I can see that a lot of our local guys racing in Sepang. There is also race in Pasir Gudang coming up next month after so long no race there.

I am interested to know the OFFICIAL timing of our local riders. Yes ONLY our local riders. Why ONLY local riders?? Because i believe, local newbie like me would want to try and keep an eye on our local racer for inspiration whenever we might meet them on track during track day or practice session. It can also be a motivation for some newbie to start participate in races if they can see the OFFICIAL timing posted here for reference and knowing that their personal timing is now competative to race. Ive seen the laptimes recorded in other threat but they are all NOT OFFICIAL except for very few which are OFFICIAL. Adding to this, it is only laptimes at Pasir Gudang. How about Sepang? There is alot of newbie including me are very interested to one day participate race in Sepang.

So i hope we can have Official LAP times recorded and updated here in this thread. Both Pasir Gudang and Sepang.

Can someone do the format to start this? It will be good if can include dates and bike model. :thumb:

I would do this if i know the records but unfortunately i dont.

bro as you have called yourself a newbie, dont worry too much abt timing, learn to ride ie your racing line, body posture, braking pt and throttle control, corner speed etc.

charn once told me that a lot of newbie are so focus on cutting down their timing but yet their technics are all wrong, the ultimate results are ...... they eat gravel.

so pls my advice to you also the same, take it easy.

i dont know whats your bike but for the 600 and litre bikes in PG normally it progress from within 2.10s to under 2min to below 1.55 to below 1.5 to below 1.45 and the really good ones in the 1.30s.

as for sepang i think valentino and others are doing like 2min. and the really good ones abt 2.16. for the rest should be 2.20s onwards

:thumb: :thumb: to that advice.

Speed on the track which equates to cutting down the timing, is the sum of smooth execution of braking, corner lining and throttle control.

Learn to take the corners fast and smooth, that is one of the keys to cutting down the timing, works true for me.

I might be wrong.. but that's what I found out for myself.

Have to agree with you on this. Technic first than worry about timing.

For me i'm still mastering the basic from Charns lesson so i don't really care about timing at the moment, but nearing to break the 2 minutes barrier

Thank you Spiderman. From your avatar i can see that you are among the guys racing. Are u Alex Wong #99?? I cant recall last year got race at pg. I only know that there is Asia Pac race there last year. How come only 2 above 400cc bike? I usually see lots of 600cc and 1000cc everytime i go pg. Which local rider participate in asia race at pg before? Any OFFICIAL timing for Asia Race at PG and Sepang? Sori for asking so much. I tried to search all this Official time but cannot get it. Btw i ride a CBR1000 and just started tracking since i got the bike early this year.

Amba race at pg also last year issit. Massimo Nanni #2 is our local rider? 1:41.613 is super fast i think.

Hey Amba can u post the Official Time of our Local Guys at Sepang Race? Btw amba i head ur advice to do up suspension. Waiting for December bonus to spend on suspension upgrade.

D.O.C are u also the regular guys racing in Sepang/PG? By ur post u seems very experience racer.

sorry bro i am a noob. like you i wanted to be as fast as possible and luckily have some advice from charn on my riding.

one of his best advice: be smooth and relax, do things slowly and concentrate on taking corners. better to ask any of the very experience for advice better committing to getting your times down.

I think the sepang timing should be 2 mins plus instead of just 1 min plus, cause rossi and the rest riding at sepang would be wondering why singapore and japan aint winning the motogp?:cheeky:

full track, 800cc gp machine are doing 1.59++ during the testing for full track...

it think in oct will be faster.should look out for qualifying time.

top asia pac riders and kuhara(cbr1000) are doing 2.16/2.17 for full track.

for those wondering, the gp 250cc machines are faster than production 1000cc. gotta compare with zhongzhen wild card team practicing last year

Don't just break your laptimes, SHATTER them!!

Yup they were using aprilia rsv250s and clocking 2:15 on their practice session. Never forget how fast they corner on the track and needless to say the speed on the straights.
