Yesterday my RS stalled in the middle of traffic, couldn't start again. Ended up pushing from near Bedok Reservoir road to First Motors at Ubi. 45 min of exercise.

Thinking of selling. Can't stand the noise from a 2 stroke engine anymore... CBR 150 next? Who knows...

wah

how come engine will stall?

plug fouled by 2T?

CBR150~

but confim u will find it lack of power

:cheeky:

i kind of like the 2stroke noise leh~

if only my cbr150 can produce that kind of sound legally...

Nothing restricting ...... but is yr bike in good condition ? did u clean & grease the chain ? are yr tyres & EO in gd conditions ? did u redline at 4th & 5th gears ?? Did u fill up with V-power ?? :p

2 strokers are a dying black art. It's not as clean as 4 strokers but it's still definately a beauty all in all. It's much more fun to tune and rebuild a 2 stroke if u know how the 2s and the 4s work.

Really?

I didn't know that. I was under the impression that on track the front pressure will still be lower than the back due to the fact that the front leads the corner.

I'm sorry for the noob questions, but would you mind explaining, why this is so?

Sincerely,

Norisha R.

On the track, its all hard accelerations out of the corners unlike road riding which is most of the time just cruising .

Hard accelerations and hard braking on the track will cause the tyre wall to flex and the rolling friction will heat up the tyres. DOT approved race tyres get soft with the heat and its this 'melting' that makes the tyre sticky and grip like crazy. When heat comes into the picture... the air in the tyres expand and the pressure increases.

Because the rear tyre will generate more heat than the front due to acceleration and also because of its larger size, more contact more friction, the pressure tends to go up more.

For example, when I race the little Y125Z, I set the rear tyre at 23.5 PSI and the front at 25 PSI when its cold.

When heated up, the rear goes up by 4.5 PSI to 28 PSI and the front will increase by 3 PSI to 28 PSI with the tyre temperature at about 110 degrees F. The front tyre is also smaller than the rear so the rolling friction is lesser which means less heat which means less pressure buildup.

Different tyres have different compounds that heat up fast or slow. Its the compound that provide the grip not the grooves. More grooves does not mean more grip. Grooves are only for water clearing its still the softness of the tyre compound that provides the grip.

Slick tyres (those without any grooves or treads) provide the most grip because they provide the biggest contact patch with the road. More rubber patch on the road means more grip and more rolling friction.

IMHO, those bikers who like to put on 'sotong' tyres are idiots. By reducing the size of their tyres.. they are reducing the contact patch they have with the road which means they have poorer braking and cornering grip. And when the contact patch is smaller the tyre wear is faster.

Bike riding already dangerous.. these idiots increase their risk by putting on smaller tyres. :faint:

It should be cheaper if the price didnt increase at the time i need to renew. Should have been paying less than 300 bucks this year.

Hopefully next year insurance price doesnt increase again.

if in the below 21yr old category, less than 1 yr riding experience p-plate, etc not surprising for the premium to reach $800-$1000 for KRR, esp those later plates like FZ and onwards.
