went to AGL to service my bike today. once again... it is well and running...

for those who is not really riding their bikes, i would suggest investing on a good battery charger cum conditioner.. i bought one, almost broke,

but it saved my battery. really good stuff..

and today i went to open port my bike..

not much diff though. zzz

wah...so wat maintenance did u do at AGL?

i remember that for SAF vehicles, they have a master switch to cutoff electric supply to the vehicle. perhaps this can help reduce battery discharge when vehicle is parked for slightly longer time periods? don't tink it's difficult to wire up a master switch for our bike.

:cheeky:

tink for open port..at least u get a deep purring sound when u open throttle bah? went to open up my airbox 2days back. took a screw driver and slash some holes in the stock paper element filter. fixed everything back and found the bike slightly more able to climb higher rpms + engine braking when u close throttle fully is lesser. besides that, for normal street riding, not much difference. no deep purring sound frm airbox when open throttle also.

:sian:

was still thinking that it was because i didnt slash enough holes! didn't touch the a/f tuning for carburettor also, cause duno how to do it (if it needs to be done at all) + worried that my FC will be affected.

Just like the kill switch on SP to prevent battery discharge haha.

Btw, last time my cbr150 air filter also got holes on it. It seem that you will need to adjust the a/f tuning on the carburettor to achieve better performance as the air intake will be slightly higher. This might make the fuel running too lean.

But it also depends how many holes you slashed. If not many holes, I think it is okay

well.. i did..

clean carb plus tune.

clear up the wires of my alarm [repack]

changed a toggle switch for my hazard light.

open port.

as for the open port, the carb need to be tuned, because u can hear minor back firing when it is being revved.

the effect of open port is obvious when rpm is above 4k.. you can hear the sucking in sound and the bike sounds more V8.. lol if u are into cars u will get what i mean la. but its quite a nice sound...

but after open porting to take in mind that FC def will be affected and dont so chew cheng go and use water spray on the open port...

There is no replacement for displacement, except for Ah Seng

wah..i remember the bro who was projecting w/ open pod mentioned that FC wont be affected after fixing his DIY pod leh.

shall monitor and see what happens to my Fc. i didn't really slash the stock air filter element too badly. out of so many layers of filter element compressed into the plastic frame, i only cut thru 2 layers.

:cheeky:

just wan to raise 2 different paths of thot regarding air filter mod (with no change in a/f tuning nor carburettor jets):

1. airflow is improved but same amt of air is being sucked in. same amt of air + same amt of fuel is combined and burnt. what is changed is only improved 'breathing'.

2. airflow improved and more air is sucked in given the same sucking power. more air + same amt of fuel is combined and burnt. results in too lean a/f mixture. as such, the air filter mod then leads to worse off performance unless u complement it with a whole chain of other mods to improve fuel intake.

what do u guys think? path of thot 1 or 2 is more correct?

:cheeky:

Both path also correct. Haha. It does depend on how you cut the layer. Too many of it increase the air flow. :cheeky:

Guys, just flushed out coolant in the radiator 1 & poured in new coolant. Coz feel the engine over heating quite fast nowadays.

I hve 1 Q regarding coolant. Is the coolant inside radiator connected to the coolant in the container under rider seat?

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

Normally I riding through BKE without much traffic my temp went up to 1/4 only. The last few days doing the same thing but temp went up to 1/2. So I decide to flush out the old 1. Also, usually in PIE jam my temp went up to 1/2 only, but last few days it went up to 3/4. Today see whether got improvement or not.

No, I hve no problem with the coolant. Just curious.

Yes they are connected :cheeky:

Thx for the answer Uncle Lim.

I very curious, after I flushed out the old coolant from the radiator, I fill in about half I flushed out from radiator. Then I put everything back & on the engine for half a min. After that I check the coolant in container under rider seat does not go down at all. So I open up again the radiator cap to hve a look at it. I didnt see any increasing in coolant, so I pour in new 1 some more to fill up fully the radiator.

This is why I wonder whether they are connected.
