hi guys!!

 

I'm a pround sonic rider too :) I want to mod the bike so could someone share some experiences. I'm thinking of:

 

1. Buy a racing cam: anyone knows which cam is good and where to buy it?

 

2. Caburetor: I heard alot about Keihin cab but it's expensive!! So anyone knows other good brand cab or where to get the Keihin cheap? Also what is the best size for Sonic, 28mm?

 

3. Exhaust: is the Endurance muffler sold in Thailand good or I should go for Yoshimura and which model? And replace the muffler only or the whole pipe?

 

4. Brake: Can I fit brake disc from CBR( or TMZ or Aprilla) to Sonic? Is it really better than the original brake?

 

Any other suggestions ?

Ask urself 1st u want mod the bike for what sort of purpose.

 

If for track purpose then it's diff from mod top-speed

lifeless: not for track. I just want to get a bit more performance for the weekend runs :) Like more torque for accelaration, that sound-effect (like the bigger CBR!!) from the exhaust (hehe), better stability (I only rode up to 120 and the bike vibrated a lot!!).

 

I use it everyday so really don't want to racetrack-mod, but more like "upgraded" performance :) can you give some hints on where to start?

srs125> i run at 130 before, head down, straight flat road. vibration smooths out about that speed. it's bad at 120 somehow.

 

start with carb :D

then maybe u just get a bigger stroke cc engine will solve ur problem.

 

I have one extra engine, if u interested then let me know

maybe u can change to a SP carb, cheaper.

 

The pick up will be much more better, i believe some members here see my sonic before.

Kevin> It was a CBR150 HEAD (DOHC) with a modified crank and a flatslide carb.

I think the total capacity of that engine was near 200cc. NASTY!

Hey guys.. i got a question to post.. you see.. my sis rides a sonic but this morning when she started the thing just wont start.. when pressed the starter.. it goes very soft like no eletric like that.. but the neutral light still got light.. dunnoe whether is it the battery oor wiring.. anybody experience this before? i just changed the batteries two weeks ago.. couldn't be drained so fast right? anybody please help?!! :cry: :giddy:

Sonic is one of the easiest bikes to push start. I always used 2nd gear though.

1. Turn the key to on

2. Place in 2nd gear

3. Pull in Clutch

4. Push the bike until it gets up to a reasonable speed (very easy with a sonic)

5. Jump on (or you can push while straddling the bike)

6. Dump the clutch and the bike should start.

7. Normally right after the engine fires it's advisable to pull the clutch in again and rev the bike a little to warm it up.

 

Anyway, sounds like your bike has a flat battery which could be due to the rectifier or just due to the battery no longer being able to hold charge.

 

You don't need to press the starter button at the same time. DO NOT DO THIS!

ask ur motor shop to check if the bike can charge up or nt...

hahah..yeah.. hey.. btw anybody noes where to get a Sonic Rectifier.. the mech says the rectifier very weak.. charge a bit only.. need a new one.. anybody noes where to get a cheap one? i heard need to order?

Try LAB 1st and if no luck then try Chong Aik (not so cheap).
