Hi guys, I have just met up with FX110.

Very knowledgable young man.

I was thinking maybe we could organize a C70 outing.

Just a simple meeting in a neighborhood coffee shop to exchange our views or ideas from fellow C70 riders.

Anyone?

Nobody interested in meeting up?

Maybe it is such a small group of bikers riding C70?

Anyone interested, do pm or call me.

Cheers!

Seems good. The 877 size of 70/90 should be excellent for the rear.

Just my 2 cents input on tyre size for c70. (This is from my personal experience so please dont hesitate to correct me if I am wrong):

Front tyre: Closest metric sized equivalent to oem recommendation of 2.25 inch I think should be 60/90. 60/100 for front tyre will result in inaccurate speedometer readings due to the overall diameter. 70/90 for the front will not be able to have sufficient clearance and the side of the tyre will rub against the front fender (assuming that the fender is genuine stock). The malaysian square headlight c70(GBO/GBOJ) or the Indonesian c70 (Astrea700/800) may have front fenders that can accomodate a 70/90 tyre in front but from experience, the square headlight Singapore c70's front fender will not be able to. I was using 70/90 in front when my fender was a chiong one (suspect it was Astrea fender) but have to change tyre when I replace the fender with a genuine C70 piece.

Rear tyre: Closest metric sized equivalent to the oem recommendation of 2.5 inch I think should be the 70/90. The rear of our C70 can accomodate 80/90 with sufficient clearance. 80/90 will give more stability at the expense of a slight reduction in acceleration.

Hello all,

I am seriously looking for a vintage c70 that comes with original round headlights and an A plate for collection. If you are looking to sell yours, please contact me. Full cash payment.

Cheers,

Seth

I am also looking for one exactly like what you described....original round and A plate...:).

Sam, from Yong Guan (desker rd, the one doing spoke truing) has got one stripped down completely, now undergoing total overhaul and the whole works. A plate. The asking price will be very high, that is if you can persuade him to sell....:)

Thanks gunshead!

Since we are on the subject to do with wheels, maybe we can extend a little to talk about the 72 spoked wheels for c70:

The 72 spoked wheels that are made in Malaysia/Thailand may look great on C70, any model. They may be a cheap way to enhance the classic look of your c70 but these wheels have radial spokes. That is to say the spokes extend in a straight pattern from hub to rim. Because they are straight laced and not laced to conform to any of the proven crossed spoked patterns, they tend to be weaker. The weakness of the spokes is especially so near the hub because the stock c70 uses drum brakes and hence there is a concentration of pressure exerted at this area especially during hard braking. Rough riding and hard bumps will also cause the spokes on this type of lacing pattern to break or bend much easier than conventional crossed spoked wheels. Feedbacks that I had gathered so far from some of the c70 users of this type of wheels were mostly negative. Further checking with spoked wheel experts confirmed that these type of lacing pattern is not suitable for practical usage of the bike.

But they really look great, don't they? Other opinions are most welcomed.

OMG. I just ordered the 72 spoked rims but yet to fix up. Haha... Let's wait for my review then.

C70 square headlight model still can find at bikeshops if you look around:

Just saw one at the bike shop along the row of shophouses at Changi rd, coming down from bedok towards geylang on the left just before still rd.

If possible, for square headlight, look for the 12volt cdi model. This model I think is from 1994 onwards. Better power, self adjusting cam chain and etc. This export model for Singapore should have chasis no. starting from C705500006 onwards and engine no. C70E2600007 onwards. Model is C70CW/C70CWR.

Anyone interested, do sms me at 94555258. (Jimmy)

I will try to accomodate to everyone's timing and venue.

Cheers!

I doubt you will need any of these:

(All used except last item)

Original, complete headlight assembly for square headlight model taken from my 12volt model but interchangeable with 6volt model, just change the bulbs. Under side of frame some rust on the chrome. It's free if you really need otherwise I keep as spare.

