Hi

1)i think most likely is your air/fuel mixture ratio.. or go wash carb, change air filter lor..

2)i just turn on the engine and e-start my bike lor. Maybe my idling higher, won't get this kind of problems.

3)Aft a heavy rain, most likely condensation has surrounded the engine cover. Engine actually get quite hot even for warming up, for my case.

I suggest you go for a full servicing - service carb / change air filter / change eng oil / change spark plug / adjust air/fuel ratio

4) Come down to our June 10 East Coast BBQ and let all the fellow WaveRiders do a medical checkup on your bikey ~ :)

cheers~

sorry the price i dunno already. I only know 2nd hands one are going as cheap as 2.1K to 2.5K. Very worth it. For cub rides, i would rather get a 2nd hand one as repair costs are so cheap compared to those big cc bikes. So save the 1k diff to soup up the ride.

wave i hard to find on the road. I also dunno the price. Sorry mate.

is it possible that my idling is too high? cos sometimes i smell the smoke smell at times.. and also at gear 1 stationary position the bikes jerks a lil bit repeatedly..

what do u guys think?

could high idling have played a part in the difficulty in starting the bike?

i read previous posting tat wave-i is the most problematic among the 3.

boon siew don't support n didn't import wave-i cos fuel injection not reliable.

fuel injection unit replacement cost about $300+. :giddy:

those u see on the road r imported by other motortiams. :sian:

Then why does boon siew bring in the innova I ??? its also a single cylinder fuel injection model that looks exactly like the blue wave-i with identical stickers, just that the wordings are different. Yes the first batch was problematic, but not the second batch. Fuel injection relys on sensors and when 1 sensor spoilts, most motortiam simply dont have the knowledge to find and replace the sensor, they do it the easy way by smoking the customer saying the whole unit spoilt liao.. must change the whole thing. Then the customer also no choice change everything when all was needed was a replacement of a particular sensor.

Sounds like you are one of 'those' customer.. even if u are not, dont go around bad mouthing a particular model based on hearsay.

Sorry if this sounds harsh to u.

i say i read from previous postings..........

u r rite, the first batch always got some gitches.

u ever wonder y there r still not many wave-i around, except for tat nova....someting tat u mention.. :sian:

Yes i understand y there is not much wave-i around, because people scared when they hear abt the first batch. And furthermore, a wave-i cost about $800 more, people that buy honda wave are people mostly on a budget. Its not that practical for them to pay $800 more.

You mean you have seen alot of innova-i on the road? I have only seen 1 innova-i on the road so far for the past 2 years. Have you seen it before in the first place? There is also a normal innova that runs on a carb. and the innova models are sold by boon siew.

For fuel economy I think Wave-I is da best. For me I am still happy to own Wave-S cause it is problem free and when want to service easy not like the Wave-I. It's up to individual preference in the end.

why do u consider servicing not as easy as wave-s? i only service my EO and spark plug. wave-i dont have a carb so no need to wash compared to a wave-s. If you want to mod until like siao get a wave-s cause all motortiam know how to mod carb bikes, most dont know how to modd a fuel injection bike. If you want to relax and go for good fuel consumption get a wave-i.

It's because Wave-I got EFI thing. Electronic stuff once wear n tear have to change the whole EFI box if spoil already. Everything wear n tear. Carburator less likely to spoil if never modify. Like i say in the end up to individual preferences.

Mehanical have moving parts, electronic dont. which produces friction and which electronic doesnt. Carb every mechanic also know how to fix, EFI if spoil need to change the whole thing? this is because the people bring to mech that dont know how to fix and give them a easy solution of changing the whole EFI when only a change of a particular sensor is needed.

Almost all class 2 bikes from '03 onwards EFI already leh.. Dunno y sg mech dont want to go upgrade their skills..

Actually there is no need to fix it unless you everyday must full throttle to work/school. My bike is the second batch and i have also rode my friend's first batch.

The only problem when i ride his bike is when im running at about 110+ and want to wack more, i turn the throttle to the max position and a power cut will come in, if i turn it to the point just before the max position, the power cut doesnt come in. For wave, its better not to travel at more than 100 cos the bike is so damn light and unstable. somemore wave travel at more than 100 engine abit siong liao. Travelling at 70-90 is the best in my opinion for a smooth ride.
