to wait for at least 12 hours to get your insurance done and you can ride away with the bike. Officially, you must ensure the bike is register with your name....To do that, the motordiam need to do the transfer for you and you shld get the "VEHICLE REGISTRATION CARD".

do i need to bring my helmet?

Up to you loh.....You can bring along with you, but you will not be allow to ride the even you pay cash, bec the insurance not ready...so motordiam will not take the risk.

This is usually the case....somethings it will take up to 14days bec you requested them to fix up extra stuff that they don't have it with them.....

I hope this help.....

My bike suddenly died off just now when I am on the way back from my class. It was totally no electricity supply to the whole bike. After I opened the right side chrome cover, I discovered that one of the 15A blue colour fuse was burnt. Luckily there was an spare fuse below. After I changed it, the bike back to normally liao  .

Anyone encounter this problem before? Can somebody tell me what is the reason that meake the fuse burnt?

None of the insurance covers medical. IT only covers your bike.

normally most would go for 2nd party.

Pillion no coverage cause if u gonna cover pillion, who the world is the insurer gonna noe who u gonna pillion!! Pillion just buy normal life / accidental/ medical insurance... :thumb:

Starting insurance will be expensive, thats y u need to built up the NCD. I recommend u call NTUC for further enquiries....they are very friendly. :goodluck:

Hi.. I just got my phantom about 3 weeks ago and all these while I use V Power. (Only believe in the best)

BUT NOW.. I realised it's burning a big hole in my wallet.

Hence, I would like to know:

1. I would still pump V Power occasionally.. But is it ok to pump V Power this week and next week pump 98 and following week pump V Power again?

2. Is it ok I use V Power then suddenly change to 92? Will the bike be able to adapt to the change?

3. If I use V Power from Shell and then I go SPC to pump 98 (For eg.. Cannot find Shell.. Only got SPC or Mobil or Esso) Will anything happen?

I know it's better not to mix.. But sometimes because of price.. Is really no choice.

Hi Harvested,

It is kind of hard to explain to you....bec' it is too long.

In summary, Phantom is not a high performance bike (for racing), and therefore you need not high octane petrol such as V-power(98). In fact, V-Power(90) is enough to run the bike.

To further understand the theory, I have kept this web document for my reference, hope that this help.

I believe there should not be any problem....Let's check with what the rest of the PK says.

So far, I m a loyal Shell customer, because other than 10%, I get another 5% for using OCBC credit card....So extra saving.....

Fellow PKs, any comments?
