actually penang is only a stopover for me. i actually went to thailand via hat yai~krabi~phuket and back. didn't take photo cos i jus wanna experience riding into thailand.

had to say thai drivers really suck... there was once when this GIGANTIC truck try to overtake another GIGANTIC truck by changing into my lane...idiot... situation was made worst cos that stretch of road (towards krabi) was under construction with lots of sand. i fishtail abit trying to brake hard :giddy: , luckily that idiot manage to overtake and lane change back.. tis kind of overtakin very frequent so had to be very alert in thailand.

also the monsoon season isn't really a good time to go on bike tour as i found out when i return. kenna torrential rain for almost 200km of riding... now i know sg thunderstorm is chicken feet.

anyway i rode up alone and came back wif my gf who meetup wif me in krabi..

Thanks for the info. The Aloha room seems to have doubled in price which my friend showed me.

$30 per room is the price if you're a civil servant .... Public price is $60 , which is I believe what your friend showed you.

Thanks for all the tips. Back from the trip, it was cold at the top where we stayed at Pine Resorts. Food wise not so fantastic. The corners up and down was fun though, good training for my MHS trip later.

Looks very relaxing. Some nice old english charm!

I've heard the route is quite a good workout for the tires too. Looking fwd to checking it out soon.

Maybe a Bukit Ride - Cameroon Highlands, Fraser Hills and Genting Highlands?

Time to whip out the map!

Someday, home will be where my front wheel points.

It was a nice change especially for the cooler temperature. There were about 30km of corners uphill from where we started. One of the pillion were seeing stars after we reached the top.

if you going for day trip maybe i join you lah

You can try this hotel. :)

Hotel Pontian Johor Bahru

Pusat Perdagangan Pontian, Jalan Delima

82000 Pontian, Johor Darul Ta'zim.

Pontian is just a small town. There is a Shangri-la restaurant near Parkson (you need to made a U-turn at the cross junction at the Bata shop on your left on the main road and followed by a left-turn) that serve good oriental food or nearby kopitiam there for the famous clay pot Bak Ku Teh.

Ride on the main road pass the Bata shop, you will come across the police station and make a right-turn down the first stretch of shop houses, they have a famous stall serving Wanton Mee without wanton (haha! surprised?)

There is nothing much to do except for rest and relax. Shopping is pretty limited at Parkson and some small shops. When night falls, you will find the town alive, enjoy food and drinks by the sea at either Tambak or Pontian Seaside. Tambak, is a new commercial area, everything is new within. On the other hand, Pontian seaside already exist for decades, if you really want to enjoy the true Pontianese life, go to Pontian Seaside. You might get lucky someone performing live music. Along the main road, you would probably come across roadside stalls selling foods too.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.
