i think it's just called a pillion handlebar. anyway for sp related things, isn't it better to ask in the sp forum?

:btw: just wish to clarify, not trying to be hostile here.

Hi PKs.. Got a question to ask..

I saw a few bikes with this led light fixed in the headlight, and it just keep lighting and lighting producing different color. I got my hands on a led and decided to DIY on my TA200. I attached the led inside the headlight compartment and then connect it to the area where there is a fuse. Not sure if this part is the battery or not. (the led came with a attached resistor)

It was a good addon but it only lasted for 2 days before my bike was unable to start this morning. I turned on the ignition and then the neutral light was on, quite bright. and then the led was still running. but when i press the ignition button, a series of tiak tiak tiak sound came from the fuse area. I removed the connection immediately and then tried to start but to no avail. then end up i tried to push start and eventually managed to start the bike. after i reached my destination, I off the engine and tried to start again and everything was back to normal.

1) Does every electrical add-on require a relay?

2) Is the situation that I met with resulted from excessive drainage of battery?

3) Anyone with TA200 and this LED add-on willing to share how you connect the LED?

Thank you in advance.

Hi all, Phantom newbie here.

I just bought a TA200 two weeks ago.

My phantom's rear stop light does not lighten up when I step on the rear brake. Is this normal? If not, how should I fix it?

If it lights up when you press the front brake then your rear bulb is still working and no need to change. you can adjust the sensitivity of the rear brake. as in how much to depress to get the light on. its a screw thing attached to the brake line somewhere near to the foot brake area. You ownself go and fiddle with it to acheive the results you want.

relay is only needed if the current draw is huge so as to protect your switches.

led wouldn't draw that much current to drain your battery. if u had connected your pisitive wires to the fuse area, make sure its connected after the fuse instead of before the fuse. if its connected before the fuse, meaning your led isn't protected, and you might have a short circuit without knowing it. . .

u can try tapping it from the headlight wires, or the condenser wires. . .

either you have a short circuit before the fuse, before the led resistor to the ground, or...

your battery is already bad, just that it play out on you on the right time.

hope it helps.

Luintoxon: E light sensor for rear brake pedal is not as sensitive as e front brake lever's, which means u hav to depress e rear brake harder for e brake light to b activated. Tis happens for my Phan. =)

As for whether e sideboxes r obstructing e bots, it depends on where u install e sideboxes. For my case (Un-removable E21), I usually hav to open up e sidebox covers before my spanner can remove e bots easily. E covers would b restricting my spanner's movement if I dun do so.

I suppose in e case of tightening e chain, as long as e adjusting scale reading of both sides r e same, they should b alright. Juz try to tighten e nuts as tight as possible, wif almost e same number of turns. Shldnt affect tat much as long as e wheel is facing forward. Experienced riders/mechanics pls correct me if I'm wrong. (",)

Thanks Vinz.:thumb:

I just find out from e manual that the rear brake's sensitivity towards e stop light can be adjusted by turning a screw beside e rear brake. But this adjusting screw oso sux. Either over sensitive or not enough. Sometimes I step e rear brake once, n e light never go off when I release. So must be careful when adjusting it.

For removing my rear seat, I think I need to get an L-wrench.

BTW. May I know how much a heavy duty chain n e installation cost? I heard some brands like DID n Daytona (this brand I heard fr my previous bike owner; I think I heard wrongly). Which brand good? Price?:help:

This is due to the fact that there are sticky oil and yucky stuff stuck onto the part where you need to screw. the sticky stuff prevents the line from going back to the original position, which does not allow you to fine tune. you can try cleaning that area up with WD40 or some diesel then wipe away those grease with dirt and spray somemore wd40 to lubricate.

Maybe the 'lousy' chain isnt so lousy, as my lousy one costs 40 bucks only.

I have the best signature.

It will be the same IF

1) Both bike are over 5 Years old (Most TA150 are over 5 years, TA200 only some FT).

and since its classfied under 100 - 199 cc. It will be the same.

applicable for NTUC.
