1. You must take note of your mileage. Mine can last about 200km.. So every 200km remember to pump.

2. When pumping, you see the petrol coming out liao then stop pumping lah!

hi,

i juz got my ta150. juz like to check wif the phantom pros: 2T is top-up at the small cap that is protected by a metal piece with a screw at the front left of the bike rite?

another qxn: is the abovementioned 2T top-up pt also known as the Engine Oil for the bike or is Engine Oil a separate thing in a separate place?

lastly, the OIL indicator in the speedometer refers to 2T or engine oil?

haha, rite now i dunno if 2T is the same or different from Engine Oil (confused)

Hope to get some help to clear up my confusion!!

Hi pple.. Is there any shop ard north or east area who dun mind me using better products like NGK G power spark plug, maxima fully syn EO etc for a phantom?

Coz I encountered this problem of mechanic hinting me "phantom dun nd such gd products" during my servicing.. eg. I wan to change NGK G power spark plug, got a reminder tat phantom is not a race bike and NGK is meant for racing purposes.

Next, wan to wash carburator but got reply say new bike dun nd to wash.. nearly 5000km liao still dun wash, or i wait until problems arises then go do servicng?

Aft tat, ask the mechanic whether if downgrading fuel grades (from premium grade to 98 grade) will affect morning cold starts. He ask me wat grade i use. I lied to him I use 98 grade down to 95 grade. In actual fact, I use premium grade. I changed to 98 grade.. Answer was ur bike not go for racing. How come u use such gd petrol?

I understand tat the mechanic meant well for me.. He wan me to understand tat phantom is juz for transport purposes onli.. However, i dun tink I shld be treated wif an impression of wat i'm doing is all wasting money, which i dun tink so.. I changed my spark plug to NGK G power.. Although the effect not veri great but I still can feel my bike more strength..

So is there any shops u guys can recommend to me who won't treat me like a guy wasting money?

Thank you guys..

Hmm.. Can u briefly describe the differences u feel in ur bike aft u change ur air filter? Smoother acceleration? I'm interested in changing my air filter too since I plan to ride my bike for a few more yrs.. I believe such "investments" is worth my money..

By the way, I'm sure some of u guys sure go to a workshop regularly for servicing.. Care to intro some of the good workshops ard.. Most impt they do not nag at me using better products for my phantom..

Another thing is how much mileage can an air filter be used until it's time to change it? 10000km?

Sorry to ask so many questions but I dun wish to create a post for each question.. Waste space lah.. Thank you guys..

:thumb: I went to one before at ubi there along AS phoon that area. forget the name liao. the boss wears a blue overall one the mechanic there quite good too but they don sell knn air filter ask liao...

For knn air filter good things is if maintain properly its like a lifetime use no need to change. cos now i upgrading my current bike add a lot of stuff to make it look better.

If u have any reccomendation can tell me also we can do it together.. but sometimes using expensive stuff doesnot means it will be good to ur bike as wat i observe from my frens

U r rite man.. But reason y i hav confidence in wat pple recommend products in this forum is becoz I've tried it out.. Like NGK G power spark plug and maxima engine oil, I dun even know these products exist until I read bout them in this forum.. pple say these products r gd.. Although I dun expect my phantom to fly aft changing them, but at least it realli works..

But problem is I do not know if this K & N filter adds to the performance of the engine.. air filter from its name i onli know it's used to filter off particles and dust from the air.. but does it helps to increase the performance or acceleration of the engine.. This question I've no answer to it..

I hope somebody do hav answers to my question..

Hmm.. the maxima EO not bad.. i using maxima syn blend.. semi syn type.. Engine become smoother.. Few weeks ago i was using some sort of mineral oil.. Engine starts to vibrate at 80km/hr.. i mean become high pitched.. Now change to syn blend, the high pitched sound starts at 90km/hr... better lah..

The NGK G power spark plug pple buy $6, dunno y i buy at $8.. The mechanic something like iridium or somethin.. dunno wat he talking bout.. Anyway, u can try it.. Not bad leh.. More power during the 1st few gears compared to normal spark plug.. But 5th to 6 gear power bout the same.. Overall, I'm satisfied wif the recommendation i get from this forum.. Tink will change the air filter this week..

My bike going to stay wif me for at least 3 more yrs.. Therefore I wan to invest gd products into it.. I mean using the mineral oil i run at 90km/hr, I'm scared tat the piston will fly out this kind of thing.. but change to maxima semi syn, i feel better..

U can try fully syn lah.. maybe start to vibrate at 100km/hr?

i try not to use semi one la still believe fully syn is better for my bike. cos only few months once only petrol will save a bit not using those high end one cos i everyday travel. u wan we go down together la see can get cheaper

Hi bro, newbie here too... but i've change a set of tyres before so think can answer your question.

I've got myself a set of Metzeler tyres. To me i think Metzeler (SG$130+ for both front and back) is good enough for a phantom bike cos due to the weight of the bike and the angle of the bike, you cannot really fully enjoy the tyres in corners. It is also not advisable to get a top end tyres such as Dunlop as the wear off is very fast due to the soft compound, unless you are born with golden spoon in your mouth...

Hope my 2cents help...

Thanks eeyore for the advice but do u have any friens who had tried bridgestone tyres?

I know Dunlop are good but its too high end and it will be a waste to put on phantom. Metzeler is well known with phantom but jus wanna noe how bridgestone tyres perform on phantom bikes.

Metzeler and pirelli have the same price but seems like pirelli is a more expensive brand compared to metzeler is that true?

Personally, I would rate the 2 brands about equal (in terms of quality) when it comes to Phantom tyres. Prices are fluid & varies between shops, difficult to compare.

K, how much or any increase in bike performance, i cant reali give u a detailed report.

But è changes I've noticed after my K&N filters r on r:

Louder(nicer thumping sound, IMO)

Fuel Consumption increased(slightly), due to re-tune of carb. by Dr Koon, elsewise still ok.

Smoother acceleration(especially when è weather's cool).

Savings on changing air filters.

Bike responsive when throttle turns...

K, abv mentioned r personal experience on own bike. Shld there's any indifference frm è other riders whom had K&N on, differs...

(P.S. Kiamh, u oso had it on, wats yr feedback? )
