A married couple, with a young son, was always fighting, bickering, you name it. One day out of pure rage, the father murdered the mother. He hid his crime well, no one suspected anything. But he noticed something strange about his son. The boy never complained about the absence of his mother.

 

"Son, why aren't you calling out for Mommy? Most little boys would want their mommy to be with them. Tell me what's bothering you."

 

The little boy replied, "I'm fine. I was just curious why you're always carrying Mommy on your back."

In malay superstitions, there are plants that not supposed to be discovered. There are Animal that is not supposed to be seen at night and there are Noise that is not supposed to be heard in the morning or night.

 

Plants: for example Sendudup Plant. These flowers usually is White, but there are occasional times when someone suay or special found the Blue ones. Sendudup are known to house a spirit (penunggu) that is the guardian of that plant. One case happen to my relative when she found a sendudup growing under the block which is very rare. She took the plant home due to the fact that Sendudup flower actually has many medicinal qualities. The next day she fall sick with fever and recall the incident to her husband. she said she brought and plant the tree at the doorstep. At night while sleeping, she heard footsteps coming towards her with a heavy breathing at her ear. The deep coarse harsh voice said "Why did you take it without permission?" and then the being vanish. When the husband went out to look for that tree, it was gone only the pot with the soil dug out only. (Oh, at my workplace one of my ex-collegue plant a sendudup at work. Its blooming very nice. well my fren kept eating its flower though coz he wants to look YOUNG! uweeeek!

 

Animal: Burung Rajawali (Kingfisher Bird). There is this belief that if someone saw a Rajawali fly at night upside down wailing all the way that means someone in his vicinity is going to die. As what my mom said it did happened in kampong bedok. But its still a myth. As what known is that Kingfishers is not nocturnal.

 

Wak-Wak & Burung Ayam2. These birds never came out in the day due to they are norturnal. But sometimes they do comes out but they are at the blind spot coz their eyesight is poor. It was known that Burung Ayam2 and Wak2 has spirits guarding them. But the wak2 spirits are known to be violent.

 

Marine Catfish & Red bream. These fish are known to have spirits too. Marine catfish travels in Large numbers and the fisherman always says that they always follow the leader and that leader are known to be Bigger than them and usually called the guardian. One cases about Marine Catfish that i knew happened to my bro's fren uncle. As he caught quite a numbers of Catfish, he was happy. BUt the old saying says that if you get alot, try not to be greedy. Lucky for him, two strange looking man came to him and asked him hows the catch today. He find it odd that they came from a place that there is no pathway coz he was at the coastline so next to him is actually SEA. Alert by the being, he just said that he catch this for his family and relatives so they can share. The two human just said that its better that way. and being kaypo, the uncle asked them where are they from. and both show him the sea. "We came from there...". They took their leave and the uncle run away.

 

Red Bream, as i know of, this incident happen to a sailor who went out to fish at night on his boat. That night he didnt caught anything until suddenly there was a pull. He bring up and saw a red bream. He was aware of the legend but after hauling bream after bream, he was greedy i think that he never came home. They found his body lying on the boat frozen alone. It was said that Red Bream will never come out at night. Usually the ones that did is not the true Bream but the ghost of the sea that wanted his life. Old folks always said that if you caught one or two, you better go home or change somehwere else coz that THING might be near you waiting...

 

Voice: its a common warning to everyone that if you venture out alone at night and suddenly someone calls you by your name, try not to turn until your being tap at. This happened to my uncel while he missed the bus at night. while walking, he stupidly heard a voice calling his name on top of the tree. The idiot look up but saw no one. but that was a BAD move. The thing followed him home and create hell for him. He cant sleep, falls sick often and his health deteriorate. Luckily my granfather came to the rescue when he saw a woman always standing by his side and drove her away.

 

Voice of an animal: LOTONG. I do not know whats the scientific name for it but malay called it LOTONG. its Black & white and has a voice like "UWORRRK" like that as what i know when I watch Discovery Channel.hehehe. My mom says that if you heard the Lotong cries in the morning before the sun rise, do not look up or search for it. If you do, its an indication that your life in danger or something bad might happen on that day.

 

So thats it for today. Teacher wanna rest...Riding to KL/SEPANG later. woooohooo!
