actually i think singapore petrol more or less the same... the differences are just marketing gimmicks... i used to pump only one kind of petrol into my bike (Shell 98) cuz i thought that is the best and i dun wanna mix petrol... but now, after periodically pumping shell 98/95, esso 98/95, caltex silver/gold.... seriously... i can't feel the difference... maybe my butt no sensitive enough.

in my opinion, modern bikes, use 95octane petrol more than enough.... :thumb:

Whatever ^ said. All petrol feels the same to me, i would just go to whatever available or with the best promotions, heh heh

does its make a different for different petrol for different bikes?? i once tried an empty tank(maybe got abit which less than 1 ltr) and pump full tank of V-power.. i also dun really feel any difference after a long run.. but alot of ppl say V-power very good.. SPC discount getting lesser and lesser lei.. hope i got carltex or esso near my neighbouring.... haix~~

you can consider changing to a diesel engine, i think u will have the best promotion cos pumping diesel is cheap.. lol..

umm.. sg i pump Esso 95 ..

usually i will go JB pump F1 or V power..

i pump V-power (JB) .. ok laaa.. powerful abit only.. but the mileage is not as good as pumping F1..

Neither. Shell 95 is 95 octane petrol. Shell 98 is 98 octane petrol, and if i'm not mistaken, v-power is 98 octane too, but with "special" additives.

Petrol is petrol...

You only need the octane that your engine requires. Spending more money on higher octane when your bike doesn't have sufficient compression to warrant is is a waste of money....

Most bikes will run best on 95octane.... some (eg old scooters) run best on 92... some (like higher power thus higher compression race bikes) need higher octane thus need 98....

Different types of petrol do not have differing fuel economy / performance figures... its all marketing...

Use the lowest octane you can afford to, and as others have said... go to the petrol company that offers the best discount.

I keep seeing people asking what petrol is better, think this topic had been discuss countless times on this forum.

Why don't just check your bike's manual to see what they recommend you to use. Pumping higher than require is just a waste of money. :sian:

If you wants better power, think the best thing to do us upgrade to a better bike

my bike is reccomended 93 and above.

*slaps forehead*

well between 92 and 95 there is a slight, but noticable difference in performance. poorer acceleration more so. but between 95 and 98... or v-power, there is no difference. any difference you feel is in your head.

i fill with shell SUPER @ 2nd link. is good enough for me.

Most of singaporians who come down to Jb pump petronas said the same thing about "throtle response" . I think its true then. But how can u tell tht the burning is not so clean?

Btw, som ppl said " petrol are petrol, any difrrance in performance is becoz in ur head ". I dunno bout tht. SOme reason, my bike dun accelerate well if pumping esso, mobil or caltex. Mayb my bike luv Shell and petronas i guess...

i think it is up to yourself... i personally using caltex GOLD for my super4 it is smooth compare to others.... but when i pump shell V power really can feel the diff for the power....

Well at least we share 1 opinion in common bout vpower hahaha. Sum ppl dun believe me though. SUmtimes my bro will borrow my bike. And i could tell when he pump vpower on my bike without him telling so. And when i asked him, i was rite. Still say its psycology? aiyo... if onli i hv dyno mechine to prove it ( if i know how to use dyno mechine though hahaha ):giddy:

i only pump Shell because the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team uses it :cheeky:

i stick to 95 because i find no performance advantage when using V-power or 98. moreover, it's cheaper :thumb:
