Hi guys, i planning to get a r6 or cbr6, but couldnt make up my mind... i love the outlook & design of the r6, simply irresistible... had tried n experienced the cbr6, totally love the performance...

heard from mah motors that the cbr6 is better in performance; r6 cannot even smell smoke? is that true?

oso noticed that lots of ppl selling r6, seen some FBB & FBC plates on sale, barely a year to a few months... is there some problems with r6?

wat abt fuel comsumption, repairs, parts? which is easier to find parts & which is more costly in maintance?

Some help guys? Thx a million!!!

tt yazi told me the same things today when i go dwn today

but research frm net shows tt r6 n cbr are on par oni cbr is lighter n better in corner

r6 is more to like evo more eletric parts both is ok see which one u like more lo

plan to get a cbr 600 den buy cbr 1000 mirrior fix connect wire the signal light at the side spoil the bike's look

i dun really understand wat u gonna do here. u mean the mirror for the cbr1000rr 08? which comes with signals? hmm....i tot leave the signals on the side looks better? jus get a pair of flush mount signals, it will look great. unless u r fixing a race fairing with no signal light hole on the side, so when u go track u jus remove yr mirror with signals and wallahhhhh...yr bike no lights at all....heheheh...dat wd look nice...if dats wat u trying to do.

to say r6 cant even smell cbr6 smoke is way too much lah. they are top rivals btw each other. also depends on rider lah. and also smell smoke where? highyway or track?

one website i seen, comparing r6 and cbr, cbr wins everything(like fuel consumption, handling, torque and a few more other things) EXCEPT, bhp. R6 bhp is a little bit more then cbr6. so high end power, an R6 cd overtake a cbr6. So maybe in highway, cbr6 will blast off first, but will be chase by r6 at higher end. But on track, mid range is more important i guess, dis is where the cbr6 has the advantage. but well...like i say, depends on rider too.

i jus went track today, play with a very experience rider who rides a cbr1000. but he was using a fren's kawa6. we spar on track coz i wanna learn from him, and i can tell u...kawa6 really really lack of mid range!!!!!!!! upon exiting a corner, thru the straight, i can easily overtook him. BUT, dis guy can still follow me very close behind despite the very obvious power difference btw my cbr6 and the kawa6. and also cbr6 has a far better handling den kawa6.

So....jus wanna point out, not jus the bike, its the rider too. And even if u get a less better handling bike, or less power bike, but if u get use to yr bike, u learn yr bike character, u will be able to turn yr bike into a far better handling bike and find the power in yr bike.

I learn dis from an experience rider today. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

So bro, different individuals can hav different rating on diff bikes. some people might say cbr6 is the best. while some will say r6. u hav to find yrs. but honestly speaking....if u not going track with yr bike, only for touring and normal road use...cbr6 will be the bike for u. R6 wont be comfortable for u. dis is from my point of view lah.

jus my 2cents worth......each individual has their own opinion. So dis is mine, at the moment....hehehehe:cheeky: :cheeky:

oh he was the 1 riding the r6 when trying out with his friend on track... maybe he was weak lol...

not neccesarily he is weak...probably it is hard to chase a good rider on a cbr6. we hav a damn fast rider here on track...he's nick mr crumbs..riding a fully STOCK cbr6 07...and he is fast...so i can say a stock cbr6 oredi hav the power to play on PG track.

both also 599cc so how can say r6 smell smoke? imho, i only smell 2-stroke smoke from rxk and diesel smoke from lorry. if u post this in the r6 thread they all will take out slippers and shoe all throw at you  both bikes are damned good la i would say that the big 4's middleweights and litre bikes are always head to head in terms of performance. it all boils down to the overall package of ergonomics, pricing, goodies like stock steering dampers, aesthetics and blah blah blah. sit on both bikes, download as many pictures you can of both, sit down and ogle at them everyday, read online reviews and take opinions with a pinch of salt. one day, you will make up your mind and you will be glad you made your choice yourself.

btw, some bikeshop staff don't know squat about bikes. they read and hearsay from every tom **** and harry then feed customers with useless crap. i prefer to do my own research with people whom have ridden the bike and read up on reviews where bikes have been tested together.

Cannot smell smoke?? Depends on rider i guess.... I always kana smoke by SPs and Kawa150... Sometimes even uncle on RXK aso smoke me... But wat to do? I very kiasee rider lah.... Scared to die... Hahaha... Actually, more scared to kana fine and demerits points... N aso scared bike fall liao must use alot of money to repair... That's y...

As for FC, so far i find the CBR600RR FC not bad... My friend's R6 oni manage to clock like 220km for full tank... But of coz, thats R6'06... As for R6'08, i not so sure...

As bothe bikes are equally new, i guess spare parts mite have the same difficulty to wait or find... As the bikeshop brings in only shipment by shipment... Maintenance wise, should be about the same lah... 4 spark plugs, 3 bot of EO, EFI... So should be almost the same... Just depends on whether u using more expensive EO and spark plugs or u change to a more expensive brake pads blah blah... Hope u get wat i'm tryin to say...

well....if u wanna go for R6, den go for it lah bro. Follow yr taste. Follow yr heart. dun follow others...heheheh.....FOLLOW ME...(shampoo brand)

Yeah.... Always follow ur heart.... So that when u regret, u wun have to blame others.... Can just blame urself... Hahaha...

hey prank, does your bike feel a little skittish in the front when going straight at low speeds? like don't want to stay straight like that? after i changed to the qualifiers, i noticed this in my front and i wonder if it's normal. the stock bridgestones were not like this.. btw, i think i got a lousy tyre, i lost the front and rear to tar marks and white strips twice already. luckily never buang.. sh*t man, should have sourced for bridgestones instead. now have to use this pair for at least 1 year before i change again..
