Topic : Noise heard at rear brake ( Drum brake )

Description : High pitch noise at rear brake

********************************************************************

Hello Guys,

just to see u all have this problem.

these 2 days, i realise that my rear brake got a hitch pitch noise when i try to brake using it. This noise is heard when i am abt to stop at traffic light or going stationary. It is ok when slowing down using the rear brake.

Any same experience or u know what is causing the noise, please share with me. Thank you.

Thanks Sky_80,

yes the owner changed from JB. he told me that.. I will bring it to my mechanic and see what he says. I think the noise appears after changing the brake pad..before that it is not so obvious.. anyway, thanks. will keep you update.

mine last time alos got that screechy sound

then realise that together with the noise came the damaging of my rims.........

cos that time my bike quite F#$ked up, then the shop use wave 125 parts for my wave 110, which dun fit, and instead of eating the brake pad, it was eating my rims............ :giddy: :giddy:

then went to change the whole rom to those that can fit the 125 model

Hello cs_kup_oh,

thank for your feedback. I guess it may not be the same problem as the owner has rode the bike for quite some time..Anyway, I will check with my mech. later.

Wonder if it is our fluid brake is low and that why cause this problem...

Rear brake is drum not disc so not brake fluid

Hello guys,

just to share the comment by my mech.

I told him the symptom and he immediately tells me water seeps in. After a few day it will be ok. Today i try to jam brake and the noise disappears. The noise actually appears after heavy rain in the morning last week.. sO i think maybe water really seeps in.. but i wonder how come water can seep in.. maybe it is not probably fixed when replacing the brake pad? hmmm..

ello guys,... i've had ringing noise experience too...

i fixed the prob myself after the mechanic told me the prob... sometimes even new brakes also will have... it's because there are some debris on the pads... just simply remove your rear wheel take out the brake and clean it with a dry cloth.

have fun taking out your rear wheel! LoL

it's definitely gotta haf some problem wif the sports rim as per mentioned by my Boss(Sky korkor-lol yea yea 747 *wink*)..alternatively it could be u changed to new rear brakes datz why it's not seasoned yet.Datz probably explained why u oni hears the sound occasionally then.Regards..:thumb:
