until i found out how fast we can go if we drag every gear.

Amen to that my brother!!

And i may add..... if you are 5km away..... and if you squint.... you'll find that the CBR150 looks abit like a V-Strom...... :angel:http://bp3.blogger.com/_tlNNnBWXO6Q/R09xfuo0j1I/AAAAAAAABDo/NLm_5E_GZGk/s1600-R/V-STORM+DL1000+16.jpg

this has been troubling me for a few days already... went to check out a guy's FV plate CBR150... needed some touch up inside and out but the engine sounded and ran fine... was ready to put my cash down but decided to check a few more bike shops first...

then when i talked to my friends at work about wanting to get a CBR, they jokingly say they will scratch my bike every time they see it and steal my exhaust pipe... most of them started out with KR or SP, so they advised me as such....

but its true, no point putting $$ into a 2T bike which is so old... hopefully by the time i get my class 2, the CBR150 will still have some resale value....

thanks guys... anyone willing to put up photos of their bikes? interested to see how you guys do up your ride....

But now the bike outlook has changed somewhat now.... no pictures of how it currently is now.

This is not true..... this bike is not very popular.... the resale value is/will be almost non existent in a few years time... now i'm finding out my bike FX plate left 5 year COE also worth only $1.5k if push to bike shop.

In addition, new entrants to the 2B sports bike market keep pushing the price down....

Give it another 1-2 more years this bike become lelong already....

wonder how much it is worth for scrap... called up WY motor tiam the other day, CBR150 with COE till 2013 is selling 7k++ after adding insurance... sad to know that it will depreciate so much in such a short time...

no power? then you need to test ride Midzi's bike.

we don't outrun KRR's at 180 unless they give us the finger. or out-squeez SP's in traffic jams. neither do we rev rev at traffic lights just to have our slipper fall off. or topup petrol every 200-300 km. or worry about 2T issues.

scrap? i wont even think of it man... u can ask the guys here... how many of u had problems with:

1) PISTON JAM

2) WHITE SMOKE issues

3) petrol that lasts easily more than 4 days

4) falling slippers

......

and lastly...

the pissed off look that people show when u revvvvvvvv down the street. seriously, the VRRROOOOMMM from a class 2 bike is way more classy than a PEEEHHHHHHHHHHH from a 2-stroke bike.

Can resolve the piston ring issue by hearing. I don't know how to explain. LOL. 2 stroke has less moving parts. But piston ring wear off quite easily :(

willie, very paiseh i didnt take picture of my bike. =x

cos everytime reach carpark liao its my habit to canvas the bike... wait ah i clean my bike shiny shiny first then take pic.

at $7k u can get a brand new 1st hand CBR150 and throw in additional accessories already!

dont get conned~

i agree w/ the guys on cbr150 being a low resale value bike. but somehow, the bike is really low maintenance and has got gd fuel consumption. general wear and tear parts are also cheap to replace (although not readily available in Johor Bahru like the 2strokers or cub kias).

to be honest, to knw what type of bike suits u better, u really got to try out riding at least one of them 1st. i prefer fuel economy (usually this runs opposite to fast acceleration and high top speed) and sports outlook, so the cbr150 is for me. :)

i have tried out SP, KRR, Honda Wave, Yamaha X1. SP & KRR needs to be riden fast. if engine is not stretched, u will find issues like jammed valves, accumulated 2T in exhaust, piston, etc. generally, the bike will be less healthy & more costly to maintain than if u were to ride it hard. Cub kias are fun to ride, but less stable at corners (the ones i owned had dual rear suspension so it gets abit wobbly) and of course, doesnt have the sport-look i want.

dont bother abt new/old bike, etc. there is a chance u can get a gd condition old bike and lousy conditioned new bike. :goodluck: in yr find.

what the..7k?!?! add a few hundred enuff to buy brand new everything in liao! :faint: gosh, definitely gonna stay away from that shop now..what a rip-off!

just imo: a 2 yr old bike would roughly be 3.6-3.8k, its a good deal if u can find at 3.2-3.4k

..value hovers around 2k+ for older bikes, depends on condition

bikes normally depreciate the most within the first 2 years..after that it starts to level out..

i still think there will be a market for cbrs..its a good beginner bike, fc excellent, slightly faster and lighter than r15 too..

more pics..:D
