If you have browsed to the last page of that said thread (page 4 actually), you can actually find quite a fair bit of general information on the bike

of course, you can always shoot you questions, and I will be more than happy to answer you... BUT, please do not ask questions like top speed lah.... compare it with this bike and that bike, which bike pick up faster lah... those questions are hard to answer

new here and would appreciate advice on the following,

1) jump on a scrambler over 10 years ago and always fell cos tip-toe and riding style diff from sport bike. looking for used motard and visited Tuas circuit. any lesson to be taught for motard beginner? cos I am truely not familiar and know nothing about motard riding.

2) seat height issue - do not feel comfortable tip-toe and how can i adjust lower? trim seat, lower suspension? I am abt 1.68m tall.

3) was told that DRZ400SM is most hot motard? true? or any alternative?

getting old so hopefully dont break any bone too early too soon. and dont mind the repeated questions here if it had appeared too often else where in this forum. Thanks. Cheers

1) If you are interested in track riding, there's a bunch of friendly supermoto trackies over at supermoto.sg. Kudos to Raptor that always conduct riding clinic free of charge from time to time

2) No problem with 1.68m, same height as me. When I 1st cross over to motard, I was also very concerned about the seat height, turns out to be fine. I even prepared shorter shock spring and front fork springs for my bike in the end also never use. If you're are really uncomortable riding a tall bike, you can try shaving the seat foam.

3) DRZ is the 'hot' motard right now because it's most common motard in singapore. Adavantage is that 2nd hand parts and aftermarket parts are plently and the engine is damm reliable.

If you're looking for something 'unique' or something more race ready then DRZ might not be for you.

With Raptor at 50 plus and still ripping the youngster's asses, age's not an excuse..lol

If u're using ya motard for daily commuting as well as fun track riding, then DRZ would be good enough.

For pure track addicts, the KTM or Husqvarna would be a better choice. Made to race! Ready to Race! kekeke....:cheeky:

Daily usage on a KTM or Husqvarna might result a very very big hole in ya pocket.

of cuz, not forgetting WR4 and XR4, these two models also make a very fun bike on a go-kart track.

unfortunately, no street legal kawasookee motards on the roads yet!

thanks guys or gals. Went to supermoto but cldnt access to technical detail cos still under validated. Also concern over ride height issue cos very clumpsy. Went down to tuas last weekend to meet raptor but unfortunately I was in a rush & he was having so much fun in his cub kia I left before seeki g his advice. Spoken to 2 other guys on track but didn't want to disturb their track. Kinds left wondering whether to do or not. Haa. Probably will shop for a bike first. Thks again.

Height isn't much of a issue.

Seat height can be reduced by shaving of seat or lowering your suspensions.

but i wouldn't recommend lowering of suspensions as it would affect the geometry of the bike.

1.68m tall is good enough already. i have friends, both male and female, either at your height or shorter than you, being able to handle a motard with no height issue. :thumb:

From my last 3 experiences I'm pretty clumpsy. Haa....
