umm first time riding, many things happened on the road, haha especially when getting horned by other vehicles. in my mind, haiz what did i do wrong. huhu seemed to loss confidence and thinks that i should just take the public transport... i know maybe some of u may think its lame. what should i do?

since youve already taken the trouble to get a licence and bike, why give up over a small setback? its normal for everyone to get horned when they first get their licence. im sure most of us here had to take awhile to adjust to the roads. i know i did. so dont give up and just ride more often. and of course, be careful.

don't be sad bro. i think its quite normal especially when we are new on the road. for me, i get horned not even 5 mins after collecting my bike. haha. like marcL said..just don't give up. u will get used to the road conditions soon. important thing is just dont panic when u get horned..these ppl see us with p plate they like happy to horn at us..haha..and of course ride safe.

Hmm... Engine stall? You need to check if its bike problem or rider problem. If bike problem, mechanical problems, let a mech repair your bike and solve the stalling problem. Sometimes its simple things like your clutch settings or idling too low etc. If its the rider thats not used to the bike and stalls often, well, I'm sure with time you'll be fine.

 

All of us go through the phase of confidence checks when we first start riding, or after we just buang and started riding again. Talking about it in this forum helps Good luck.

If you need to build some confidence as a new rider, this thread will help a lot. Take your time, read a little each day, and try to apply one at a time. Dun need to finish all in one shot.

I advice you not to horn back at them. This can spur other drivers to do dangerous acts against you such as overtaking, tail-gating you or even going up close to you. There is actually a reason why they horn you, i don't think people will horn for nothing. Most probably you are lane-hogging or you are accelerating too slow.

 

Engine stall is a common problem with new riders especially when the throttle and clutch feels weird. For me, my fast throttle has quite alot of freeplay, so i stalled pretty much often during my first week of ride. After two weeks, tehre should be no problem at all! Take your time to get used to it and remember, SAFETY FIRST.

 

PS: Btw trying to horn others can make you lose concentration on the roads. I rather you take the time to avoid dangers than to horn back at others just for the sake of 'revenge'.

Bro, im juzz like you. But Im even WORST. My "couselor" said tht i may hv sume problem with my attitude. Lack of confidance,anti-social, overprotected, over cautios, or mayb too paranoid sumtimes. Not onli on the road, but on everything.. Heh.. she said i hv "psycological Desease" .

 

Bak to the topic, My 1st time on the road is somwht like tht lah. Wht i do is juzz ride everyday. And Ride the bike "politely" . SUch as, gip early signal be4 changing line etc etc. Be4 i get used to the BIG road, i usually use the left line ( For slow vihecles) . Untill i gain some confidance, then i ride it as any other rider... overtaking if i need to...use the right line if necessarry etc etc. BUT still!, its a must to follow all the rules and regulation on da road. Recpect other rider @ driver. And u'll find tht its quite enjoyable to ride ur bike hehehe..

i have a question with confidence too...

i crashed few months ago, luckily escaped with scratches(took few mnths to recover) onli...i've since sold my bike but now i'm thinking of buying again... but...i'm also afraid of crashing again...

U will slowly learn how thing on the road works and soon enough u will be horning at ppl who dun even know y u horned them for.. loL..

 

Anyway bro.. no worries.. just ride slow n safe. at most keep left all the way..

Advise is try to ride when traffic is less.. Mayb mid nite go out more often eat supper as pratice..

hmm.. spore driver no patient ... is like that one... even when i ride bigger cc at slow speed the car also horn.. haha... but i hack care them. cause in the late nite, no car , onli me n that car, the car purposely travel behind me n horn me... ppl u p plate they jus bully them... bo pian ... u wil use to it
