why do u want to replace the wire? the wire is part of the CDI. can't be changed. that was wat i was told by the shop. only thing can replace is spark plug or the spark plug cap.

I saw the wire very dry and hard thinking already 10years maybe is time to change :cheeky:

Many bike can change easily why phantom cannot need to change the CDI also?

Not sure. Dats wat i was told. Probably because the stock one comes with the CDI i guess. Cant be sold seperately. If u can find aftermarket ones, u r free to try la. :)

i just checked its working leh? the internet is very the slow today!

Funny I try 2 days at home cannot log into the site but at work can...

The info on the site very deep :cheeky:

"Calculating the percentage change in sprocket ratios:

((new ratio / old Ratio) - 1) * 100 = change as a percentage.

NOTE: Positive percentages indicate higher gearing ratios, negative numbers mean lower gearing ratios

Example (using the numbers from the first set of equations):

Motorcycle had a 3.1333 sprocket ratio,

cycle will now have a 3.3333 sprocket ratio

((3.3333 / 3.1333) - 1) * 100) =

((1.0638) - 1) * 100) =

(.0638) * 100) = 6.38% change"

Sprockets (Front / Rear tooth count) 13/41 and 13/37

41/13=3.15

37/13=2.85

3.15/2.85= 1.11

1.11-1= 0.11

0.11*100= 11% change?

So will have 11% top speed change?

theoretically, YES. but in the real world, sorry to say no. cux with such a small engine, it wont really have the torque to pull u all the way to top speed. downlope maybe still okay, but flat, it will take forever. dats y the only advantage u gain is probably a lower rpm at the same speed.

Hi Guys,

If is possible to mod Phantom TA200 top speed to 140km to 160km?

Currently my top is 120km to 130km.

:)

Yap. Later I show you photo. :p

I nv try top speed but like i say i can hit 130. Possible to hit maybe 140 if downhill.

Confirm-ed can hit 140km/hr.

Hi naim,

Thanks for the advise I think only left you very active in Phantom Knight. haha

I have research that Honda Shadow & Yamaha Dragstar both top @ 140km/hr running in stock.

Honda Shadow 650cc top only 150km/hr must be the weight... :p

I think if mod the cylinder and change to bigger piston will fail the yearly inspection

I think left option mod the sprocket to 39 tooth and lose the pick up speed for touring use.

:cheeky:

Muahahahaha! Might as well buy Phantom!

Can go 140km/hr also!

Look carefully, it's not yet 140km/hr, but between 135-140km/hr. ;)

Close but not yet.

Once downslope sure can hit 140-150km/hr. :thumb:

Finally installed 37T and managed to hit 120km/h easily. But engine alr screaming so i backed down. Was riding along westcoast highway when suddenly smell engine oil burning. Knn thot bike overheat from over stress due to new sprocket. Was travelling at 85km/h. Then went past a truck, realised its the truck smell. Few secs later smell something burning, i thot wtf dont tell me really is my engine overheating and burning?? Then infront saw a container truck smoking out white smoke. When got nearer to it the trailer brakes are jammed but truck still moving, overheating and burning the brakes. Driver is aware of it and cant stop as there are no road shoulders (was on top of the bridge). What a bad shock man.

lol its like u either hv to get used to it or not get so paranoid =X but 37T can maintain 90kmh or 100 comfortably without overworking the engine?

No worries. I weigh 90+ and my bike had 3 boxes. Still can cruise comfortably at 100-110.

so its not a weight issue! then does it means with pillion the speed performance will still be increased instead of struggling to maintain 90kmh for e.g.?

90km/h sure not a prob. But anything like 120 might be struggling, not due to the weight, but increased drag from the pillion. Normally weight will come into factor when going uphill.
