Hi peeps,

I have some queries...

There are few configurations for the phantom...

1. No baskets, just plain and simple

2. Only rear basket

3. Only side baskets

4. Add on rear and side baskets

Which is the nicest for a phantom?

I am totally newb so I use the term "basket" cos I dunno what is the proper term for it.

they are simply called boxes...

Which is the nicest? can't generalize an answer for you. It up to the individual.

Ask yourself what is important to you:

1) Storage space?

2) Looks?

3) Maneuverability/handling?

& how much $$ you are willing to spend on the side/rear boxes or saddlebags, then make your decision. It YOUR bike, so YOU decide what is nicest...

The more "basket" i have, the more rubbish i will store.

but still kiasu, fixed 2 x 45litre side box + a 40litre top last time on a TA.

total storage of 130litre... of junk .

If you are going for appearance, IMHO, i prefer with just side boxes alone.

1: Crash bar price varies from $60~$120 depending on type, quality & where u buy it from.

2: I recommend Metzeler tyres. Feel that its the best value for $, if you are looking for soft compound tyres, which grip roads better (at the expense of faster wearing out) Price from $140~$180, depending on where u buy it from

3: No. The motordiam will dispose of the old tyres for u, but there is ZERO trade in value.

difficult to generalize an answer for you as sooooo many factors affect 2nd hand TA200 price.

roughly, I'd put the range at about $2.2k for an FU plate ~ $4k for a FY plate.

fuel consumption around 32~42km/l, depending on payload, bike condition, road condition, riding style... etc.

There's a wide selection of boxes that are available for almost any budget. Price depends on what type do you want?

:btw: its not that I'm not trying to be helpful, but its difficult when the questions are too vague...

Thats is the tyre my motor shop recommand also. Dont mind the speed of wearing out, its safety that is important. Heard the original tyre is not very good so dont want to put others life at risk.

Crash bar from LAB, anyone know the price?

Heard from a fellow biker, if you are a NTUC policy holder, if you go down personally to apply for bike insurance, is cheaper by 20-25%. Thats what I heard, will find out more when mine expired which is end of the year..

Dun need... but if

If you want, can try to ask your dad or uncle to register as rider and put you as sub-rider. Then insurance on a 2nd hand bike will accord on their age which will result in paying

It doesn't work like that anymore.

Even if you're subrider, insurance will still be according to the most inexperienced rider.

I know because I just bought my bike 2 months ago and Mitsui doesn't allow.
