Hi all cbr 150 riders,

I got a question to ask, I am a cbr 150 rider. When I am in last gear and the RPM is around 7k, my speed is only 80km/h. When I try to go higher than 80km/h, my bike is like vibrating vigorously.

When I first bought this bike about 8 months ago before a car hit my exhaust, my bike can easily go up to 120km/h without very strong vibration.

Is this normal? What is your speed for your cbr150 at last gear 7k rpm? Any idea which part of my bike is damaged?

7K = 100km/h... Check your tire got air or not first.

Where can I check? I do not have a air gauge.

just go pump your tires to recommended pressure... i just do mine 220kPa for both although red devil say can go up to 280 for the rear.

okay thanks =), a foot pump is okay right?

there is free air pump at most petrol kiosks.

somemore the air pressure can be adjusted digitally at the press of a button.

so pls dont use footpump and pump manually~

Got problem then overhaul.... no problem no need to touch the engine...

got problem wouldn't that be too late??

anyway, i've been experiencing some clutch slipping when i rev my throttle past 9000rpm...clutch seems to disengage then the engine just roars without the power being transferred to the wheels...i suppose i need to change my clutch plate? any shop to recommend?

Up to you.... reccee around see which shop you would want to go to... cos all shops want to earn money... what can i say, one man's trusted shop is another man's poison carrot shop. And of course the waiting time at popular places such as Planet, Unique and Bikeworkz are very looooooooooooooong......

just wanna say hi to CBR150 riders.. quite new here...

Hi. I also new here...

1. yes, likely to be clutch plates gone.

2. is yr bike new or 2nd hand? if 2nd hand, how many years old is it? if the bike is like 5yrs old or above and is still on stock rubber brake hose, suggest to change. there is also chance that the brake pump kit needs replacement.

3. i usually whack 240kpa for both front & rear.

Hi Don, thanks for the help. It is still on stock rubber brake hose. Did anyone of you guys here change to HEL brake hose? How much izzit? The brake pump oso must change? Anyone change before? Can roughly tell me how much izzit for cbr150 and where to do it?

i changed to steel braided lines... but i did not change HEL.... mine are GPR.. both lines for $50, service brake pump (note, not change $40), plus workmanship $30.

perhaps it's time to change away the rubber hoses~

HEL is a gd brand. price-wise i estimate to be around $160 or $180 for both front and back brakes. alternatively, can get other brands of brakehose like what xXxRatedxXx recommend. :)

i actually suggested changing only the brake pump kit, not referring to the entire brake pump. :cheeky: brake pump kit replacement probably costs ard $45.

i like yr idea about doing preventive maintenance.

go to a reputable bike shop like those listed by xXxRatedxXx. get the shop to dismantle the engine and replace the timing chain. timing chain usually requires replacement after 100k KMs.

after the shop has taken apart the engine in order to access the timing chain, they should be in a better position to point out which other parts require replacement. i.e. if a shop simply provides u with a list of parts to change without 1st dismantling the engine, i think it may just be a 'black' shop.

i spent about $450 to do up new timing chain, new piston, new piston rings, new chain tensioner and other what-nots when my mileage was around 92k KMs. there was a unusual rattling noise from the engine that prompted me to send it for repairs. so do keep a lookout for such signs or symptoms before u make yr decision. :goodluck:

HEL brake is going at $130 @ unique (http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/212954-HEL-PERFORMANCE-BRAKE-LINES-(Back-by-popular-demand))

Do you mind providing me the breakdown of your $450 on ur repair? I am keen in changing my overrun timing chain as well, but need to be financially prepared for other problems too.
