Update:

K&N Air Filter.

U****e does not sell it anymore. What's disappointing is the sneer & condescending tone that the salesman saying they do not sell it & that the Phantom don't need it, as the normal ones will do.

Sadly, that's the service standard of many.

Well i notice that too wen i was riding my phantom. They tend to not really entertain us, maybe esp wif small bikes.

But he was somehow right. Phantom dont nd k&n filter. Not worth it. Minimal difference. Change ur stock one every 10k km better. No nd to mess wif cleaning n all.

Yes, I understand that the gains are minimal. Done my fair share of touring & track time plus I'm a mechanic myself, though not the 2 wheels ones. Have other, erm... plans for my old Phantom. Hehehe.

Sorry, I have been overseas, only back in SG this few days. If I can be of any help, please contact me. What kind of modifications are you interested in?

Is it normal for your carb to 'sweat' after a ride? Mine seems to have like water droplets condense at the carb after a long ride.

im not too sure if its normal but mine does and im hving carb issues. dunno if my intake is leaking cos i hv to keep tightening screw a from time to time, plus it always backfires after i engine brake after a highway run and the sweat usually appears after then.

regarding this i posted in the other thread but only yat replied.

when i bring down to ah chong few wks down probably will ask cos really no time to go down.

anyway its more obvious for me when i ride late night after 12am so not too sure if its related to the %RH.

Thanks sawfly, mine use to keep backfire whenever I close throttle, fix the problem that time I did my overhaul, shld be the carb screw A problem.

from i know if backfire during decceleration or close throttle means lean condition. might be more than just a screw a problem cos some of the folks here seem to be indicating that its some air suction valve issue. (the valve supposed to restrict air intake during engine braking to prevent sudden lean but i not too sure how it applies to ta200).
