In my opinion, its much safer running on street tyres and slightly larger diameter front discs... Wonder why they would deem motard converts illegal...

u've got orchard trails..and now u've got orchard motards. it's a waste not to utilize the motard on the tarmac track. thats where it truely belong.

thanx raptor n reymund fer ur response.. cos i mite be gettin a K5 Drz4Sm.. but da ex-owner uses it only fer track.. so i dunno if its advisable to get da bike or not.. but based on ur comments.. da owner does regular oil change after each track use.. so i guess shudn`t be a problem.. so lookz like i mite grab da bike.. thanx guyz..! hope to join u guyz soon.. cheers..! =)

ya wheelsize different and it is "by right" not approved. but as those seasoned motarders say, ROV dun care, inspection also can pass. just do lo.

 

Last time also say car on fog light 1000dollar fine 3m months jail. Even during crackdown period i on fog light say hullo to TP also never get pulled over. Law is there to cover their backside, in case they nothing to charge u with or u cause some accidents while motarding/fog lights, then they have something to give u jialat jialat make u pay for ur misdeeds.

supermotard modification initially is in the grey area ... but an unfortunate & selfish incident ... some a55hole go and COMPLAIN to the authorities ... and as usual ... if gahment can make money ... they will ... so they did ... so you ppl suffer ...

cos ktm is the one of the few that bother to send their bikes with motard setup to some organisation for inspection, after it was certified safe , pass blah blah blah standard, they sent the reports and all that to LTA, thus now any KTM (be it offroad/motard stock) can be fitted with motards and it is COMPLETELY legal!

are the mods cheaper compared to eg. sportbikes?

whats the FC like and is the regular maintenance expensive?

I've been thinking of getting a Dual Purpose 650 bike and convert it into a supermotard... Is it possible and what is likely cost of such a conversion? I'm looking to get an old DR65, XR 650, KLX 650, Dominator or Pegaso to do this conversion.... Am I looking at an impossible project?? Will this dream become a reality??

 

Or am I better off getting a ready made SM??

Intinally when i first bought the bike from bike shop it gave me countless number of problem.. spend a bomb more than $2k plus to do up the bike to this condition... ok see on to know more about my bike..

 

1) Totally whole new plastic juz 3 weeks old

2) IMS 12.1 litres tank with white ims shrouds - $550

4) YZ250 tail mod to fit my bike white in color - $60

Guys is a really superb condition and no rust parts u can find on my bike.. even all the nuts and screws are polished and bike always in bike cover when park overnite and the only rust part is the muffler which how i scrup also cant make it better haha.. reason for selling cos my dad will sponsor me a bit in getting a twin cab van for me and gf prefer 4 wheel than 2 wheel.. letting go at $5000. Interested pls pm me... Engine tip top is the most important, after fixing the engine no problem at all.
