My mother don't allow me to ride also. Even as a pillion she will also keep nagging. But then, it's been my goal since young. Nobody can stop me. Learned riding without letting her noe (i noe itz not right). Only when I burned my leg on the exhaust (ugly scar) during one of the lesson, then she found out. But can't stop me...haha

My man lagi best. Told him that I wanna go enrol. He supported. Cause he thought I would never pass. So let mi try and I will give up...haha. Even when I pass, he says he really didn't expect it. After 2a lic...he also like dun believe it. His best frd also shocked i tink...coz he failed tp test so many times and he intends to give up. But seeing mi getting the lic...haha..tink he got the motivation to try again. Mayb he was thinking...if a ger can pass, y he canot. Hope he is not a mbr here or dunoe who I am :p

Yes Bibi...they can ride so can us. They worry, so do us. if she can't handle..how can she get the lic. Totally Super agree with all u said. Best :thumb:

N yes..I will n have support my gfs to ride.

sometimes i admire the gals who ride... but still i wun encourage my gf to learn bike coz i noe the danger of it... sometimes it is not a matter of whether we guys r restricting u gals from riding, but a matter of trust in the sense of judgement n how careful or careless of u gals... i believe every gal is different...

for me, my gf's judgement is not that good (sorry baby!), n oso abit careless in everyday life... these things r actually invinsible to her coz is is part of her, n only ppl ard her r able to spot it... thats y i dun encourage her to take up biking...

although giving u gals the utmost support is so called showing how much we care for ur thoughts by u all, in contrary, not letting u all ride is to show how much we guys love our gf coz we noe that it is dangerous...

As I had mentioned on the other thread, got one time see a lady rider dress very sexy on a Fazer at Marine Parade. When she stop at the traffic light, most people (drivers & passengers) in the other cars are either looking or pointing at her. The pedestrain also glance at her when crossing the road. When the light turn green, no cars moves till she take her time to clutch in & take off. Fierce siah  :gun: :gun:

wah.. sure see at least one everyday?? :cheer:

i dun see so many on the road leh... especially those riding class 2A/2... :sian:

for your knowledge humans have got to be burnt to know how getting burn feels... just like me... i have always been careless although observant, i see but i do not always register what i see... until... i started to ride... i realise how jia lat i was and i learn from mistakes... and i got the scars to show for it too...

the idea is if the gal wants to learn, let her... if she do not, then let it be... like me, my parents totally forbid it... cause my relative had a really bad accident and crashed his arm (forgot left or right)... had friends and family who are badly injured by accidents too... i myself even had many friends who had passed away or are so badly injured that he's whole side except the leg is paralysed... but then biking is my passion and i will not hesitate to dump the guy who thinks that biking is not for gals...

its still the same, if you can do it, so can we... in everything... in fact, there was a study that says, being female does not naturally mean being weaker... yes we have lower number of muscle cells but being human do not mean muscle is everything, it certainly makes things easier but having less means we have to use our brains more to figure out doing it without the strenght :) ;)

this is call GIRL POWER!!!!

you are talking about X11?? to tell you very frankly, its up to the girl... if the girl have the determination to do it, she will do it... its just whether she wants it that badly a not :)

if am a guy, i will encourage my gf to go learn and ride as well. i guess like minded ppl get along better. there is risk in everything we do.

my hubby was amazed abt me deciding to take up riding last time but he was supportive and sent me to register. i flew into the drain and fell countless times but if it's something that you so much wanted, then go for it. just that he's discouraging me to go track when there's too many bikes ard. it's frustrating but i can understand his worries.

guys who discourage gfs is not a bad thing aft all cos they r concern abt their loved ones so perhaps it's better for them to hv non riding gfs. this is not to say that guys who hv riding gfs r not concern abt their safety but they hv accepted the fact and are some what mentally prepared.

just my 2 cents worth.

that seems like a girl's ego problem from my point of view... :cheeky:

machiam like gf wanna ask bf to buy handbag then bf dun wan to buy... but gf will say, 'i wan means i wan!' :giddy:

yes, it is good to pursue ur dreams but as i said, gals dun seem to see the care n concern shown by guys in not encouraging u gals to take up riding...

my fren juz passed away last december in a bike accident... 21 years old only... do u noe how much reflections of life this incident gave me? :weep:

minor falls r ok but, touchwood, who noes when the major ones will happen? even those falls that ended up onlt in cuts, abrasions, n bruises only oso will make us guys, as bf, very heartpain liao...

and oso i nv say that gals r weaker coz i have seen gals who have faster n more powerful kicks than guys in taekwondo! :lovestruck:

although i wun encourage my gal to take up riding, i will still support her in watever she wans to do, provided it does no harm to herself, ppl ard her, n the society...

What's up with the men > women vibe up in this place?

All the "oh i'd discourage my gf from riding because she's a delicate flower and might get scarred or injured and no longer be my beautiful delicate flower" replies.

You guys ride, why must the girls be discouraged? Guys are made of titanium and girls aren't? So what if they fall and get hurt/scarred? Does that make them less of a female? Gonna dump the delicate flower if she's no longer so delicate?

I think girls should be encouraged to ride. It might make them more independent and add to their life experiences, amongst other good things. Let the ladies live a little, stop trying to keep them in a display case.

If you can't handle it i'm sure there are many other girls who are more than willing to stay perched on the pillion seats and not give riding a try, staying safe in their display cases and letting the men do their manly things.

Those who risk nothing, do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing.

i dun think lightning means that.

Everyone has their own concerns abt life.

when someone u really cherished had gotten into an accident n passed away, will you still be so sure abt letting them ride in the first place?

its not all abt the beautiful delicate flower thingy.

a few scars is nothing but a life worth more than everything.

in fact, tis does not apply onli to the females.

hmmm.. call tis a preventive measure ba.

juz my 0.02 cents thoughts.

i think we should change the topic into: Do you allow your other half to ride bike?

its not abt gender probs. We definately will have careless people of either genders. Some guys can do it, while some guys cant, gals alike. But everyone are free to do whateva they wan, as long as they noe their own limits.

i'll worry for my bf too. but i trust his sense of judgement n his reaction ability to take good care of himself.

as for mi, i have doubts too. but i'm willing to learn n accept my mistake. Still, i wont go blaming my guy for not supporting mi. If there's a need to, i'll prove to him tt i can be careful too.

In my view, as long as she is mentally & physically fit & reach legal age, girls have got the right to ride.

Everyone knows risk happens daily... When walk on staircase, there is a risk of tripping down.

When taking the lift, there is a risk of trapping inside.

When walk under a tree, there is a risk of bird sh*t dropping on your shoulder or gonna bee sting...

Riding also have risk too, but the chance of exposure to risk may be higher & more deadly due to weather condition, road condition, traffic & the attitude of oneself towards riding.

Can I stop my girlfriend or boyfriend from walking staircase? Or can I stop her/him from riding?

Yet the problem is most of us are not alone. There are your love ones who care for you & believe in you. Definately no one wish to be a paralyse after an accident & be a burden to his/her love ones for the rest of one's life.

I wish I take care when I ride, for my sake & for the others who believe in me.

So are those female riders, ride safe.

sometimes my bf prefer me to ride hahahaha depends on the arrangements... if i have to go other places as well then i will ride... if we are going to the same places then i will be a pillion... but frankly i still prefer to ride... after i got my license it feels very uncomfy to be a pillion as we cant control the vehicle... quite scary...:giddy: :giddy:
