Topic : problem with wave after riding long at 110-120km/h

Description : Nil

********************************************************************

problem with wave after riding long at 110-120km/h

seems that your piston will kanna scratch against the block

you can still run at 120km/h when it's scratched

but your bike will have lesser power/pickup

and your engine oil will start to be used up at a very fast rate

anyone got experience on this?

is it due to type of engine oil? eg semi/fully syn

or is it that our bike not supposed to run at 110-120km/h for long?

I think Wave the Fuel injector is meant to worK at a Low Run Rate so when we "tua" Our Wave to the Max Full throttle..the Fuel tend to overflow or oVerwoRk thus casuing Piston jam in long Run or StrongEr Fiction against the BLock.........

Heard from Thai Kup Riders that They ofTen Run @ 110 km but they also Us e A certain type of engine oil that suppose to promote better combustion and Cleaner Engine deposits..... not sure wat it is..........

my engine is rather noisy for a 4 stroker ley...theres this deep bassy sound when i go at a certain speed at certain gears. This applies to all the 4 gears. Sounds abit like when riding a TZM but quieter than it.

tat is not the problem with wave.

tat is the problem with the wave owner, never check oil level constantly. do check & top up oil as and when required.... if the oil is enough, where got such issue?

that is one issue

the other issue is that imagine your 4t used up within 2 weeks of riding. it's that problem with not topping up or problem with engine liao?

the consumption of 4t is too high, thats why i say the engine problem

first thing first

idle mixture too low

2nd

air fuel mixture too rich

and time to change your spark plug to a fresh one! $5 (this one should change monthly)

maybe your air filter also chokey! $15 (usually no need to change ah, unless you nv change b4)

wash wash your carburetor $8 (also no need to always wash one, maybe every 6 months?)

90% of the time will solve your problem liao

do the first one before the 2nd one

idling screw should be as low as possible, but no stall the engine. u turn ? clockwise after the lowest stable idling point

for air fuel mixture, default should be 1? rounds anticlockwise after you screw in all the way

if the both cannot solve your problem (meaning you are the 10%)

den big problem

big problem

first thing first

auto drive not working properly

2nd

engine problem maybe

either your air/fuel mixture is not correct or your idle is too low. Chances are your problem lies there.

I always ride my Wave 100-110 @ expressways but so far okie. Just that when cold it's kinda weak.

Heard that wave need to change engine oil every 2 weeks/ 1 month?? Just bought it so Im quite a dummy at it, just listening to friend's feedback though. Do we need to service the carburettor often as well?

I think when u ride at that speed, confirm chain loose .. then u'l feel the power is slack ... engine oil is not leaking .. it's evaporating ! so remember to top up .. check every week

Actually, for a wave, 1st 500km running in, use mineral oil.. coz it helps protecting ur metal piece of piston and block. after that try to drain out the oil, pour in new engine oil .... run around carpark for about 2km mileage, drain out again .. then use the good one .. that can last u longer

reason y ur piston scratch :

coz u never drain out and flush the engine properly thus, new bike, piston and block making clearance, so many chips are being grinded off from blocks ... engine oil's 2nd duty is to bring all the chips to oil filter (if any) or back to the reservoir ... that's y u should not be stingy on engine oil from the start u buy the bike ..