A pair of rear shocks (long version approx. 33cm eye to eye or 36cm tip to tip for short-ended swingarm models) - only available in about 2 weeks when I receive my new ones. Usable condition but a bit rusty at the top under the eyes. Not sure if it is original. FOC.

Original swingarm. short-ended version for later models with longer type rear shocks. Red. Very good condition taken from 1999 C70. Come with original stickers- 'Honda motor co. Ltd made in Japan' and the honda emission compliance sticker. Also come with a pair of original passenger foot pegs, metal part a bit rusted but with the hard to get original foot peg washer (plus 1 pair of cheap chiong new foot pegs if you want). This swingarm I intend to sell in ebay but if you need, can discuss.

Original aluminium crankcase covers L and R. Left side high polishing halfway, right side unpolished but silver paint removed for high polishing or chroming.

Original side stand. Good condition. Good for chroming.

Original rider foot bar. Very good condition. Good for chroming.

Original rear fender rubber mudguard (or mudflap?) for square headlight model. Good condition. Hard to find original.

Original front cover for square headlight model (without front emblem). This is the piece under the headlight where the front emblem is attached.

Original front fork caps, 1 pair black colored in good condition. New original ones are hard to come by. (Those cheap after market ones are flimsy and cannot fit snugly).

A pair of reasonably good quality gold coloured emblem for side covers (battery box and tool box), brand new and unused, with econo power and cdi inscriptions to replace the original econopower stickers for the later 12 volt cdi model. After market replacement. Not for those who want stickers/emblems to be in original form.

Pm me if you need any of these.

Looking for the following. Will deeply appreciate any lobangs to get them here or overseas.

1) Front fork repair kit for square headlight C70 model.

2) New or used after market solo seat and passenger rack with or without passenger seat, those that are meant for square headlight models without modification and not those ebay thailand type that are meant for passport models that will not fit.

3)Replica econopower sticker set for fuel tank and side covers (blue and red striped) and not other c70 models.

4)Genuine NOS c70 exhaust. Not the small mouthed banana type for earlier round headlights but the type with wider mouth that comes with the later models.

5)Genuine NOS (Stanley) for both left and right front winker lights C70 square headlight model -complete assembly not just lens cover.

6)Genuine NOS (Stanley) front fork reflector for C70.

Many thanks.

Hi guys, I met up with a lao jiao from this C70 thread today. He seems to know everything about C70. After meeting him, I realise I know nuts about this cub. I took some pics of his bike but I promise I would not post on this thread. Hee... It is the nicest C70 I have seen. (I am going to mod my C70 like his).

I would consider myself lucky as I have met the 2 most hardcore C70 riders in the recent weeks. One of them likes to go on track with his C70 and the other is crazy about the cosmetic outlook of his C70.

Anyone care to join me? I assure you that you would benefit from the outings with them.

Cheers,

Jimmy

Hi all,

not sure why I do not have permission to post new threads '( so got to tag on here for the time being. (maybe not enough posts, lazy to read through all those rules)

so Im thinking of selling my very cute C70

COE ends Feb 2014

ROAD TAX ends Aug 2011

COLOR Green & White

ASKING $1.2k (negotiable)

the bike is so vintage I cant say for sure hows the condition.

But I have spent about a year and more than $1300 trying to fix & restore as many of its engine parts to stock/original as it was full of aftermarket **** and problems when I first bought it.

Now it hardly gives me problems.

Would like to keep it as a 2nd bike

But cant afford the hassle.

Come down to view (Ang Mo Kio)

sms 9432 7078

a bit hesitant to sell so unless the offer is reasonable i will just hold on longer to it.

Plate is it FC9005R? If it is, all that aftermarket "sh*t" is install by me. I would like to buy it if you give me a gd offer. Btw, I spent over 2.5k on the sh*t so i would be glad to pay more if you still some or most of those around.
