Wonder where Rossi will be going after he's contract expire 2008?

Hope he don't retire just yet.

Rossi claims he not retiring just yet! Said he found new challenges with the new grid and the other factories are giving him! But yup, after 2008, whether he stays with Yammie is a mystery. However, he did said he's happy with Yammie, except for the recent signing of Jorge Lorenzo by Yamaha, lol.

Thing is, I'm sure happy that Rossi stayed on for a few more yrs because he set the benchmark that any championship contender should be. If he's not around, one will always wonder if the current champion as good as Rossi himself or not.

Rossi is good, and even if he did not win the championship for whatever reasons, at least whoever the current champion is did not had it easy.

From: http://www.motogpmatters.com

Rossi To Continue Until 2010 or 2011

At the annual Yamaha Day held in Rimini, Italy, Valentino Rossi talked about how he sees his future in MotoGP. The Doctor told journalists that what keeps him in MotoGP are fresh challenges, challenges he has found this year from Casey Stoner on the Ducati, and as long as he keeps finding fresh goals and challenges, he will remain in MotoGP. But, he added, his stay in MotoGP will one day come to an end, and it will come within the next five years. Rossi said he believed that he will leave "when I'm 31, 32 at most".

Rossi also talked about his intentions once his contract with Yamaha ends, after the 2008 season. "We'll see what happens after then," the Italian former champion said, but added that he was happy with Yamaha, and "there is no reason to change if you are happy with your team."

This website has always predicted that Rossi would stay for a while yet: Valentino Rossi is a man with a sense of history, and a keen sense of his own place in history. Rossi is within 7 wins of taking the record for the highest number of wins in the premier class, his current 61 wins just short of Giacomo Agostini's 68. He is also close to taking 2nd place in the rankings of wins in all classes, his current tally of 87 putting him just 3 wins behind Angel Nieto's total of 90, although Giacomo Agostini's grand total of 122 wins seems out of reach, unless Rossi decides to race in two different classes at some point in the future. Then there's Agostini's total of 8 premier class championships, which Rossi could match if he wins the next 3 seasons in a row.

Some of these goals seem achievable, others less so. We believe that Rossi will stay in MotoGP for at least another 2 seasons, leaving to go and race in the World Rally Championship, his second great passion. Rossi still has a few things to prove, and some people to beat conclusively, including Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo, before retiring. We will still be able to enjoy him yet.

Oh...ok. I guess he dun need to, for a man with 7 World Titles is definately a man with substances.

I thought your reason is as follows, extracted from http://www.motogpmatters.com:

"Valentino Rossi is a man with a sense of history, and a keen sense of his own place in history. Rossi is within 7 wins of taking the record for the highest number of wins in the premier class, his current 61 wins just short of Giacomo Agostini's 68. Yo!!! Hi man....how's things?

Ya lor, over here in US, the trackday commitee group you into 3 different classes...so ppl like me 1st timer (and actually the real fact is slow ), will be bump into noobie group.

Golden rule of noobie group is no overtaking except on straights or unless the rider infront crash or gives you clear signal to overtake him/her, something like that....so that's why if I kana slower riders, then I entertain myself by trying how low I can go lor, wahahaha....then maybe they might bump me up the next class. Probably if we have riders like Hart, Dol, Charn here, I'm not surprised they get bump up to the expert class within a few laps.

Yet to get a bike, much less a trackday. I found out all these infos on a forum consisting of riders around SF, and it's pretty good info as they talk about trackdays, workshops, the nice riders, the jerks in SF. Lots of  too cuz free speech here, pretty cool.

Have fun at PG and Sepang!!! Surely miss it man.

 Yo Doc!

Waiting for paperwork (PR) and also my boxes to arrive at my door...wanna take bike license already but waiting for helmet(s) and stuffs. Ya, I was thinking of a SM and then later a Sportsbike.

SM cuz I wanted to ride one, use it for commuting, plus it's a fun bike to learn the track first (since can go gravel cruising also ). Trackbike decide to get a used bike (supersports again) so have to save money. If wanna truck or van my bike like you, have to even save more $$$.... :faint:

Miss PG and Sepang, 25% track, but 75% people. That's to say I miss you guys back home but not so much, only 75%, wahahaha!

All the best in MSS for you, and everyone else.

Hilary.
