im tryin to figure out e logic...how does toppin up too much coolant in e spare coolant tank damage the fin on e radiator?very intriguing indeed....

Bro, beware. Topping up too much coolant will damage the fin on the radiator. If the radiator coolant level is low juz top up water.

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

Cos of the chemical in the coolant. It may cause corrision on internal of the radiator and cause leakages.

coolant itself is a chemical that can withstand heat n protects the internal parts of the bike's cooling system. coolant will not vapourised as much as water at 100 degrees. n oso prevent internal parts from rusting.

coolant is running in an enclosed system n it shd b topped full else it will suck from the spare tank as time passes. so the cooling system is always full n the expansion tank is subjective. so over top of coolant at expansion tank, the extra will leak off after time. no heart burning issue here. the only issue is owner is rich, wanna waste coolant like that.

to start with, why will one top up the reserve till the brim? what good does it do?

for normal usage, once top up to the correct level, it wil stay there till your next flushing... unless your radiator leaks or what...

so just top till between max and min can already....

concentrated coolant which needs dilution like water wetter, shd b diluted accordingly. premixed like coolaide, just pour in.

threadstarter didn't mention clearly. :sian: anyway, too concentrated, no good. too dilute, oso no good. have to b just right...

hey guys...

juz flush my coolant.. but notice tat my bike gets even hotter wile riding.. at where de coolant is located.. izit normal? riding a spec 2 btw..

What coolant are you using and how many litres did you top up? What was the previous coolant used?

Did you notice there's any leakage from the coolant hoses? Is the coolant level within the min & max level as indicated at the reservoir?

Posted
hi anyone knows hoe much coolant in terms of litres do you need should you do flushing?

The capacity of the coolant system is 2.2l, but 1 bottle of Maxima Cool Aide (around 1.9l) is sufficient.

D.I.Y coolant change is fun :cheeky:

If u flow too much, the overflow tube will flow the coolant into the petrol tank. This way, it will help to keep the engine even cooler coz the coolant gets to flow thru the carbs and seeps thru the engine, unlike petrol that is burned off at the exhaust.

the job of coolant is to take away heat from the engine so as to keep it cooler at the required operating temperature.

good coolant will remove more heat from the engine; the coolant heats up more as more heat is taken from the engine. hence you feel more heat while riding. it is a good sign that your coolant and cooling system is working fine.

hope this clarifies.
