You would think that after sharing roads with cages for 35 years I would be used to their antics. So would I. We're both wrong o_O .

A few weeks ago a Blue Suede Taxi Pilot ran over my foot while I was stopped in the middle of the lane at a traffic light at Rochor Road so he could cut into the lane in front of me. Three days ago a Family Man w/Family in a People Mover came up behind me as two lanes merged near Suntec, overtook me on the left, looked at me and pulled to the right so I had to move quickly right myself, our of his way into the next lane so that he could occupy the now merged lane. This morning on the way to work, as I was on the approach to the ECP in a single-lane queue with container trucks and vans before and behind me, a Flash Harry in a Clone Sedan came up on the left passing most of the queue, crossed the solid white line, sat next to me, and forced me to move over to let him in the queue.

In every case, the driver was physically smaller than me, but was using the bulk of his cage to force me to yield. Naturally, I did, preferring to survive to ride another day.

Methinks it's time to "out" these people. I suggest the use of this gadget to document the offenders.

Heh - interesting suggestions thanks people

The camera is on its way

And I went for a ride today and Calmed Down, even managed to ignore the Gentleman (I use the word advisedly) in the ToyMota who looked blankly at me as he pulled out about 10 feet in front of me as I was passing IKEA - which I was fully expecting and had the front brake covered.

Now here's a fellow rider who gets it (from amarillo.com)

An apology is in order, so, please, forgive me. It was not until this morning on my ride to work that I fully understood I was in error.

Yes, I've noticed that there are many very busy and important people on the roads. You all are hard to miss with the cell phones, laptops, breakfast bars, coffee, cigarettes and all, but until now, I didn't realize I was causing so much trouble for you busy, multitasking drivers.

I figured it out this morning, thanks to the nice lady working on the laptop who needed the lane I was in.

First, ma'am, let me say that when I honked at you from the shoulder, I didn't mean to startle you. My intent was just to give you a little beep to let you know the lane was all yours. But I was braking so hard, I couldn't lift my thumb off the horn button. My bad.

I surely didn't mean to cause you to nearly hit the guy talking on the cell phone. You know, he was smoking and talking as he moved his SUV right into the space you had just left.

Anyway, the good news is, that's when I realized all of you multitasking drivers must be texting each other about intended lane changes and running traffic lights and stop signs and such. I'm sorry - I'm still using old-fashioned blinkers. I didn't realize you needed some time to e-notify that guy that you needed the lane back. I really messed it up for both of you!

I can only say that the guard rail was a little distracting, and I was only thinking about myself. I'll try harder next time.

Like I said, I didn't know that was how you multitasking drivers were communicating. It must have been in an e-mail, but my laptop fell off my tank and I haven't replaced it.

However, I have a solution.

I know many of you are so busy and important that you have no choice - you have to eat, work, talk, read and do lots of other really important things as you drive.

Those of us who use the road only for traveling would be happy to stay out of your way; we just need to know you're coming.

A little visual clue would help - I was thinking of a bumper sticker. That way, everyone could identify you as Drivers Utilizing Multiple Behaviors.

Of course, that's a little long, so we'd cut it down to an acronym - DUMB.

If you'd place stickers on the front, back and maybe the sides of your car, the rest of us would know not to interfere with you on the road.

I think it's such a good idea, I'll pay for the bumper stickers and even put them on for you. Deal?

Again, I'm sorry I got in your way. I'll try harder to see you coming from now on.

I promise!

Calm down. I ride and I drive. Both have nuts pple on the road. Don't believe, go stand at the PIE to BKE entrance coming down from Eng Neo. bike zooming between cars at >50km/h in the long up climb. As a driver I got to give way to them else they touch and fall!

I have been driving in Japan, Taiwan and Spore. It was very pleasant driving in Japan. Bikers and drivers are very courteous and seldom you find recklessness - unless you met drunk and bullys. Once I got an accident and I am in the wrong. The other party apologise and sorry for causing me to be late for work:P . In Taiwan, good luck if you survive on your bike! That is why they need bike lane!

Unless more and more biker/driver change thier attitude, the current situation will remain :(. I am on the road since 1987, it was pleasant to drive/ride then as compare to now. It start to get worse during the boom in 1994 to 96, and getting worse by the years! It was also then that there is mass inlfux of malaysian bikers. Apparently, our bikers also pick up their bad habits:( .As a case in point, I was in Japan for 5 years. jaywalking is neglible. A year before I return, The Japs, also start to jaywalk - picking up bad habits from foreigners like me :)

Please note that I am not saying malaysian are bad. I have lots of malaysian friends and they are good people. It is jsut that thier bikers has bad habits. It just that on the roads for so many years, when I see bikes riding recklessly on the road, it is more likey a malaysian plate biker. Of course the rider maybe Spore or other nationality. Now, it can either be Spore or Malaysian biker :-(.

It seems we are on a vicious cycle of bad road manners :-(.

Just today, I was driving and turning left and a stupid mini-van make a illegal u-turn out of the blue! I almost bang into the front passenger door! The driver and the passenger got the chip to middle finger me!

my 2 cents...and glad u are all well

the name shouldn't just be for F&*Ked drivers....there are those who are considerate *tho they are a rare breed.....

bear that in mind cos ur camera can't differentiate good and bad behavior... all gets taken.....

The sole purpose... if i may say is to create responsibile motoroist..... that should be a 2 sprong approach... appreaciate the good.. shame the not.

Hey guys I just thought of something.

Why chose a bad name like F#$%@Drivers?

We should just get a simple name that will appear more often.

eg: http://www.Singaporean_Drivers.com / http://www.SG_drivers.com

That way it will appear more easily in searches, and more people can see just how much danger the drivers pose to riders.

Maybe LTA will launch a road safety campaign to drivers to be more considerate to riders after seeing it.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

Hey man, got myself a budget helmet camera a few months ago for just about the same reason and with the intention of posting online as well as sending video evidence to TP (I checked with TP, they said video evidence can charge a driver as long as you are willing to testify in court).

Somehow, people don't seem to jerk around with me when I have the cam on, but the moment the cam is off some ass will magically appear.

try:

I'll probably put the cam back on when I'm done moving house. :)
